But hey, when there is a football match on the screen, the Spanish people forget about their problems, they enjoy having what they consider "the best teams in the world", they enjoy and celebrate (drinking in the street, ofc, hardly noone has the money to go to a pub to celebrate) when the national team wins anything, forgetting for a while about the tons of politicians and public figures (son's son-in-law) being investigated and in some cases judged...
Last time I went back, the news and TV programs were more than half the time occupied with sports (and bullfighting).
