Indeed, as Macropus has pointed out, make sure you're looking at the +3 version. We reworked when you gain what on looms, so that the first two loom levels are as good/better than the last.

Not exactly worse if you compare the weights. Seems like a fair tradeoff to me, also a really good option for non-1h shield wielder infantry.

They still have no requirements. And no having an 18 str requirement for the highest damage one is nothing, an archer needs that for their top weapon and they have to sink 6 points into using it. Xbows don't need WPF as much as bows and are easier to snipe with

When you take into account you need WPF to reload fast enough to have the DPS of a simple short bow, you forget what you just said

I think like Ikarus that its fairly balanced, it has now a minimal str req (that is higher than the difficulty of wearing gothic plate... still nothing on increasing armor req?), best damage of the game, average/good accuracy without WPF, but very costy and slow to use.
