Massive price changes to weapons during a running strategus round ... not cool. Even more so as the prices within strategus are increasing exponetially.
btw needing half my silver to buy siege gear and the other half to buy gear, to take castles you think that is as it should be? Have you had a look at the map lately?
Oh btw did i mention that crime rate does not really help against huge piles of troops? Aslong you have steady gold income anyways and are able to buy your goods in castles & towns.
Please include something which makes the amount of fiefs relevant to the crime/upheaval rate which perhaps then cant be bought of through silver/s&d usage.
and before i forget it , please increase max nightime by 4 hours.

Even more so as the prices within strategus are increasing exponetially. The only "massive" price changes were to a few weapons that you don't particularly need for strat. Also the prices were raised to compensate for the buffs they got.

1st april continues?
Give me respec on HX only giving me 3 attribute and 1 skill point not gonna change my build ffs.
I had 9 str and 30 agi now i cant use my mw light crossbow.
Why?If i will do that i wont have 5 horse archery.
9 + 3 = 12. You need 11 str for a light crossbow. And you don't need any better crossbow as HX as you cannot reload them on horse. Of course your aim isn't as good as before due to less wm? But thats just fair, HX is the most annoying class anyway.
Pelt hood seems to be bugged. It doesn't show up in-game and makes the character appear bald.
Muahahahah my red tassle spear is even faster now, please add knockdown for swings next!
Hehe, yeah! I've been wondering why only so few use that weapon, it always was awesome. Maybe now it will become more mainstream spear.

Not exactly worse if you compare the weights. Seems like a fair tradeoff to me, also a really good option for non-1h shield wielder infantry.

holy cow, 18 str for arbalest, whoa. Gotta see how this works out now...
If people still rant about xbow now, they´re retarted
They still have no requirements. And no having an 18 str requirement for the highest damage one is nothing, an archer needs that for their top weapon and they have to sink 6 points into using it. Xbows don't need WPF as much as bows and are easier to snipe with

Can someone clarify the change to lancing?Sure.
Sure.Wasn't there a change to the one handed polearm stab? And does that not include stabbing with polearms from cav, ie lancing?
There wasn't one? :|

Everything else is fine, but Valor is messed up. not a fan of the new valor formula. What is wrong with Valour now? Simply too hard for you to get now, or is it actually broken? Are we back to only 1-4 people getting valour, instead of 1/4 the server?
If i will do that i wont have 5 horse archery.
I will just stay 8 wm and 8 riding instead of 9 wm 9 got it ?
As a arbalesterd I am needed in free respec
... Also, with new changes can we please just remove the ridiculous delay from the Arbalest? It literally makes no sense beyond handicapping the weapon. ...

Reduce plated charger upkeep
Didn't realise there was a +3 str requirement for arba, put my points thinking it was a global respec, now fucked up my build QQyou won't be the only one.
Archers totally needed a 1 slot weapon that can rear horses, perfect.also what weapon are you on about?
Archers totally needed a 1 slot weapon that can rear horses, perfect. They've had them for a while now.
also what weapon are you on about?
good game guys. masterworks are uselessgimme loomz
They've had them for a while now.
could you add the same to langes messer ? the stab have the polearm stab animation so i guess it should work same as 2h swords in pole mod ?!Langes Messer is shorter than 100.
Boar spear is a pretty interesting sidearm now, kind of like a mix between a war spear and iron staff with better equipment flexibility.
Bow and Longbow and Rus Bow (possibly Yumi. I've never used it) have a delay as well. I see no reason to remove it from the bows so why removed it from the xbows? Remove the preconceived notion of it being a gun that fires the moment you pull the trigger.
Langes Messer is shorter than 100.
I think that Crossbowmen need a full respec, given the massive changes to their builds. Those of you who do not play that class won't understand why these changes may require a complete rethink of their skill points.
I am level 32, and wasn't planning on a respec any time soon. My build was:
15/27, MW Arbalest, 9Ath 7WM 5PS, (yes, y'all hated it).
Now with the mini respec. I have 15/25 8Ath 7WM 5PS, with 3 attribute points, 1 skill, left over. I would really like to continue using my MW Arbalest, so I would go 18/25 8Ath 7WM 6PS. But wait 25 agi is meaningless, especially at lvl 32. So what I would actually like to do would be 18/24 8Ath 8WM 6PS +1 spare skill.
Listen, I know all you melee focused people just HATE ranged, but put yourself in our shoes. Would you like to lose your 31+ level because of a major patch? Probably not.
It is not as if allowing respecs hurts the game: they have been done many times in the past. And when your class gets fucked? I'll support your getting a free respec that I do not.
Also, with new changes can we please just remove the ridiculous delay from the Arbalest? It literally makes no sense beyond handicapping the weapon. Now you've lowered our Ath, I'd like to think that is a more reasonable game balance of the Run and Gun than having to make it harder for the player. What happens more than delay preventing a run and gun is that it makes it harder for me to deal with oncoming cav if I don't run around with my xbow aimed like this is a modern shooter.

I actually have never played an archer, so I didn't know that. And yes, I know to compensate for the delay. My problem is when delay prevents firing on an oncoming cav right after reloading. Both Xbowmen AND Archers should be able to drop the shot as soon as the projectile is primed, not stand there while the cav knocks them over before they get a chance to fire due to delay. Both crossbows and bows have a natural delay: the time it takes to raise the weapon to shoulder or to draw back the bow.
Here is why your gun thing makes no sense to me: the primitive locking system of a medieval crossbow was a drop-away block.. So the greater tension of the string would tend to drop the block faster. That it would delay as long as it is has nothing to do with the lack of springs and firing pins. For the record, bow delay makes EVEN LESS SENSE. As if a trained archer can't release his fingers when he intends to, but rather .5 sec later.
Just state: I believe the delay is still needed for balance. Don't make up horseshit about "preconceived notions."
Here is a short video about medieval crossbows. He reloads and fires a 200LB Xbow at 0:40. It looks just the same as a rifle with a two-stage trigger, he pulls it slowly so that he gets a clean break for maximum accuracy, but he could choose to sharply pull the trigger if something is very close.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxN0FZkYk78
I understand that these historical/physics based arguments will not sway the CRPG developers. That doesn't mean I am wrong.
And regardless of the physics, I believe the delay is too long as-is, and is beyond what is required for balance in a skill-based game.
Anyone looking for a +3 Knightly Kite Shield? I can't use mine for another 17 million XP now.
What the heck with that crossbowmen nonsense ? 18 str for a damn arbalest.. srlsy ? Then give me at least a full respec.. You fu**ed up my build.. Good game a**holes..We all demand full respec as crossbow users.
A much needed nerf to xbows. Grade A patch. Finally!
Awesome +1 updates;(click to show/hide)
The speed ratings on these Long Axes are going to drive me personally insane. I guess this is an incentive for me to get out to the practice field. Well played! :D
A change indeed. At first I was rather pissed, but after adjusting and playing some, all thats changed for me is:
1 less athletics
1 more ps
Pretty much the same in wpf
Easier in melee due to more ps, can wear heavier armor, can pick up more weapons if needed.
Was 12/30 before, am 15/27 now
Actually not bad, less squishy and can hurt tincans more, might even go 1h/2h with all those wpf points, with 5 ps the mace is a nice option aswell
But look at Green Crescent Heater Shield that comes right after it in shop, it wasn't nerfed, even buffed. These 2 shields looked a lot like each other in stats, doesn't make sense.
give me respec also, nuw i cant wear my shield !i believe in you...
sounds fair, isn't?
Is it only me who sees all the time now shieldbreakers?
Was there ever a reduction on the effectivness on the shieldbreaking ability?
The website does not yet represent the decrease of shieldskill from 8% to 5%.
Why was it nearly halfed? With so few % already 1% reduction would have done the trick to get rid of "shieldskill 13 unbreakable".
My Shieldskill 10 feels like 6-7 three years ago. With shieldbreaking ... crushthrough, reduction of force field a lot earlier, the need to sepreately need to spend skill points, i tend now to believe that high shieldskill above 4 to 6 is absolutly pointless.
@San
first you argumented that the shields would be made better, but the changes often had been reversed already, like the reduction of weight, which turned out to be bad because of crushthrough ^^.
Then there was a discussion of new game mechanics included which would even out the heavy nerf, still nothing happened. You could think that till these miracle changes would be ready to be implemented, that till then you at least get us back some of the %. Please increase the shield skill % to 7%, that way you still dont have unbreakable shields(which was the basic point of the reduction).
I would rather have now not to invest skill points at all and make a combined agi/str requirement, if there would not be something done about the shieldskill ability.
The website does not yet represent the decrease of shieldskill from 8% to 5%.The current durability formula is 10% base plus 6% per shield skill level. Changing to 7% per level would make things worse for most shielders. The only people who have the right to complain about this change, imo, are people who had a knightly kite shield. That's not to say the shields were nerfed, because they weren't; all of the shields are still good, including the KKS. As far as crushthrough goes, if you're relying on your shield for anything, then you're fighting CT wrong.

I don't even see why they nerfed shielders again. Its the weakest of all classes.

What i was told, that it would be base and then +5% per skill level. The current formula is 10% plus 6% per level, period. I'm the one who gave cmp the new formula. http://forum.melee.org/closed-beta-testing/wse2-client-server-update-todo-list/ (http://forum.melee.org/closed-beta-testing/wse2-client-server-update-todo-list/)
How on spagethi monsters earth would an increase of % per shield skill, make things worse for shielders?
Also again, even if you would have reduced by only 1 % to 7% you would have gotten rid of the invalnuarable 13 shieldskill shields. So why another 1% to 2% to then get 6% or 5%(again i was told not only once sofar it would be 5% now). The argumentation which was presented back then to make that decrease, majorly was pointing towards the invulnurable shield with lvl 13, to nerf anything more was already overdoing it.
Then there was a discussion of new game mechanics included which would even out the heavy nerf, still nothing happened.
Was doing fine with a +0 one earlier, most of the time even better than when I was using a +3 elite cav shield. Would be glad to take it off your hands, although I only have 1lp and 325k.Inb4 item balancers nerf something to buy it for cheaper price on the market, then buff it back. :D
Accidentally sold the loom point for 325k, so no chance of that :PSame thing happened to me, except it was the morning. Sold my Saracean Guard Armor for a measily 2 loom points and 135 gold(was meant to be 135,000).

Everyone knows we can't have throwers do more damage than archers. That's just not fair.Which is why they only do less damage if you're comparing vastly different(or unrealistic) scenarios.

I wholeheartedly agree with every bit of logic in here, but if they were to make the damage realistic relative to melee, then they should make the requirements more realistic also. Remove throwing requirements or at least soften them if you're gonna reduce the damage, since it takes so many darn skill-points and there are so few 'good' throwing builds, anyone using it is gimped in melee.
If you want realistic throwing damage, give it realistic requirements so that everyone can lob their spears in a sporadic manner to soften enemy ranks before battle.
Yeah I didn't state that, but I 100% agree as well. As much as it would fuck me over on my light horse, I think that every melee player should pretty much be able to use at least up to level 3 power throw weapons. I think the requirements should be lowered on some of the medium and under throwing weapons, and damage reduced some as well (basically making them in line with a melee swing damage). It seems kind of ridiculous that most of the throwers you see are pure throwers, when in reality most infantry should be able to use some throwing weapons.
Realism talk again? :D
Don't forget this is a game, and pure throwing builds are damn fun (also can be balanced, as they were in the past).
So you'd rather cut MY (and i'm sure tons of other ppls) main motivation to play this game, because it's not realistic?
:/
Not just realism, I think it does too much damage. I don't think there ever should have been any balance around throwing to make it a main build. Throwing should have always been balanced around a hybrid build.
Fin the 2 don't need to be mutually exclusive, i'm in favour of low-damage low-requirement type throwing weapons for the majority (in line with my concept of fun medieval combat), but this doesn't mean that a dedicated thrower should be punished.
Perhaps lower the base damage, but buff the value of PT so that a dedicated thrower (6-7 PT) is not nerfed from their current state, but your average infantryman would have access to more the kind of throwing we were talking about. If people want to commit and dedicate themselves to unconventional classes i still think that's great, throwing is one of my favourite ways to play too.

Franciscas are 50 length, 26c, TAs are 53 length 29c. Really, only HTA and Lances have usable melee modes.
It's a shortened spear, a 1577 gold weapon. Is that weapon OP in melee?
throwing lance in melee mode should get -2 pierce and -1 to -2 speed
Okay then. I rarely see people using the shortened spear anyways. To me throwing lances are more useful in melee than thrown, which is weird.
That goes for HTA too.
In my opinion, HTA are better used as a sort of hybrid weapon. They offer enough damage per stack to be usable when thrown, and you will usually prefer throwing first and melee second when given the chance. The fact that they have usable melee stats makes using a melee sidearm an option instead of being mandatory like with jarids and the like.
Still - i do 80% of my kills using the melee mode - and that just feels wrong if the weapon is tagged "throwing".
It's because throwing is useless compared to melee fighting, and possibly other ranged weapons.

It has axe in the name for fucksake of course it kill in melle. Its not a heavy throwing pillow
Whats wrong with u? It's about the MAIN weapon mode. Throwing axes are THROWING weapons - not 1h!
What would u think if your Langes Messer would suck in 2h mode ?

Why the archery nerf? :S
Archery was about right and could compete for valour (well until you broke valour).
Archery needed a weapon master nerf not a dmg nerf if anything since the agility buff.
[insert valour criticism here, i've given up reasoning with the waste majority]
