This has been under discussion for months now, there have been several threads about this and the highlander swords. Why are the armours not implented yet?

Possibly because they're not from the medieval period.

They show skin, and the devs have supposedly said no armors can show skin. This is due to the fact that it looks a bit funky if you make the armor's skin one shade and the character's skin is a different shade. It would also be complicated to make female versions of armor that shows skin.

to answer this Scots didn't wear anything remotely close to this during medieval period. Kilts started being worn around 1680. it's like the reason many don't ever wanna see roman/ancient greek armor. It's just retarded. IMHO even samurai shit should go. Feel like I'm watching/playing deadliest warrior. Pure retardation.

Don't really understand  why these haven't been added.

As long as we have flamberges, greatswords, bucklers,  sidesword, espadas, gothic plate etc, i don't mind some authentic highlander-scottish armors, even if they are of late period. I don't think they would look as out of place as ashtray bucklers for example.

After all, Hollywood did it's job , this is how the majority would imagine a scottish warrior =)   :

IIRC these were the reasons for not adding these armors.
But Shik & Cmp might want to tell you, if they have changed their reasons. Go bug them in IRC. :D
And tell us in here what they said.

Every item you mention there are about two centuries or more younger than these (otherwise beautiful) armors which falls into the Early Modern period.
