All games you mentioned above, a lot of other games and these two:
Deus Ex:(click to show/hide)
...
Lords of the Realm 1/2 (wonder where totalwar originated from...)
decent freespace (1/2) (the other best space sim out there) even now its a beautiful game.
And the bomb in the helicopter. A suspicious sound, a dead mechanic and another nervous one. Yeah that is so unsuspicious, there is no need to check your machine.
3D Tetris

In my opinion, Deus Ex was crap.
And strategus.
ClonkClonk is the shiiiiiiit! (In a good way)
fully destructible terrain (and not on "block" terrain), fun as hell multiplayer (up to 4 players on 1 tastatur, online possible, too), thousands of mods. It had everything, spent way too much time on that game. Everytime I see that Terraria stuff I have to think about good old Clonk, beeing way more awesome and way less weaboo.

(even a freeware version avaible now: http://www.clonk.de/ce.php?lng=en )
King of Dragon Pass. Don't know it? Shame on you. See pictures in spoiler.I don't know it, but I will get it and try it out immediately. Looks awesome.
Heretic > Heretic IIWell the gameplay is very different, so you can't compare them.
Winning with the Stones of Power is frowned upon. Be a hero and kill every enemy piece.(click to show/hide)
Ok ok, socery is allowed...
Now..which foe will i imprison? The Banshee or one of those stupid Unicorns?
Jagged Alliance 2Oh yeah! I hear the community is still pretty active and making mods?
I know it isn't that old, it already has SVGA graphics, but nontheless it's a pure CLASSIC, and none of the many JA3's could reach its quality! A relatively new patch was released, putting it on version 1.13. Try it out!(click to show/hide)

Also, this had so Epic music, I was blown away back then at 1998. Frank Klepacki is a fucking genius at music writing.
Do I really have to link these two classics? 8-)

You can get Battle Chess on GOG.com for $5.99. They say it's Windows compatible but I bet it still needs DosBox. They've got tons of other classics on there too like Crusader: No Remorse and the Castles games.

God, thinking of all these games brings back a lot of memories. They also made me think of arcades which I haunted back in the day. Here is my top 3 arcade games of all time:
Golden Axe: This game was revolutionary for 1989.(click to show/hide)
[/spoiler]
The first Sonic on Megadrive! I could achieve the first levels in 29 seconds making the score counter go crazy! you had to precisely jump at some places to achieve that!
and then of course all the sonics on megadrive!
I even had the sonic & Knuckles (sonic 4 on megadrive) that would open on the top so you could add another cartridge and play knuckles in sonic 2!......sonic fans will understand what I'm talking about.
X-Com - UFO Defense (aka Unknown Enemy) : 1994 ~ Unbeatable ... still play it 2-3 times a year

Blades of Steel : 1987 ~ I wish I still had it :(
Blades of Steel is godlike, especially the voice samples.
HIT THE PASS
AHHH
There's videos of people on youtube beating the final mission in one turn, its disgusting. I never even got mind control. I think I had 2 dudes trained to use it, and even then, I just used heavy plasma, haha.

Either battling zombies in the slums of Neverwinter, or slaughtering trolls out in the deep woods, this is for sure one of the best RPG's I've ever played. This game not only got me hooked on the pc at the time, but also is what first created TheDashingRogue.

I missed trying to achieve the mission at GrandMaster rank, throwing shuriken , drinking that healing potion, slashing people .. but the best .. the silent kills with the little animations.. Priceless

Awesome theres not many people who like that version but its my fav.
I didn't really like the art/character style, but it was still really good. FF7 is still the best of all time, though.

I think these count:

Not sure what that guy does but his 'games' are hilarious and somewhat nostalgic for what they parody.
OF ALL TIME.FF7 is still the best of all time.
Anyone ever play Nox? And the multiplayer for it?
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/nox/index.html
it was 2000 - but still badass
Bah!I first started out as Saer_The_Dashing_Rogue but shortened it to TheDashingRogue when I started using it for other things. NWN2 might have been good if it had better camera effects and not such a shitty storyline. I hated the whole "born to a west harborman swamp farmer" thing. Plus defending villages has never really been my thing. After I finally got to the town in NWN2 I was struck by how empty it felt, and found myself wishing there was more going on. The companions were boring and I didn't like any of them, save neeshka, which I believe you couldn't romance with. There was also a lack of capes and annoying combat voices.
What is it with people and not using actual names for their D&D characters, I don't get it! :| :| :|
At least NWN2 allowed me to somewhat create my Warlock, but without a lot of his original awesomeness!

Is that where the main character gets sucked into a TV or crystal ball or something like that... and becomes a wizard or knight and stuff?Yes, and they're Warrior, Conjurer, and Wizard. Really great game and by far (still is) having the best magic system.
...
I am SO going to play JA at work this night! Thanks for refreshing my memory man!
ehheh i really got addicted of JA2: Unfinished Business and Wildfire...
Jagged Alliance, awesome games, played them loads with a friend as a kid, really helps one think tactically.

I was 10 when this game came out, loved it. Also Warcraft 2 was out around that time too. Baldurs Gate is another awesome game that came out a little later.
Yeah, not the oldest of oldschool but they're definately old and they're definately awesome lol.
I think the oldest awesome games I can remember are games like Alex the Kid and Outrun on the Sega Master System. I also used to play my fathers old Spectrum as a kid, with the games on tapes that took FOREVER to load and all looked like complete shit, but there were some fun games on there like Bruce Lee.
OMG OMG OMG
You're the man.. how I loved that game. It was my first real "game". And what a good one to be introduced to!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ-xcgBL1mY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ-xcgBL1mY)
I.. just..
*overwhelming amounts of flashbacks from childhood*
Warlords 3= nerd heavenWarlords was fucking amazing, remember me and my friend played it on over-nights at my place. "Burned ground" tactics and all.. oh the times :D. Sound effects on zombies or ghouls were pretty awesome too. All the rage at those battles sometimes makes me want to laugh now. Have to try that again some time.

Anyone tried Alpha Storm? It's something I only found a few month ago, but it was pretty interesting. How have I never heard of this game before? A space combat game where you can board the enemy ship and kill them all from a first person perspective? That sounds like my dream game.
Daggerfall and Ascendancy were both awesome games.
My dad randomly bought me ascendancy one day and omg i loved it so much. I must of spent as much time playing it as warband maybe lol.
