Nah its just that us english are highly over rated, for years we have been a terrible teamI agree with this if you change English by Spanish. Ok, they win, they play differently, but omfg they do not shoot at the goal even if they are 3 meters away from it! It is almost as if they believed that the team with more possession won the games, not the one with the most goals.
I am puzzled how someone can't question a sport where you carry the ball with your hands and then you call it "Football" - totally stupid...
Besides, American Football is just Rugby for weaklings...
In olden times, rugby was also called football, even though it uses mainly hands. Since American football was based on rugby, it was also called football.
Association Football (Futbol) was called, as slang, "Soc" as opposed to "Ruggers" (rugby football). This is how Americans came to call Association Football "Soccer."

Aww, I forgot when they participated the last time in a tournament like EC or WC... lemme check some history book - yes, it's that long ago
And the stories about some Turkish club-manager was arms trafficing as a side income... it's so entertaining
I remembered this awesome Turkish epic Euro where they had an awesome fightin'spirit.dat was cool, especially the game against croita was the best I think. I remember modric was crying :P
They scored at the last moment every game until Manshaaft . They lost most of their players on suspension/injury .
Fatih Tehrim was incredible in this competition
Magic and one of my best soccer "souvenir"
But we had our revenge the next game   :twisted:Yea :| We need a manager like Fatih Terim(aka Grande Terim)
I remember a WC in which Turkey scored two goals in the last 5 minutes of a match.

He's never been the same since his skull took that beating. Understandable really but prior to that he truly was the best goalkeeper in the world. With the defence headed by Terry, they've kept a huge amount of clean sheets. But they are getting older now and it's definitely beginning to tell.right and respect :)

ok today noon CET well see who plays who in the semifinals of the CL.
what do u think will UEFA pair them together ( german - german, spanish - spanish ) or not?
I think they will arrange somehow like german-spanish / german-spanish.

As long as it's not used for every foul/offside ect so it doesn't slow the game it's fine.

Always a pleasure to see veterans still cutting it on the high level of game, especially when they're loyal to their clubs. Juan Carlos Valeron (37) scores, assisted by Manuel Pablo (37). Same thing could have happened a decade ago. Reminds me of my Football Manager teams with an average age of the first squads about 35. :)

True, although I think there were other better candidates than Moyses. The guy was at Everton for 10 years and haven't won a single cup, highly overrated.

he spent less money in 10 years (due to limited Everton budget) than Liverpool did only last season and finished above them in the table. I find that quite a sucess.
Congrats to Frank Lampard for becoming the best Chelsea scorer in history!
Really? Why don't you take Spurs into an account, no wait Redknapp actually. The guy won the FA with Portsmouth and he saved Spurs from relegation and made then into a Champions League team. Now that is success.

The "Bulgarian Wolf" Trifon Ivanov, I remember him from Mundial '94 in USA, he was like big boss in defence.

Is that Paul Merson behind strikers on the left poster?
Robben should have had a straight red card

If the starting defeat vs Aston Villa doesn't teach them a lesson then nothing ever will. I've followed Arsenal throughout the whole Wenger era and I'm wondering what made him lose his plot. Watched the game on Saturday and it felt just like every other game for the last 8 years or so: just passing around and creating a spider web in front of oppositions box but very little or nothing in terms of concrete shooting. They wanna walk in behind the goal line and its not working for em. Plus their goalie and last line are a joke, unfortunately Adams, Seaman, Winterburn, Dixon, Keown and Bould are all still alive and able to see this disgrace, otherwise they'd be turning upside-down in their graves. I think if Bould would take off and step into the defense himself they'd concede less stupid goals.See my signature.

I'd rather see Wenger splash the cash on Rooney & Suarez (I dislike Suarez and all such arrogant imbeciles but anything is better then clowns like Giroud). Altho If I was in charge for 5 mins I'd transfer list all goalies and defenders and accept every offer that comes withing my short reign.Yeah I'd really like to see Arsenal get something of what they need. I'm a big fan of any manager who invests time in a club. I hate the whole billionaire buys club, celebrity manager brought in for 1-2 years attitude. This is with Wenger its like before he came across as a tactical genius who was always inches from the mark, and for the past few years he's been wandering across the line from genius to insane. Or that how it seems to me. Anyway its entertaining for me as an Arsenal neutral. Newcastle havent bought any players except for some rapist from QPR so we are pretty much gunna be fucked.. again.
I can't say I'm a fanatic Arsenal supporter anymore, It's just a bad habit right now due to the club's name and history and my fanatical years of supporting them while you couldn't even watch their matches here in Croatia. They played on Saturday and you'd mostly know results one or two days later, what a stone age that was. :P
These days I prefer the underdogs (probably why I started to support Arsenal in the first place, as those days they were 7th i think, year before Wenger came, it was that short Bruce Rioch era) and clubs who have some veteran players or managers that I know from my youth when we played a lot of Football Manager. Ian Holloway the Joker in Crystal Palace, Gareth Ainsworth leading Wycombe, David Weir in Sheff Utd, Graham Alexander in Fleetwood and some more in those lower divisions, they were all legendary players who's careers spanned up to the age of 40. Meh, fuck football, it has nothing to do with football anymore.

*cough* Champions League Final: Dortmund (Germany) vs München (Germany) *cough*
Yea, Premier League is quite Premier... :D
Probably cause you didn't grew up with it. Premier League has always been the most interesting league internationally. Though I honestly don't know the reason behind it.
It's not like the Premier League had the most beautiful way of playing the game in the past. Neither had the Bundesliga in all fairness.
What I have to criticize about my home league is the lack of competition tho. It gets boring when you already know at the start of the season that either Bayern München or Dortmund is going to be Champion. Nobody really doubts that and the actual competition is just about the ranks 3 to 6 for the international slots next to the Champions League...
Makes it rather boring.
Except my hometown team is in the ditch right now, I expect "my" season to be more exciting. Will they stay in the 1st Division or are they going down? :?
You really think PL is the number one league in Europe?

What made you want to support the team that hails from the land of the thieving bloody scousers?
In one of his best musings on football, journalist Hunter Davies recalls being at White Hart Lane when the crowd embarked on the inevitable chants of "stand up if you hate Arsenal". Only Davies and an old supporter nearby were immune to the call.
"I'm too old to hate," explained Davies.
"I'm too old to stand," replied the man.
Wait I just heard about this, 100.000.000€ for a bloody football player?
The fuck, seriously? Just think how much humanity could be advanced and helped with all that wasted cash.
This is idiotic. I'm not going to insult the sport in general because this is more about monetizing sports, which I hate, and not football itself.
This shit happens in every major sport.

Said last season that Ramsey was going to be an absolutely cracking player, and people laughed at me and told me i didnt know anything about football. I love it when im right.
Yeah I remember someone saying that Ramsey would become a key player for Arsenal this season and people were flaming and laughing at him. In their faces I guess.
Arsenal 2-0 already. They're on fire.

Didn't Özil go to Arsenal (was made to go)?
He did and he started to fix his hair in a way so he fits the company of supermodels like Giroud and Arteta.
Gnjus wants Bale and Ronaldo at Arsenal. They probably use the whole day before a match to fix their hair :P
I'm not sure if Mancini can bring something new to team or change something. I wouldn't leave Fatih Terim for Mancini thats all.
Mancini was a good player but he's a useless manager. Waste of money, same as most of the "top" managers out there. There really isn't too many good ones in this business, especially on these "high" levels.

I dont remember the last time England dominated a tournament, while English premiere league has been the best league by far.
Belgium or Germany.
wasnt really controversial :P they are talking about it on sky sports news Fifa law 12 states a keeper is in control of the ball when holding or bouncing the ball, A keeper cannot be tackled while in control of the ball :D Thus goal shouldn't have stood but im sure they would have won anyway

We'll beat them on the side. Just like we did with Bayern last year.
I guess I'm not the only one enjoying how much shit United are in at the moment. The United fans I know are spoiled and really cocky, so this is just wonderful
We will beat Tottenham, if we field the team for it. Alot of youth and squad players usually feature in our cup matches, I dont mind that though, CL and PL are top priority. Still think Ramsey, Özil and maybe Koscielny need a rest now, but this difficult xmas period.. Everton today, Naples wednesday, Man City saturday morning, and then Chelsea the week after that! Hope they wont get too fatigued!
Today's game against Everton was such an entertaining match, probably the most entertaining one so far this season! To bad we didnt get all 3 points though, if Giroud had hit goal and not the crossbar 3 mins overtime.. Oh well
Wasn't someone ManCity fan in here? :)

yeah weve had a few poor games. Still 3 points clear. how are leeds doing? :P
Very well 2nd best form in the league in past 10 games. We'll be selling out your ground next year when we play you. ;DDDDD
It's time for arsenal to buy a big named striker in January.
Not that Arsenal's is much better but still.
He was pretty awkward and gangley when he started
I'd like to ask the Premier League cracks in here in their opinions on Per Mertesacker. I watched a documentary the other day where they claimed that he has become a rather important figure for Arsenal lately. Is this true or is the report just the product of some krautish football patriotism?
Sky sports 1 5:15, get ready to hear the loudest away fans in the country.shame your 4th.
Shit, almost forgot. We're the loudest at home aswell.
shame your 4th.
But still a bigger club than arsenal you tin pots
We'll see who's bigger when Arsenal offer 50 mil pounds for Suarez next month :P
Liverpool top on Christmas, 5th by new year, such an exciting title race, and i have yet to see anyone criticise Liverpool for losing pretty much all their games against the top 4, where as arsenal came out with at least 2 point s :)
Well yeah. Brilliant to give Liverpool - Man City and Chelsea both away games in 3 days, fu FA. Obviously we just HAD to have Gerrard and Strurridge on the injury list for these games. Oh boy was Gerrard needed these 2 games. Allen is NOT a player for a title contendant/champions league club. Glen Johnson need to be replaced ASAP.
Anyway, Arsenals February/March schedule will make them lose the PL title. It's either Man City or Chelsea who will win in the end.
I just PRAY for a top 4 finish, so we can keep Suarez and sign some world class players in the summer.
Also, I hope for another successful January signings
Well yeah. Brilliant to give Liverpool - Man City and Chelsea both away games in 3 days, fu FA.
Arsenal had City, Napoli and Chelsea in 6 days?
I think Arsenal need a couple of players in Jan (cant rely on bendtner for sure) and if Ozil gets back into killer form we can beat anyone.
I don't know what the deal is. You'd think they'd want to snap him up, wouldn't you? If they don't then someone else willl. For what we got him for, he's probably worth double that now. He's scored goals in the Premier League again this year.
Wouldnt say no to Countrao or maybe Bertrand. José Enrique injured (back soon tho), Flanagan made some really good matches but got injured as well. Cissokho isnt good enough.
I'd also love to replace Glen Johnson cause he suck balls.
Salah are most likely joining us and are really exciting I must say.
Xabi Alonso is a wet dream. A comeback in Liverpool will bring me tears of happiness.
Looking forward to finish top 4 and signing some class players in the summer
Liverpool's pursuit of Barcelona forward Cristian Tello and Basel winger Mohamed Salah may be postponed until the summer.
Damn it. Swedish silly season havnt written that. Should probably follow BBC?
Mourinho should be a jolly fellow and sell us Mata.
Read some rumours about Pedro as well. Wouldnt say no if he's not too expensive.

good result for Arsenal last night, good to see Benteke and Giroud scoring again
We have become way to complacent with our leads lately. Although Villa only got back in it after a huge error by Cazorla, who has been quite dissapointing this season. Good to see the Ox again though, hope him and Poldi can have a good run on the wings from now on :P
It was nice to see Blackburn getting a well-deserved draw against Man City at Ewood Park 1.5 weeks ago. Now I just hope I won't watch them getting stuffed at the Etihad tonight :)

Thread successfully re-derailed!
Holy!
Too strict financial limitations would just lead the big money whore clubs to leave their national FAs and UEFa and form their own SUPER LeagueTM. Which would be awesome from rich fat owners point of view, no need to let players go with the national team and no stupid transfer windows limiting the endless spending. Participation would be guaranteed every year and no fear of relegation.
Chelsea have agreed a deal with Basel to sign winger Mohamed Salah.
The 21-year-old will now head to London to hold talks over personal terms with the Blues.
Salah, who had been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, will also undergo a medical examination before the transfer can be confirmed.
The fee involved has not been revealed yet but Salah is believed to be valued at around £11million by the Swiss side.
also did you see the lolfest that was the penalty shoot out between United and Sunderland :D True English penalties!
Roflcopter: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25956108 :P
Once again Chelsea and City buying their way to the titles, both have spent over £100 million on players, disgusting, surely this is not under financial fair play rules?
Kim Kallstrom has completed a medical as his proposed loan to Arsenal moves closer..
The Sweden midfielder emerged as a surprise target for Arsene Wenger early on deadline-day, and the deal is on track to go through ahead of the 11pm cut-off point.
Wenger entered the market after seeing his midfield options dwindle significantly in recent days.
Kim Kallstrom has a back injury and will not play in the next five Arsenal games, Sky sources understand.
Arsene Wenger signed the Spartak Moscow midfielder as a stop-gap on deadline day after losing Mathieu Flamini to suspension and Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere to injury.
Arsenal went ahead with the loan deal in the full knowledge Kallstrom had an injury which would delay his debut.
My reaction was like....
hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha haaaa...... ha... ha..
Something like that
Nice way to appreciate one of the greatest players from Sweden... Only over 200 games in Lyon when it was a top class team, and 108 caps for Sweden. Too bad he got injured, great player.

Only first and last pic that were remotely funny.
meh we get smashed every so often, still cant believe it was by a mediocre liverpool team :( i say mediocre because they have SAS and thats about it. Still we are in second and top 3 looks like a good shot as long as we don't do that crap again ^^
Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson, Lucas and an uprising Sterling. We have more than just SAS
Mignolet has done a few too many mistakes, but yeah he's better than most goalies in the league
Henderson is not a good player, he's an average player surrounded by good players, sterling could be a promising young talent, but much like good young english talent, they never get anywhere.
Yeeeee yeeee yeeeee I can say the same about Ramsey.
What you on about? Ramsey's been better this season than any of your midfielders. Your midfield is average at best, with the exception of Coutinho. Sterlings improving alot lately. Liverpool were amazing last saturday, just as amazing as Arsenal were bad. Offensively without Walcott, I think we look abysmal lately. No runners, and only infield players. Offensively, Liverpool are only equaled by Man C. Grats on your victory, but dont get ahead of yourself.
What made us look bad was setpieces, Sterling, Suarez & Sturridge, not your midfield
just ignore the jelly us trolls...HAH!!!! American Football IS the real football! bahahaha
i agree the England team has been overrated, not for years, i really tought that the team in south Africa could do something with Gerrar and Lampard in their peek and Rooney playing the way he can, with a solid defence lead by Terry when you look at it you should have been up there looking at the names alone, just somehow you seem to lack the passion and chemistry, maybe too many egos?
plus trying to make your players like Henderson, Downing, Millner, Carrol stars via media certanly doenst help ur squad. hell i even think Walcott is crap.
HAH!!!! American Football IS the real football! bahahahaLet's minus-bomb the clueless one!
What made us look bad was setpieces, Sterling, Suarez & Sturridge, not your midfield
Phew. So glad we won that game.
How was Arsenal-United? Heard United was ultra defensive.
There seem to be a lot of Arsenal supporters in here. How do you like you chances against Bayern? How do you fare against teams that like to control the ball all the time (like Bayern or Barcelona)?
I will be there to support "my" team

three-and-a-half-years (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-26562558)
I don´t think that belongs in the football thread :D
Poor Wenger
His fault. Rules of a competition are simple, spend shitload of money on footballers to play in the big league. It's best if money comes from shady sources, like arab-oil money or russian-crime money. He's not willing to do that and as result Arsenal is getting wrecked every time they face a strong team. And they always are man down.
Only poor side in this case are fans who pay big money to be able to support little league team like Arsenal.
Oh but I think it does. It shows the famous German integrity that we hear so much about, how they take good care about their finances, etc, etc.

- London won the rights to host the Olympic Games, rebuilt Stratford and then hosted the event.

- Juventus have been relegated, promoted and won back to back league titles.

So long David Moyes, I thought they'd give him a bit more time......lets see how Ryan Giggs copes with being a player-manager, I hope he succeeds, one of the last remaining active football legends, alongside Javier Zanetti.
Edit: the grim reaper on last match vs Everton was right:(click to show/hide)
now this is unbelieveble, my fucking team just got censored
as an f c interchocolate chip cookieonale supporter i must say that giggs is so much greater than zanetti. sorry but to me you just can't compare them.

I mean the mood within the German media in the last days was all like "Omg, Guardiola's style of play is so overrated"...
Hope chelsae or real win this year, one has one of those few coaches that don't have to insult everyone to get his team together, the other, well as an inter supporter seeing mou and samuel lifting that cup again would make me happy
I hope Galatasaray wins it.
Their fans should be banned from football matches.Couldnt agree more
jose mourinho is such a hypocrite
Hope for Atletico vs. Real in the final. Either of them to win is fine by me. Did not want Bayern to win, and I don't want Chelsea to win.
Wtf is anti-football though? Playing defensively is as much a part of the game as attacking and evidently effective as well.

oh poor bagge, nothing too this year ay? P:
What? Liverpool still has a shot on winning the league MR 8-)
(oh and ANYONE winning the title is better than artificial soulless crap like City & Chelsea ).
must say I'm quite bored of hearing this shit over and over again.

Leeds....ah, Leeds.....I always wondered why people from that area have these similar recognizable mugs, as if they all came from the same nest:
if you are a masochist/hipster/"traditionalist" that only likes loser teams and doesn't have the desire to see them preform at the highest level on the biggest of stages fine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inbreeding
TBH if they don't win it this year they won't be winning it anytime soon. This was supposed to be their year, they played some great football and I don't understand how they can allow it to (possibly) slip under their fingers like that. I really believed (and hoped) for them to win it, not that I'm their greatest fan but they deserved it with some brilliant displays and consistency (oh and ANYONE winning the title is better than artificial soulless crap like City & Chelsea ).
The problem is that next season Brendan Rogers's (and his team's) weaknesses will start showing up, BIGTIME, as it usually happens after a brilliant season or two. Especially considering the fact that they'll play some more matches and will need a wider squad.
Betting question of the day: can Man City beat Everton as well as Tottenham to win at West Ham ? :?:
If you don't win the league this year, Stevie G will retire without title and Suarez will become newest addition to Real Madrid Star Squad. Good thing is that you're against shitty club such as Man City.
mostly truth; I'm still waiting for these apes to be beaten up by police just like in england; they basically delayed the match start just to be sure the napoli's supporter hadn't died. and ofc stewards let them do what they want. also the roma supporter who shot 3 napoli supporters got beaten up, got his legs amputee or however is written.
Suarez isnt coming to Madrid we don't need him. Karim is 10x better.
wait, you mean the guy from Roma that got beaten up got his leg amputated because of the beating? Not sure I understand.
yes. roma supporter provoked these napoli supporter with insults and throwing them firecrackers, so about 10 napoli's supporter approached him and he took out his gun. shot 3/4 times, one was thought to be dead (he survived) and then they started beating him. the napoli's ultras (hooligans) didn't want the match to start because they wanted to be sure the napoli guy wasn't dead, and police let them delay the match.
Lol. Time to get back to the mental hospital

Suarez is a thieving racist little cunt, his tears are probably fake and don't move me one bit.
This season he's practically been flawless with that shit. Let bygones be bygones.

Vulpes pilum mutat, non mores
I prefer Agüero over Suarez personally. I find both of them better than Benzema, although they're different types of players.
Benzema isn't a pure 9. He's more of a playmaker: improves the whole team's play and crafts some nice assists. It's too bad he just can't score. If he would, then he'd be easily one of the bests out there. I'd still pick him over Suarez for my team blindfolded regardless. Agüero is another story.
Ross Mccormack 43 Games 28 Goals GPG = 0.65
Benzema 33 games 17 goals GPG = 0.51
Easy really
They showed the same potential last season, but they werent as consistent as this season. I dont think its a "lucky season". Nor do I believe Suarez will leave or that they dont finnish top 4.
So many experts in this thread, yet you clearly dont even watch more than the top games or your favorite team play :?

No title this year for Mr Rodgers. He was doing great but then he got so full of himself as season was progressing to an end, no wonder him and his crew failed. I'm sad for Gerrard, but glad that bastard of a coach lost big time. Bet his former wife is happy as well.
Hope our guys won't fail at the finishing step to finally win something in last 10 years...
you know absolutely nothing of Rodgers or Liverpool.

Nope, that budget was before Suarez was sold
to me it looks like they spent the money knowing that the Suarez sale would go through.
Dont know why Liverpool did not block the Sanchez deal, it seems silly to me.
lol another year of shit signings for Liverpool
Tbh, I'm quite happy with the signings so far. I think Lambert is a solid player and I really like Lallana. Emre Can is an exciting signing as well, he's only 20 years old, need to give him some time to adapt.
I expect 2-3 more good signing from the Suarez sale.
What do you think about Lebron going back to Cleveland?
because basketball is le ghey :P
Barcelona will not be allowed to publicly unveil new £75million signing Luis Suarez while he remains banned for biting, FIFA has confirmed.
Suarez is due to complete his move from Liverpool in the next few days, and the Catalan club has previously introduced star signings including Neymar and Cesc Fabregas to packed stadiums.
There have been suggestions Barcelona could hold a similar event for Suarez in a non-football venue to get around the four-month ban imposed on the Uruguay striker for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini, but FIFA has now confirmed to Press Association Sport that any such event will not be permitted while the ban remains in force.

Most people I know don't really care about the FA cup tbh.
I do know english football but todays FA cup is not nearly as prestigious as it once was and it became a consolidation prize for PL losers, sry but that's just the way it is, maybe not to Hull City or Arsenal but ask the rest of PL teams and the would gladly change FA cup for PL title and a chance at Champions League.

Do you guys actually find Wellbeck good? He is good for Tottenham or some mediocre club like that, not for title contenders.
Can't be worse than Sanogo & Giroud, besides - playing alongside Walcott & Oxlade-Chamberlain might be interesting to see, add Sterling & Sturridge and that's how England's front lines should look like, 5 young black Lions that would tear the enemy apart with their pace and mobility in general, if they a decent central midfielder behind them who could pass a ball behind opposition defense England would rock.
The 12 stages of Arsenal fans reacting to Danny Welbeck's move to the Emirates (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/12-stages-arsenal-fans-reacting-4150792)These 20 titles must be your pain, huh?

Fucking love all the man city haters, I'm pretty sure other top 5ish clubs have spent more or around about the same amount on players as man city.
They just did it at the correct time.
No great historylooooool, don't even get me started on my clubs history, we'd be a top 5 team easily.
History gets you shit I'm afraid. It's something that fans fall back on when they see their club sucking but talking about it just sounds like whining.

But thats why people hate them, they bought their success. No great history like Liverpool, Man U etc, No good youth set up like Arsenal. Just some cunt arab with billions buying all the best players from the world. Thats not football, thats cancer.
must say I'm quite bored of hearing this shit over and over again. all the "tradition" and similar bs that goes over the lips of loser team supporters yet when some money comes in the club everybody forgets that. money buys tradition and that is true for every big club in Europe today no exceptions, only difference is some started pouring money in the club years ago, some just recently, money now spent is bigger and reconstruction of the team doesn't take 5 years anymore but in one or two seasons you are title contenders.
if you are a masochist/hipster/"traditionalist" that only likes loser teams and doesn't have the desire to see them preform at the highest level on the biggest of stages fine, I have nothing against that but pls keep that "no soul modern football" to your local pub QQ or jump in a time machine back when football was played properly by poor harbor workers. yes the players today are sissies, kids in general are, yes the trends in todays game sometimes seem boring, but the lack of money will not help that.
btw. I'm all for salary cap like they have in NBA and max limit on transfers
But thats why people hate them, they bought their success. No great history like Liverpool, Man U etc,
Look at AC Milan, great club, which is shit now, cause without money history means nothing. And everyone's history has to start at some point, why not now?
And please don't star with arab's money, who cares whose money they spend. Also look at the front of the Barcelona's shirts, whose logo you see there? Let's not be hypocrites.

So, Eero Markkanen, a finnish player has been taken out to Real Madrid's Champion's League troop. He played in JJK and tought about quitting football because it was such a bad club, and barely getting payed. AIK, a swedish team that I support then bought him, six months later, Zinedine Zidane looked him up and flew to Sweden to see him play, he signed a contract with him so he could join Real Madrids B-Squad, Real Madrid Castilla, and now he's been taken out to Real Madrid's Champion's League troop, playing along Ronaldo, Benzema, Kroos and many more. What a leap!
I doubt he thought about quitting football because it was a bad club, since he was also a supporter of the club, standing in the "ultra" (which is not very ultra in Finland) section before he made it into the first team. Also he would have gotten a better contract from bigger clubs in Finland if AIK hadn't been interested.
But anyway it's a great leap, and I believe he has chances to actually play, if Real have secured their spot in the play-off before the last group rounds.

soo is arsenal planning on changing their manager or what?
soo is arsenal planning on changing their manager or what?
Because of League Cup? Not really, Arsenal always play youngsters (academy players) in League Cup and they usually last till quarter finals, sometimes semi-finals. This year Arsenal was facing second best in form team in the whole league which decided to play their near best team in League Cup which is unusual for top tier sides. As a result, they barely won the match, mainly because Rosicky fucked up. It obviously meant a lot for them because they started wasting time against Arsenal B team since 50tish minute. Also they have maybe the best goalie in the league, Forster, who saved impossible when Alexis was 3 meters in front of goal.
All in all a good match for Arsenal, team incredibly short on defenders. Young players who played in defense weren't actually bad, both goals weren't their mistakes. First one was Rosicky making old man's tackle and second was goalkeeper doing whatever he was doing (but he saved some remarkable attempts after that). Ospina is a great goalie, just like our first choice but both have their own kryptonite. Sczecny does stupid things in front of goal and is indecisive, which is the reason why Arsenal concedes on set pieces. Ospina's weakness are free kicks, as David Luiz shown against Chile
At this moment, Arsenal is still a bit out of form and lacks concentration all over the pitch (finishing and defending mostly) and yet still is one of the better teams at the moment and genuine title contender, unlike trainwrecks like Man Utd and Liverpool (won't even mention Spuds, they are crap).
Next game is on Sunday, league game against Tottenham who are the team Gunners hate the most and direct rival for over a century. We have to win that one and that is the reason Arsenal played second team against SOU. It was a bit thing for SOU to win that match because they haven't won against Arsenal for over two decades. But in reality, that cup is second grade trophy, barely better than Community shield which isn't even considered a trophy. Capital One or League cup is the trophy that makes season worthwhile for QPR/WBA/Hull but for top flight teams that trophy can't save the season. Arsenal won FA Cup (which is same rank cup as Copa Italia/Copa del Rey) and most of the public was unimpressed and still consider previous Arsenal season as failure. Until Arsenal win Premier League or Champions League, they'll keep bullying the club.
To answer the question: Arsenal will change the manager when current resigns or retires. Hopefully he'll be able to pick his successor and I believe atm he has an eye for young MK Dons manager Karl Robinson who plays very similar football as Wenger and should lead MK to Championship and maybe even to Premiership in few years time. Arsenal is currently in the process of turning back to English roots, hopefully that includes player buyout of the club so that American and Russian asshole businessmen can go somewhere else and stop stealing from the Arsenal account.
Wenger is one of the few manager who is educated (master in economics),
You folks need to realize that current state of international football is a mess and that clubs are deliberately being pulled into massive debts. Serious mobsters and criminals are running international football scene. At one point bubble will burst and many clubs will go down under. Wenger is there to make sure Arsenal isn't one of them.
Wenger is one of the few manager who is educated (master in economics), which translates into Arsenal being the only English club without debt, despite building expensive stadium. But that will change because American dipshit owner wants to steal the money in the same way Glazers did with Man Utd.

Just look what Perez is doing with Real Madrid. He's spending state budget on those ridiculous transfers, then his construction firm as a part of that deal signs a contract to build some shit somewhere. That money isn't going back to Real Madrid, but to Perez pockets. That is why Real is 600 million euros in debt and rising, despite having record revenue. He is hurting Spanish state, the club and its supporters. But they are blinded with Galacticos bullshit and trophies they win from time to time. One day they'll wake up in state of bankruptcy, without a job and with Germans telling them what to do (same thing already happened to Ireland, Greece and Portugal). That is because Spain is corrupted state and as it goes in such states, big football clubs are actually the most corrupt institutions.
@Strudog: Klopp is a great coach but he's batshit crazy. Can't see him as next Arsenal manager, not after calm and reasonable Arsene. They could sign Mourinho if they want successful egomaniac and crazy person. Main reason why he is shitting so much on Arsene is because he wants to be in his place. For Mourinho main goal is to coach Barcelona, after that comes Man Utd and then Arsenal.
? you even ask why? He's a loser and the fact he's polite doesn't change the fact he cannot do any good to the club anymore at the moment, I like him too as a person, surely billions of times more than mourinho (doesn't take much p:). and the fact he has a master in economics (?) doesn't mean anything; there are other people who manage that stuff better, more focused and better prepared. the society needs to give a strong signal to the squad, (un)fortunately football is played and managed by people and unfortunately these psychological tools need to be used from time to time.

After this match which was almost lost it is safe to say that Wenger should go. Tottenham drawed against fucking Partizan Belgrade in Europa League, which is crappiest team known to mankind and now they take 2 points from Arsenal on Emirates. Go kill yourself Arsene, Mourinho is right about everything he said about you...
That explains it.
No denying that Arsenal went through tough spell in last few years. That doesn't change Wenger lost his touch. He's bought 2 offensive midfielders for 50 and 40+ mln euro, then keeps one of them out of his natural posiotion and second one on the bench, because, as he says, he has 10 players who want to play as no. 10. At the same time he has no striker and no DM. lel
We'll see about that next week when Mourinho rips him a new one.
I'm not a manager, not even football coach but I know perfectly well how to play against Wenger's Arsenal. It's way too simple actually. Pull back everyone, strengthen the sides, tell defenders to watch for cute little crosses (Jack Wilshere, master of passing into nothing hopping that teammates read his mind), wait for their overconfident midfielders lose the ball (they wouldn't lose it in any other League because ref would call a foul, but in England you can play rugby from time to time), then counterattack and go against slow as fuck Mert. Simple as that and works every time. Because fucking Arsenal always play the same! Do you remember when Arsenal was godlike tier and no one could defend against them? Well one game something happened, some manager figured it out and placed proper defense against Wenger's time for the first time in years and it worked. Since then magic was gone and Arsenal started struggling. Until this very day. Soon there will be 10 year anniversary of that moment when Wenger's tactics became publicly known to every manager in England.
If Wenger tries to go for win against Chelski, which he will do because there is no other choice and frankly, Arsenal can't defend. He will be humiliated, again. Mourinho will place that einstein jugend on one wing and Hazzard on the other and they will mess the Arsenal on counterattacks so bad, Jack will be so pissed he'll do something overly stupid and get a loong suspension. Rest will just be sulking around the pitch for last 60 minutes, after they conceded 5 goals in just 30 mins.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out, every single football aficionado knows this very well.
Wenger is too stubborn and doesn't seem to know how to set up his team to counter other team's strengths or weaknesses.
Arsene is one of the best managers in the world whether you like to disagree with it or not.
British football is joy to watch because it is very competitive but it lacks finesse and actual tactics. That's why English teams suck cock in CL, there's no silly referees to promote rough style of play.
Pretty sure it's Draxler
In the last ten years English, Spanish and Italian teams have won the champions league 3 times with one German team making up 10. How you get this idea that English teams "suck cock" in the champions league is beyond me. Seems like an age of parity if anything.
Sorry, Spanish teams 4 times and Italian teams twice.
Sure the EPL teams are not doing amazing but really poor?(click to show/hide)
My favourite thing to hear from fake football fans is that playing defensively is bullshit and that winning that way is not a "real win" as if every team has to attack for it to be legit. This is so asinine that it borders on retardation. Playing attacking football against a team with speed and a good attack is suicide unless you can match it.
It's called strategy, that's how weaker teams beat stronger teams. It's not luck, sure it may not be pretty but it's smart.
Looking at the players and the amount of money they have I expect more from them.

And Chelsea in 2012 were luckiest winner ever, parking the bus in their penalty area since the first whistle
Italian football is crap, no one is watching that beside Italians themselves. I used to watch it before, when they attracted big stars. But right now with bunch of failed foreigners and rest being anonymous Italian players, hell no.
Whenever Italians pull of that crap (catenaccio) during major international championship, you can see everybody else hating their national them and cheering for them to lose. Whole world was cheering for equally boring Costa Rica just because Italians left a really bad taste during few previous World Cups.
Not even Italians are fan of that crap, they can't fill average 40000 seat stadium most of the time in Serie A.
In Spain, managers who do that shit can be successful and win stuff but get sacked regardless of good results. Capello got sacked because of shit football Real Madrid was playing despite winning the title that year. For same reason Mourinho had to leave Spain, no one likes him in there. Actually no one except loser Chelski fans like that motherfucker. Period.
know anything about arrigo sacchi, a man who changed football?
Sacchi was never a professional football player (he had played as a part-time footballer in amateur clubs for some years) and for many years worked as a shoe salesman. This led to his famous quote to the ones that questioned his qualifications: "I never realized that in order to become a jockey you have to have been a horse first".
lol is this guy for real? know anything about arrigo sacchi, a man who changed football? you said you used to watch italian football, guess why, because it was the top league for 15 years. now it's shit because there is no money, which is what makes teams win anything since 1975, at least 70% of wins are linked to general wealth. don't act so cocky just because for one year a team that didn't spend lots of millions ALMOST managed to win, bitch pls. italian football lost its appeal because it lost money, that's why stadoums are mostly empty these years; it's not like Italians hate defensive playstyle, the fact is they love to win, and italian are known to be master tacticians, where south american are more spectacular and skillful, spanish are similar, english are physical and so on; but ye, I guess you like leagues where a team wins the league on march ( sure as hell it wouldn't have happened in italy), I'd love to see those cocky english team playing in the italian league where you struggle even against the last one (because those team put their hearts and drain every single resource they have to make good impressions against big teams, not like in england where 85% of the games are already decided mostly ( that said I love premier league)).
really Darmaster? the Premier league is one of the most exciting leagues in the world, there are about 5-6 teams going for the title, and the rest are not just cannon fodder. Look at recent results, 5-3 Leisceter v Man U , 1-0 Stoke v Man City, Aston Villa v Liverpool 1-0. This is what makes the English premier league more exciting than any other league around the world.
The Spanish League is normally between two teams. German League is a two team League, Italian league i have never watched because i have never seen the appeal.
Just look at Falkas chart, just shows you where the best football is.
Looking at the players and the amount of money they have I expect more from them.Kinda surprising numbers if you don't follow football on detail and then look at the 2 clubs who played in the CL final 2013.

strudog i remember you mentioned in this thread you started following football recently (either you or osiris :/ ), which, if true, explains a lot of things.
Probably Leshma, since he has a problem with "veteran" referee Martin Atkinson, who's been around since Leshma's early childhood, or in other words: since 2005. The guy's been around for Leshma's whole elementary school, including the one grade he might've repeated.
Chelsea and man city are both small clubs, amazing what money does in football.
And how do you judge who is a small club and who's a big club? Titles? Money? How long it's existed? Players? They're both big clubs, clearly, but you could argue for how long they've been big clubs.
History, fan base and merchandise sold. Money doesn't make you a big club.
Look at last time chelsea were in the championship (2nd tier) they averaged 15k fans
Look at Leeds United last time they were in the 3RD tier of English football averaging 24k
Leeds are now a small club. History, means bugger all if you can't sustain it into the future.
pls falka that is my team that lost :(
Posted by: jtobiasmLets see if your non stop leeds are a bigger club bs has any basis in fact

There is an entire chapter in Sir Alex Ferguson's autobiography devoted to Arsene Wenger but even now, one year on, you have to wonder whether the Arsenal manager has actually read it. Especially pages 188-189. It is about the tactic that Ferguson devised for playing Wenger's team; a tactic that helped Manchester United win 10 out of the 14 matches they played in the last five seasons of Ferguson's tenure.
"In later years we learned more about Arsenal's thinking," wrote Ferguson. "Arsene had a template of how he sees his players and the way they play. We didn't need to win the ball against Arsenal, we needed to intercept it. You need good players who can intercept."
Ferguson then noted how Cesc Fabregas would nearly always "twist the pass round the corner then run to get it back on the other side of the defender" for Arsenal. Ferguson's instruction to his players was thus: "Stay with the runner, intercept the pass, then counter-attack quickly". The space for those counter-attacks was usually to be found in the wide positions where, whether home or away, Arsenal's full-backs were invariably lingering in their opponents' half in the often naïve expectation that their team-mate would not lose the ball.
They don't make 'em like this anymore:(click to show/hide)
Typical arsenals fans, complain about the turks setting off flares. Then they do it themselves. Worst fans in the country
Wasn't that bad. Biggest crime was boring match from Arsenal side which is a rare thing to see. Also, wish Welbeck broke that prick's leg off. Subhuman scum, just like Costa and Mourinho. They are perfect for each other.
Hope that Arsenal will never again give so much to another Spanish player. They don't deserve it.
You're fucking sick.
Well yeah, but he kinda shit his pants when 15 year older man pushed him. Was pretty quiet till the end. Will press charges probably. Typical little man, piece of shit who is loud on words but is a coward when it comes to slight physical confrontation. This was the biggest win of the season: http://zippy.gfycat.com/UnhappyMeagerKillerwhale.webm
Shame this is the real world and Wenger is not the Mountain, in my fantasy I totally seen Mourinho eyes bleeding out while his punny brain has been squashed.
lol, what?
PS. BOth of them are whining sissies.
wasn't really unexpected. We cant defend and our attack was afraid to shoot from outside the box. Was only a matter of time before they killed us on the counter attack
I'm not the biggest fan of Mourinho but hating someone that much is both cringeworthy, disgusting - and slightly funny.
That kind of hatred is only reserved for Sir Alex Fergicunt :PFU
Thing is, this time you can't blame Flamini or Mertesacker. Not their fault. Arsenal's best defender and maybe the best player so far this year was abysmal today. I'm talking about Koscielny. Can't blame him too hard for penatly, but it was mistake. Class defender would get proper tackle there. But second goal goes on him because he wasn't pushing forward, which would leave Costa in offside.
What does this have to do with Arse ne Wenger and Arse nal?(click to show/hide)

Hull's supporters (it's London's club? no clue).
Etihad Stadium Capacity = 47,726
They get an average attendance of 47,080 in their home games.
Why do you gotta be so cuntish all the time?
hahahahahaha deutschland got beat by a country that doesn't even exist
Poland doesn't exist (again!)? Did I miss something?
So, you're one of those plastic fans of Financial Group FC? Which is successful only because it lured half of Arsenal players in past 5 years, by throwing blood arab money in front of them.
You know what's funny? Man City stadium is called Emptihad, while Emirates is always filled with people no matter the game.
Why is there Töre in the Turkish squad even if he threatened Calhanoglu and Toprak with a gun? Would make more sense if he would be excluded rather than that Töres victims are out of the team because they fear him. Also why isn't he in jail?

Loved Southampton stuffing Sunderland
Wenger is one of the few manager who is educated (master in economics), which translates into Arsenal being the only English club without debt, despite building expensive stadium. But that will change because American dipshit owner wants to steal the money in the same way Glazers did with Man Utd.
You folks need to realize that current state of international football is a mess and that clubs are deliberately being pulled into massive debts. Serious mobsters and criminals are running international football scene. At one point bubble will burst and many clubs will go down under. Wenger is there to make sure Arsenal isn't one of them.
This is coming from someone who is team Wenger, all the way.
Then you'll keep supporting him when he finds another club to manage. I'm an Arsenal supporter, not Wenger fanboy.
You seem to be stuck in year 2008. Right now Arsenal is the club which pays higher salaries than Chelsea, has bigger income and budget, much higher ticket price and bigger stadium. Wenger had an excuse few years ago, when he had no budget to spend on transfers. But last two years he spent more than during previous 16 years. Profit Arsenal makes is paid as dividend to Stan Kroenke, the major shareholder.
And it's became obvious that Arsene without Pat Rice isn't a good manager.
He's not the only one obsessed with Arsenal, Mourinho is even more obsessed. I bet he would take the job running if Wenger was sacked two years ago. Only reason why he's at Chelsea is because he had nowhere else to go at that point. He knows Arsenal has bigger budget these days and wants to be on helm. That is why every fucking week he is bantering about Wenger and Arsenal, even if no one is asking for his opinion.
Finally some useful Turks. It's not easy to bet against Partizan, got many menacing looks while I was placing a bet on Besiktas.
Chelsea's new stadium will be the same "souless" type, that's the way new stadiums are.
Interesting about that video is that creator is member of M&B2 dev team.

I can see where you're coming from & it makes sense, however, I believe that in Greece, the problem of violence, hooliganism, property destruction & football are, it seems a 'national' sport.
I witnessed a 'simple' football match between two small country towns, where a decision of the referee, caused mayhem, violence & destruction beyond belief....the policeman called, trying to shield the referee, was also concerned for his well being, as he whisked him away to a car & drove away from this crazy mob of .....what can you call them.....id1ots....that's too kind.
The prize money may have been a barrel of olive oil & few kilos of feta...at most.
Locals explained to me , in their broken English, that " This was only a 'mild' little battle", embarrassed, that I may go away thinking that, that's the worst they can do.
I saw televised basketball games, where the riot police, in full gear, trotting in the isles just before the end of the game, shields, batons in hand, helmets getting prepared for a riot (?)....they knew something that I didn't.....it resembled one of those old western movie bar fights – one in all in....but in Greece it was for real.
Children grow up in this atmosphere of madness and it seems that the 'tradition' carries through....pity for a nation steeped in historical significance in relation to philosophy, sport ( Olympics) mathematics, politics, medicine & so many other physical & social sciences, to end up, with a significant population of clowns.
the third round of the FA Cup is one of the most traditional weekends in the English football calendar, when teams from the lower leagues get the chance to come face to face with Premier League giants, who only enter the competition in January.
But the FA and the television channels broadcasting the competition have threatened the fabled magic of the cup by drawing the matches out, selecting no live games on Saturday and failing to broadcast several small teams, many in need of a cash boost, instead choosing relatively mundane all-Premier League ties.
Saturday will see no live matches,

djavo how's this brozovic?
Could be dangerous for Madrid there, if he gets the 3 match ban (which I doubt he will) he'll miss three pretty big games, Sociedad who beat Barcelona and Atletico this season, Sevilla and Atletico as well. All three could be dropped points with him there, without him it would be worse.
So Ronaldo got 2 matchesOnly 2, only because ...
Wtf is wrong with Spanish football lately?... corrupt federation and referees.
I hope to the high heavens that Costa gets 3 for also acting like a moron.

Pardon?
EPL teams were unlucky.
f Messi wants that to happen (dude is the best fucking footballer that ever played this sport, period).
Juventus will be sacrificed if they get Barca or Bayern (think of 7-0 or worse on aggregate)
so pl has some of the best football in the world right? no? oh you mean it has THE best football in the world? oh ok!
3rd season in a row. BPL is shit and yes, it's the only league I watch at the moment.
I don't like him, little cunt, but hard to argue with that.
Gigi won't let it happen.
Serie A still shittier :P
And Arsenal is second best team in England, despite what results and table show.
liverpool went full retards this yearDescription of Gerrard and Skrtel in last match

It's about time they won something
Not deserved. Just hate watching Barca play. Fucking bunch of whiners. Not deserved? They beat the champions of England, France, German and Italy.
But if its not the American crap than it is called "futball" I thought.... or soccer in english.... Maybe I just suck at foreign language.
Yes because ENGLISH language comes from US not England, and obviously English people calling the game football 150 years ago actually mean't to call it soccer but didn't realise their mistake untill the murica master race pointed it out and the fact football is actually a proper name for a game played 90% of the time by hand. Thank you murica, you save the day again!

Solid, dependable and a safe pair of hands, you’re basically Tony Pulis. You might not be fashionable but you’re effective – mid-table beckons.
You scored 55 out of 100
Jose, is that you? You’re ruthless, cunning and won’t let anything get in the way of your team succeeding.
You scored 84 out of 100

Brendan, is that you? Sometimes ruthless, sometimes democratic, you can make the tough decisions , even if occasionally you get them wrong. You are confident you know best – but you’ve not quite proven yourself at the very highest level yet.
I see that the Swans are off to a decent start for the season, 1-1 against Chelsea. I am not a footballing man so I would be interested to see who you guys would have as your favourites for this seasons premier league.
They shouldn't even be in the fuckin league
Why do you hate Swansea? :?
Probably because they're Welsh.
Ohhh here we go
What's the difference between Arsenal and half the population of Syria?

Doubt Mourinho will get sacked.
All those calling for it are idiots as well.

I seriously thought it was a joke when I heard the news. These two numbskulls couldn't manage a teddy bears' tea party. The Valencia players will soon see right through these clowns. They are off our screen which is the best news ever and I might start listening to Sky commentary again.
No one wants to win the premier league this year
maybe in UK history. Kaiserslautern won the German league after being promoted which is a season quicker than Leicester manager but still a pretty impressive feat
How Dier avoided a red in the end, I will never know. Walker has been kicking out in recent matches too.
Now I'm sure how weak referee Mark Clattenburg is.
Uefa has confirmed that the English official Mark Clattenburg will referee the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid, on 28 May at the San Siro in Milan.
On 5 March 2013, Çakır officiated the UEFA Champions League match between Manchester United and Real Madrid, and, in a controversial[8] decision, sent off Manchester United player Nani for serious foul play during the second half of the match, a decision that enraged Sir Alex Ferguson in what became his last Champions League game as United manager.
Not that Germans were any better, but I don't really expect from robots to play exciting football. They are great at winning tho.
