JAMES OR ANOTHER MEMBER OF ACRE HE MAY APPOINT WILL HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN THREE CHALLENGES IN ORDER TO REMAIN IN THE REALM. DIFFERENT MEMBERS MAY PARTICIPATE IN EACH OF THE CHALLENGES IF SO CHOSEN. FAILURE WILL MEAN AN IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE REALM. SUCCESS WILL MEAN REMAINING IN THE REALM. IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCES IN ONE CHALLENGE MAY NEGATE A LOSS IN ANOTHER CHALLENGE.
CHALLENGE ONE: YOU MUST WIN A FT7 DUEL AGAINST A CHAMPION APPOINTED BY THE GOBBLIN KING, IN THIS CASE FROM THE POOL OF GOBBLINS WHO DISAGREE WITH YOUR PRESENCE IN THE REALM.
CHALLENGE TWO: A SHITPOST FACEOFF WILL BE HELD ON A TOPIC CHOSEN BY THE GOBBLIN KING, AGAIN WITH JAMES OR AN APPOINTEE AND A GOBBLIN APPOINTEE. ANYONE MAY SUBMIT POTENTIAL PROMPTS BY SENDING THEM TO ME OR POSTING THEM IN THIS THREAD. A JURY OF GOBBLIN ELDERS SELECTED BY ME WILL VOTE ON THE SUPERIOR SHITPOSTER.

This thread is the most awesome curve-ball of recent drama. It wont really have any significance on the map because as any school-kid can tell you, Acre has no significance on the map. But public opinion of the GOBBLIN faction is at an all time high as a result of this.
It's either a clever way of swaying with public opinion that Acre are trash and harm the GOBBLIN's rep by joining by pretending that this was the plan all along, or this was genuinely the plan all along and those were some sick games to play with James' feelings dawg. Either way it's tons of fun!
At the moment it's not looking like i'll ever get back to the NA map cos EU guys looooooove my crates, they just cant get enough of that stuff, so in the meantime the more forum shit the better!
This whole thing smells a lot like when Bryggan did basically the same thing last strat to Acre, but it had a severely-lackluster ending of James bending over and Bryggan just re-accepting Acre as his vassals, without anything actually happening as a result. No civil war, no shitposts, nothing. I'll remain optimistic that this one will end in a more satisfactory manner.
But Bruttus was briefly near fiefs that are not owned by his faction.
Even though he didnt do anything this still makes him the bravest hero of Acre.
Reminds me of when I just walked right past his fief yesterday. I noticed that he entered it unarmed, bought some gear and then came charging out at me, only to turn around as soon as he noticed he was both outmanned and outgunned. And here I almost anticipated an Acre attack. Can you believe it, Acre, attacking a non-AI pary? Bahahaa... sounds crazy, right? I almost turned around to circumnavigate them so that I wouldn't be tied up for 24 hours, then I remembered who I was dealing with.

I would be lying if I said I don't want this to go to the Gobblin Trials. Your absolutely correct, way more fun and dramatic than any of the same old boring shit but the fact still remains that they have to bend over and take it up the ass just to go through with it in the first place. A plot twist at the end of the trials would be the icing on the cake. So many possiblities for a climatic ending. I for one had to return the favor of shit talking a Gobblin thread since they so graciously bestow me with so many already.

I have beaten Chumley easily 90% of the time I have fought him, Joan isn't even around so he doesn't count not to mention the fact that he isn't even one of the acre in the deal.
If James had a reserve stock of memes then he should have busted them out years ago because his 4 memes he recycles have been stale for the longest time.
Acre giving us a big fuck you wouldn't mean anything because they still will have never amounted to anything in strat nor accomplished any great feat.

This whole thing smells a lot like when Bryggan did basically the same thing last strat to Acre, but it had a severely-lackluster ending of James bending over and Bryggan just re-accepting Acre as his vassals, without anything actually happening as a result. No civil war, no shitposts, nothing. I'll remain optimistic that this one will end in a more satisfactory manner.
Reminds me of when I just walked right past his fief yesterday. I noticed that he entered it unarmed, bought some gear and then came charging out at me, only to turn around as soon as he noticed he was both outmanned and outgunned. And here I almost anticipated an Acre attack. Can you believe it, Acre, attacking a non-AI pary? Bahahaa... sounds crazy, right? I almost turned around to circumnavigate them so that I wouldn't be tied up for 24 hours, then I remembered who I was dealing with.

I accused James of treason for blatantly disobeying orders and being a dick. Not because several powerful lords in my faction hated him. I have no time for the petty quarrels of people who take shit on the internet personally.
We have all experienced James' dick side. The late night PMs telling us how we are total assholes and he's the only guy who is decent and everyone should do as he says. When I left Acre I got many of those, and when I worked for the Squids I got many more, and when I attacked Acre they came non-stop. But I just pictured James sitting at his PC, a three quarter empty bottle of rye at his desk and a big scowl on his face, remembering all the injustices the world threw at him. We all have that friend who is a good guy but a miserable drunk.
But after I withdrew my armies from the front (thanks to a truce the WotN gleefully agreed to) and threatened him, I had my little court case and aquitted him. And after that he stopped all his bullshit (though it was too late apparently for the steppe folk).
But Acre did good for us. They kept the crime in check and basically ran the economy. But they would never attack. They were quick to reinforce any of my armies in a fight, even setting their alarms to do so, but I had to beg and plead even for a measly 300 man army to help campaign. And then I would get vague promises, and whoever was appointed to me would disappear. Fortunately I had the 13K and the Starks for attacking.
Not sure what it is with Acre. I could see them on the faction page, and they never had men or gear. Until we were attacked. Then they were right there in the right place. And look how long they held up against Eques. I wanted them to come to Europe to build attacking armies, telling them that it was hopeless to stay on the defensive, but yet they stayed. I guess we all have our strengths and weaknesses.

Both me and Artyem probably hated life during those sieges more than on average. Motherfucker saved my ass, probably would have tossed my PC out of the window if it wasn't for him.

Right so James was always really good to work with while on the enemy side, being a good sport and allowing gear setup times and stuff...least from what I remember, we'd always have 5-10 mins time to reorganize so neither side was trying to snipe the other out while gearbugged or anything.
And while he annoyed the shit out of some people (including me at times), he has really made an effort to stem the decline of this game's population. I respect him for that. I mean, yeah, sometimes I'll chuckle at his expense because he's overly-dedicated to a cambodian hand2hand combat mod..but I directly receive sperg-benefit from his actions. I'm very grateful!
Plus, he's never had anything harsh to say to me. Only naughty things is I've heard he was harsh towards some younger idiot members of acre like 2.5 years ago or something. Besides all the forum venom-spewing upon him. Hell, maybe he was a real fucking asshole in strat 5. I don't know shit about that, and I won't put full faith in a story unless it comes from a dear friend.

The fight for Yruma was pretty long and drawn out never really had any issues with James himself and my brief interactions with him last strat were fine I guess. Acre hate seems to be an integral part of this game, despite most people secretly own up to the fact that they like James, or hate him but never really talked to him. And anyone who's been in Acre TS knows what a bunch of fun guys they are, and in any battle James was helping lead he's always been pretty damn awesome.
But I find it really pathetic that some people refuse to be in the same faction with other people because 'they don't like them'. It's a game. Churchill didn't like Stalin, but he didn't stop playing on the Allies side. Tonya Harding didn't like Nancy Kerrigan, but that didn't make her quit the US Skating team. Luigi didn't let his jealousy of his older brother make him quit Mario Bros.
Acre was very good to work with. As I said earlier, they kept the economy running in KotN and HCE. When I said 'they did nothing', I only meant for a faction of their size. The core 5 or 6 were busy, but the 35 or so others' interest waxed and waned. Typical of new players. Just did enough movement that we couldn't boot them from the faction for being inactive. But everyone looked at our numbers and thought we should be uber-powerful. But, as an example, it was Mathew who begged me to let him attack the Hounds. I agreed on the condition that I got to attack on the first wave, and then rigged an election so we could do so. And plus they saved me many times they reinforced me when rushed in like a mad man and bit off more than I could chew.
So definitely a good clan to have on your side.
As for people asking me whether 'I told James to stuff it' when he suggested we work together again, that is not true. This strat I had planned on being merc, then I decided to do nothing, then I decided to do nothing as King of Halitrous. Then I got interested in Strat again. But I wanted to be a small faction. That is why I left Halitrous. That is why I declined Knightmare's and other's invitations. And that is why I declined James. Holding lands takes all the fun out of this game. You gotta worry about stuff and shit.
Though I admit I made a truce with the Vegetation of Calradia, but this is only a non-aggression pact until our war with Gobblins is over and their war with the insects are over. We also agreed to not arm the caterpillars and potato bugs.

Same with me. Ive seen him rage just like that. Also, he needs to follow up on steam for pages and pages spouting his rage (hence why multiple people have banned him from their steam accounts). He seems worse with his "followers." If you didn't see that side Bryggan its because you only saw the duplicitous side where he will be nice and say one thing while plotting to backstab you or usurp your power. Either way - not likeable.
