we're trying to role play as samurai and it's just prohibitively expensive for how good it is;

katana 633 gold

two handed sword 514 gold

heavy bastard sword 492 gold

heavy great sword 468 gold

bastard sword 454 gold

dadao 300 gold

i mean i don't think i'm being flippant when i say the katana isn't better, but worse, than the heavy bastard sword, and at a significantly higher cost

if we could just have it at the same price as the heavy bastard sword that'd be great, thanks!

Indeed, clove oil is hard to find so I think katana upkeep should be increased by at least 300%, to correctly represent this.

Indeed, as Macropus has pointed out, make sure you're looking at the +3 version. We reworked when you gain what on looms, so that the first two loom levels are as good/better than the last.
