Launcher doesnt work for me. I got non steam version, dont know if that matters. It says that i got a non supported version of warband but i was playing with the only one u could do it.

I think kesh had the same problem on the last update. I fixed it avoiding the use of autopatcher and downloading cprg.zip again and overwriting, but now it wont work. :(

Hmmm, "The master server is being updated, try again in a few minutes." sounds like an imporvement over yesteday's "access to socket server denied" (or something like that) to me.

What about a seperate downloadable file again?

wtf, i am like the only guy in cRPG to 3x loom a turban helmet and they have twice nerfed it???  I had 40 head armor, they dropped it to 24, now this new .252 drops it to 22 head armor.  Do they fucking hate people that dress in Arabian gear????

What other item lost HALF its armor???  Seriously.

Wow, so fail.  Now they can polearm stunlock you while also knocking you down.


DID THE DEVELOPERS EVEN LOOK AT THE POLLS IN GAME BALANCE DISCUSSION???  WHAT WAS THE POINT OF AL THOSE OVER 60% YES SURVEYS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO MEAN YOU WOULD MAKE CHANGES!!!  THOSE WERE ALL IGNORED!

YaY, light armour is now heavier! Bodkins do 2 less dmg  on mw! Langes Messer got nerfed! Gauntlets got nerfed! And yet, i still have to pay a shitload of money to repair my equip.

Thank you very much, i really appreciate getting nerfed every patch.

Did  I get this right: My poleaxe (although im 2h atm) has now 2 polearm modes, one deal blunt and one cut, because I can simply switch it. Very realistic, but totally FAIL in balance ...

Alt (blunt) mode deals lower damage (= worse against everyone except maybe very heavy armor) and it's slower.

This has ALWAYS been the most damaging pierce weapon and has had it on it's swings. The 25 pierce on poleaxe swing isn't something that gets close to unbalancing things. The 25 pierce one swings with 133 reach (less from animations, should be noted) is although maybe a bit unbalancing. Still, it's not that different from a morningstar so I don't see why they should change it back unless they nerf the morningstar too.

Succesfull troll is succesfull!

I can imagine how most of the weapons that have a secondary mode get flipped over and use the other side to deal damage. The warhammer uses the pointy side, the steel pick using the blunt side.
One I can't really imagine how it would work is this one:

Poleaxe is way to op now
brake sheilds in a few hits thanks to the extra damg. Then if the guy is wearing plate it dosnt matter because now you can deal P or Blunt damg to them.... broken is broken

There is no pole stagger on a weapon (mode) that also has the knockdown flag. Staggering someone and then switching to knockdown mode doesn't work either because of the small seperation delay on an alt mode change.

Weppon lenght 82 morningstar+????unblanced??  you switch sekondary mode with polleaxe and sudenly do pierce damage?? wtf.. then you knockdown etc and then switch back and do massvie cut damage?

Reinstalled Warband and last of the links you posted works. Seems it might've been something on my side ie. corrupted files. Thx.

I think the problem with armour was strength builds having over 9000 hp WITH good armour making them very hard to kill.

Kinda feeling jipped as a 1h with the patch since polearms can now pick which OP way they want to crush me.


What ever happened to returning the WPF curve back to what it was so agility isn't ^%&$ing gimp compared to pure strength builds.

Uhm why armour weight got increased so much?

Also if now weapons can do other type of damage how will people figure out which weapons turn to 2h/1h/pole mode and ones that only change damage type if you all write them secondary mode?

Yeah cant see it being unbalanced yet. If it would be people would use goedendag all the day. 117-2h balanced with 25 blunt... so it cant be that awesome.
But its probably good against those fullplatemonsters. Im ok with it.

But i dont agree that its compareable to a morningstar. It´s a secondary mode not a full weapon so morningstars pierce HAS to be way better.

I was too the other day, just use the launcher and it auto-updates for you (the version of MB Warband will still be the same, but when you load the C-RPG mod in game it will tell you the newer C-rpg version).

Glad to see the dev's were quick in addressing some of the bugs and unintended changes to the 2.50 patch.  Thanks!

I know and I agree. I'm just getting frustrated over all the idiots who complain about polearm stabs and 1h stabs doing so much pierce damage when the highest pierce damage on a weapon is the morningstars swing damage.

If I lost 10 fps I'd have -5 on the siege server. Strangely enough, it actually runs a lot smoother for me and I don't get the random freezes and drops to 5-10 fps anymore.

...by the way, for steam users just put the crpg launcher on steam>steamapps>common>mountblade warband>modules>crpg and thats it, run the laucher.

Launcher doesnt work for me. I got non steam version, dont know if that matters. It says that i got a non supported version of warband


Check on taleworlds site if you have the latest Warband version (1.143 I think it was).
If not, download Warband patch then crpg installer should work fine.
(I dont have steam neither.)

Perhaps make it possible to block after the new 2h stab has been blocked, or at least decrease the stun timer ?

As it is now you are rendered unable to block or follow up with an attack after a stab making it a dangerous gamble and definitely the most useless 2h attack as it is only worth it if you're certain you can kill your opponent with that one stab..

One thing is not being able to attack right after a stab another thing entirely is not being able to defend yourself at all.

My Warband crashes when entering menu after I installed this patch. Black screen instead of the menu with only cursor visible for a short while + crash to desktop with mb_warband.exe crash report.

Tried:
- reinstalling several times
- downloaded a fresh client
- downloading cRPG couple of times
- deleted config files
- didnt install any mods
- manually removed Kajia loading/menu screens
- DX7

There should be a wse_crash_log.txt in your cRPG/WSE directory. Upload that.

Is it cool if I ask if there might (in some distant future) be a marketplace for alts too?
I mean alts being able to trade in the same market or at least being able for players to trade between their different characters?
I got a gen6 alt (dont judge me too hard) and I went to my new main before there was a market (if I recall correctly); I wanted to use melee char for strat.

I honestly see no reaso why we couldn't trade between characters since one serial code can be used on only one computer at once so there can be no cheating or similar.

If you devs think that's stupid or impossible or whatever, I would appreciate a decent reason.

What fucking bullshit is this, they nerfed archers even more by increasing all light armors in weight, buffed medium and heavy armor by giving them less weight.....

Im gonna play more Vikingr mod, its awsome.... polearms actually break if you stab them into the ground or walls. They got healing banners that actually work, and some swet battlehorn stuff.... they do some proper modding there.

And ontop of that, they actually have a brain. They made it so there can only be 1 archer.. for every other player. so 6 players = 1 archer allowed 12 players 2 archers allowed. Smart huh ?

So i urge you devs, grow some brains... check other mods how they did it. and try agian.... FFA modding is just not appropriate for the cRPG team

I noticed that all loomed bows are less accurate than the unloomed ones.

All wm-bows get 3+damage, but only 2+accuracy...
(it should be 3+accuracy, because each damage point decreases the accuracy by 1)

Please fix this.

I have some criticisms about the balance team only making everything equally bad, but these secondary modes have distracted me.

Masterwork Military Cleaver
weapon length: 92
weight: 2.5
difficulty: 14
speed rating: 97
weapon length: 92
thrust damage: 0 pierce
swing damage: 38 cut
slots: 1

Secondary Mode
Speed rating:96
Swing damage: 27 pierce

Based on the different speed ratings, it seems the secondary mode is not benefiting from the Masterwork bonuses. Is this a bug?

Also, there is no indication of which mode I am in.

i actually also have this red text, but i do have the right warband 1143, very odd.

Didn't know about that, it seems  that some smart guys are making that mod. Too bad I'm used to c-rpg, otherwise I would check out Vikingr. Anyway from what you wrote they really seem better at developing than c-rpg dev team.

Most of them are polearm users and this mod is polearms friendly for quite some time. How about you change the class you play when you hit level 31. I can't because I'm too high level to retire now.

Or use Miaodao or something like that, spam-able, hiltslash-able and all the shit that goes with it.

If you have Vista or Windows 7, get Microsoft Security Essentials.  Actually a good AV program and it's free (does not work on Windows XP or prior).

And uninstall the other AV program.  Never run more than 1 passive scanner at a time.  Slows down your machine big time.

It works with Windows XP (the download link is a bit hidden, you have to click More languages and versions). I recommend it too.

Furthermore, they add another advantage to polearmers. I think the devs got butthurt due to skillfull 2 handers. The weapons aint the problem, it's just skillfull ppl who use them. The imbalance in this game Is ridiculous and I expect to see a lot more polearms and hardly Any two handers left. I for one will be changing back to poles. But good fucking job devs in "balancing" gameplay. I love you soooooo much for creating this awesome mod but the changes were just unnecessary. They should have looked at archers and the supernatural pole stuns. This was stupid and I want my poleaxe back that I just fucking sold. For me the new stab is fine because I'm not the stabity stab wh0re. I'll need some time to adjust the aim because this old/new animations aims lower than previous slow ass animation, mainly for dehorsing cavarly.

Other changes seem fine, I think that I actually lost some weight on my armour. Throwing is a bit annoying tho, they hit me harder because I have less armour now. Archers hurt a little bit less than what I'm used to and bolts seems to do more damage.

He's got 4GB ram, and an okay CPU.

Warband, especially in a cRPG scale, isn't THAT VGA dependant. It's more about ram and cpu.

Is it cool if I ask if there might (in some distant future) be a marketplace for alts too?
I mean alts being able to trade in the same market or at least being able for players to trade between their different characters?
I got a gen6 alt (dont judge me too hard) and I went to my new main before there was a market (if I recall correctly); I wanted to use melee char for strat.

I honestly see no reaso why we couldn't trade between characters since one serial code can be used on only one computer at once so there can be no cheating or similar.

If you devs think that's stupid or impossible or whatever, I would appreciate a decent reason.

To clarify, I played battle again after a 2 month pause yesterday, what do I see? The entire enemy archer team camping the fucking roof (two roofs actually, to make it even gayer).
After I hit 31 I'll just stick to the duel server, because this roof camping shit is too frustrating.

Maybe this is wrong place to post this but: is there any way to make launcher use different icon of warband.exe ?

Reason I am asking is that, before launcher was required to run CRPG, I could've used a shortcut to warband.exe with different icon. I need this since this is semi-public computer and sometimes I need to alt tab out of the game and people may wonder what is this horse icon on my taskbar.

you can change the icon of the WSELauncher, or create a shortcut for it.

All of the secondary modes added in the last patch are "flip" modes (i.e. the grip doesn't change, the weapon is flipped 180°).
Only those who start the game using the launcher will see the weapon flipped in-game.

You can change the setting in module.ini (hide_other_mod_servers).

About the launcher, is there a way to set it to autorun the update/run cRPG procedure when you start it (double click the icon) without pressing the "play" button?

I added an -a (or --autostart) command line parameter in the new version (0.4a). Just make a shortcut with that and you won't need to press it ever again. It should be up in a couple minutes.

i have a problem, I update crpg to .252 with v0.3 updater, at the end of the updating it says im running an unsuported version of warband wse only works with 1.143, wtf?! i have 1.143!, so i ignore it, enter the game, loads correctly, but as soon as i get to main menu, WARNINGS pop out, "you need to be runing wse bla bla" so i download the latest wse. As instructions said, i put it anywhere, i edit the settings. run the wse, and it says "WSE path: C:/users/blabla/dsktop/WSE 2.4.0 could not find warband exe or dedicated exe. ?! Do i need to edit WSE path? where ? there is no such thing to edit(or at least i dont see it) in wse_settings. Then i try to extract wse into my root warband folder and run it, but it says" you are runing unsuported version , only runs on 1.143" wtf?! I HAZ 1 143 !

Go to your Warband directory, open rgl_log.txt, copy everything and paste it here.

I have the same messages when not playing trough the cprg updater. I just ignore it and the game works fine.

People have been complaining about polestun/stagger since the begging of C-rpg History, you guys seriously have some thing with polearms since all i see is buff after buff. Alot of people where complaining during the days of the crush though morning star, that got removed because it is 2h. Alot of people were complaining during the days of the Barmace crushthrough (TBH no one even understood how that works, it was like 3 guys who knew how to use a barmace,but like 90% of those people where guys with 18 str thinking they can rape ppl.), which got nerfed in short period of time, it was a 2h weapon. People was has been saying the bec de corbin is OP for about a year no nerf, polestun no nerf. Cmon guys can you seriously just nerf polearm stun.

seriously i would have gone 36-3 with a barmace if i was reasonably good and knew how OP armor was back then

For those that have problems with the launcher... try this :

Download this :

http://download4.c-rpg.net/cRPG.zip

Extract, copy-pasta in your module folder as usual.

Then, download all the files on this page :

http://download4.c-rpg.net/WSE/

and put them in the same directory (the directory itself can be placed anywhere).

Then run WSELoader.exe (and no, there's no way around that)


(Note that this download address is precisely one of the official mirrors, used by the launcher)

Yes, thank you for this patch!  I asked to have my gloves be cheaper if you were going to take away that much from them and you did!  I also asked to re-balance out mid armor (heraldic mails) and light armors (tunic over mails) and you did!  Oh and the bec did have a nerf for a little while but I think it got rebuffed, and the bar mace def used to be OP.

NAMO I agree with you, give the nodachi 1 more speed like the highland claymore! (it has a stab and we don't  :cry:)

What you see is the "nude" server from where the launcher retrieves the files. I just modified the python code to get the URL and voilà. This is not "official" at all. I don't think anyone is bound to put all these files into a single archive just for convenience. You can do it yourself ;)

One annoyance with these armor weight changes:

It screws up throwing/wpf calculations.  I can't pick up my PT 4 axes if I wear my top suit now, because they upped the weights.

So, I just got back from vacation and had a chance to play the new patch.

I LOVE the new alt modes for weapons. Probably the best thing to ever happen to 1-handers.

Also, the armor changes are VERY noticeable but I'm glad they did it. It needed to be done. All-in-all good patch.

Should be fixed in launcher 0.4c or above (link will be updated in a couple of minutes). Probably a good idea to do a full repair, then install the custom files.

It was stated a long, long time ago that one of the reasons for no changelist/patchnotes is that if you don't know exactly what was changed then you can't whine about it.

This clearly isn't working then. In fact, it might be going the other direction. I'm sure there have been more than a few cases of whining and thread discussions about things that either aren't accurate (and wouldn't have happened if clearly presented), or about things that had good reason to be changed but we're not told about. I think the devs should have more confidence in themselves and what they're doing, not hide behind it and hope people don't gripe. That's never gonna happen. A changelog seems like the minimum requirement for patch releases (er uh, other than releasing the patch).

That being said, long love the devs who bring us this masterpiece of crack theater.

The new increase in armour weight was a little too much imo now even medium armour (Brynja) makes me move/attack as slow as heavy armour I mean wtf?

Furthermore, it is extremely risky (most items stay shit forever after being nerfed) and not as profitable as selling your heirloom point. well i experienced several heirloom nerfs... but i everytime somewhat managed to sell them. (claymore, SoW, german, etc.) but since the armors got fixed the whole line (rebalanced with even the weight decimals, so no more armor fine tuning.. finally) i don't bother too much in taking the next "most OP" armor (like the archers did with the light strange armor and how they cried for that). now i'll just stay with my stuff because moving to the next "flavor of the patch" item, just lead to a probable rebalance again.

Hi, I have a big problem after the new patch exited with new 0.4c launcher :evil:.

I dowloaded the file posted by cmpxchg8b and i used it like the old one launcher. But this time the game crashed after the end of loading (after loading Textures and INI files) and in the middle of the screen appears this:

"There was an error in Mount & Blade. The application will be closed. May have been the loss of data. Windows has created an error report that can be sent. Send, don't send."

well you also can live with the nerf rebalance. i still have my armors with weight rebalanced. one is the rus lamellar cuirass, the other is the black lamellar. anyway are all minor changes. awlpike lost 1 speed, you can live with it but you of course get less money by trading it.

so the whole system you talk about, just involve who make money trading heirlooms. since that, -100k today balance the load of gold made earlier. (or later on).

So, who stick to his actual build, no worries. who sell/trade a lot well.. it's the market  :P

Go to your Warband directory/Modules/cRPG/WSE and paste the contents from wse_crash_log.txt here.

In my WSE folder i haven't wse_crash_log txt, but the only txt files that I have are wse_log and wse_settings

If i open wse_log i see this

i suggest you to install it in:

C:\Mount&Blade Warband

rather than:

then you:
- click the game launcher M&B warband icon on desktop
- you will be prompted to continue the trial, activate or purchase
- click ACTIVATE and use your serial key
- you can then configure video settings and keys or do it later with the cRPG launcher
- download the cRPG launcher in the new freshly installed warband folder
- run the cRPG launcher, click play to download the cRPG files
- play the game

Your character is still bound to your old "Steam" key. Create a new character, enter an EU server, then PM me both character names. I'll transfer your old character to your new key.

even on mine tho i don't use it besides counterstrike, TF2. but since a lot of my old clanmates had crashes with steam, instead digging the cause (a windows service, a framework update, a visual studio runtime update, local policy issues, windows event logger, broken/modified by malware task scheduler, etc etc) going with the old and simple warband client seem to fix those problems. would take too much time and effort to use teamviewer to fix software issues for the whole community  :lol:

also steam use more resources, can cause stutter, autoupdate games by default. with the normal client there is more control over it. we have a good crpg autoupdating launcher, i just try to keep things simple.

The .NET Framework 4.0 does not include previous versions, including the one required by the launcher (2.0). 3.5 does, so install that (2.0 is OK too).

Corrado, Visual Studio is an IDE (integrated development enviroment) and is not the same thing as Microsoft Visual C++ Redist package or the framework.

Yeah, you don't really need Visual Studio files for either WSE or the launcher. You don't even need the C++ redist, the 2 required files are already in the folder. I think the only requirement is the .NET 2.0 files.

I'm having a problem. Whenever I try to install the game, the launcher just pauses partway through. It will stop randomly, and I can't get it to continue. No matter hwo many times I try, I keep getting this problem. Any suggestions?

Do you have the same issues with videos and files ? Loading normally then suddenly stopping for no apparent reason ?

Find your firewall rule for crpg-launcher then re-apply the rule (click 'ok' 'apply' etc).

I just got 1 hit from a mw crossbow (with +2 steel bolts) to the hand and died. Had 100% of my hp before it. And usually mw arba + mw steel bolts "only" take like 80% of the health by body shots.
Did u guys seriously BUFF Xbows with the update today? O_O

I just got 1 hit from a mw crossbow (with +2 steel bolts) to the hand and died. Had 100% of my hp before it. And usually mw arba + mw steel bolts "only" take like 80% of the health by body shots.
Did u guys seriously BUFF Xbows with the update today? O_O

Well it looks like they lowered the accuracy by 2 points. I cant remember the old damage so maybe they up'ed the damage?

Dude. It would be totally insane to 1shot ppl even with the crossbow now (Although it's mw and the bolts were +2). And i got lordly plate mittens and lordly heraldic mail with tabard. 58 bodyarmour. Even with the archer-armour before (Lordly studded leather coat and lordly wisbys) i survived shots from the beloved ronald mellissandro, who owns a mw arba and mw steel bolts.

You do realize that warband doesnt care whether you are hit to body or arm/hand, right? For the engine, that's still the same area. The only areas that get modified damage are head (increased damage) and calves (reduced damage) as far as I know. You can always search through cmpx posts though, to be sure.

Yeah, i know that. That's why that kill was so weird and why i was talking about my body armour, not my hand armour. =O

I have Kaspersky and disabling protection (turning off AV and FW) doesn't prevent the error.

My crossbow still has the same stats. Speed bonus is probably what did you in.

Arm and Leg are limb bones and have an 80% damage multiplier, head bones are 120% unless it is from range then it is 210%. Body and feet and hands are all "body" and thus 100% damage multiplier.

I'm pretty sure arm bones work the same as leg bones for damage modification.

As far as "hand armour" the armour it (gloves) gives adds to the "body" armour which covers everywhere but your legs and head, last I checked.

Of course, I could be wrong...
