Yes. It´s a really good high end weapon. I think Miaodao is better than Nodachi ( cost 10589 ) , cause of the higher speed. It´s really a cheap ( 8030 ) weapon. You can use good armor with it too. You can spam shielder to death with it. It´s really a cool , high end weapon. And it´s really cheap compared to the other high end weapons. I was thinking about making me a 2h/spam build with Miaodao. Fast as hell , for the damage.

Ja mein Long Male ist auch unwiderstehlich, zusammen mit meinen Balls of Steel verwüste ich ganze Landstriche.

Ok .... zum Long MaUl :

Das Dingen ist eine hammer Anti-Schild Waffe. So gesehen sollte man , wenn man sieht , dass der Gegner einen long MaUl rausholt ( ich hoffe , er lässt seinen long Male schön eingepackt ^^) , mit 1h/Schild Build erstmal einen grossen Bogen , um diesen Gegner machen, wenn man sich nicht auskennt.

WENN man sich auskennt und man hat einen sehr schnellen agi-build 1h/schild, mit leichter Ausrüstung und hohem Athletic Wert KANN man versuchen , diesen Male .... äh .... Maul-Schwinger niederzustrecken ... richtig gute Spieler können das natürlich auch mit allen möglichen Builds.

Einfach so lange knapp ausser Reichweite bleiben und Scheinangriffe starten , bis dieser "seinen langen" schwingt und zwar nicht angetäuscht, sondern richtig durchschingt, sofort schnell in Nahkampfreichweite gehen und draufhauen , was das Zeug hält ...

Da der long maul eine sehr langsame Waffe ist, sollte  derjenige keine Chance mehr aus Gegenwehr haben. Man sollte natürlich genug Schaden machen, dass man ihn schnell umhaut.

Falls man sich nicht so gut mit der Spielmechanik auskennt , wäre man schön doof , genau auf den Gegner zuzurennen, der einen am leichtesten killen kann ( 1h/schild build ).

Genauso schlecht ist es einfach mit gehobenem Schild auf den long Maul Gegner loszugehen und zwar straight in einem durch in die Nahkampfzone , denn dann macht es plopp und man ist tot ;-)

Ich kenn mich da ein klein wenig aus, weil ich zum einen einen 10 ps str-build long maul schwinger hatte , just for fun zum testen .... ( war lustig , aber mir definitiv zu lahm ^^) und zum anderen auch einen agi speed build 1h/schild-Kämpfer , der es aber verstanden hat , long maul schwinger auszuschalten ;-) Ich wußte ja wie er funktioniert ;-)

Mittlerweile steh ich mehr auf balanced builds und viel mehr Teamwork. Denn die allerbeste Möglichkeit die long mauls auszuschalten ist im team , was wiederum viel schwieriger wird, wenn der auch in einem guten Team ist ( was aber Sinnvoll wäre , denn dieser ist eine sehr gute Support-Klasse , ein so genannter Turtle-Knacker ) , aber das ist ja das spannende an diesem Spiel :-)

It´s not realistic , but i think 100% Friendly damage to self and 0% damage to Friendly would be good, because archers would think twice about shooting in melee-fight , and swinging damage your mate would be less , cause they don´t learn from teamwounding.

Now it´s like this :

Archer shooting in melee .... hm .... nobody seen , that i hit my mate ..... no sry said .... just shoot , and shoot .... oh .... another teamhit .... but not a kill  .... must say nothing .... shoot shoot shoot .... ups .... i headshoted my mate .... er .... better say nothing , maybe nobody had seen the direction, from where the shoot comes .... shoot , shoot .... ups ... teamhit .... hm .... shoot shoot ... teamhit ...
Round lost .... MAN ! My melee mates are so bad .... they loose all the time .... shit melees .... why don´t they take a bow ?

Or : Cav player in full speed , targetting an enemy .... he sees a mate comes by and get´s into melee ... but he hold attack and speed ... the enemy and mate turn sides .... ups .... teamkill .... hm .... ok .... i say sry .... next target ... ups .... bumped my mate , and he´s killed by enemy , cause he couldn´t defend .... hm .... say nothing .... next target ... and so on ...


If all this teamdamage would be reflected , it would be much more fun to play for the ones who are cautious with their hits.


One thing : Most of the archers are real good , cav also .... some archers and cav are fantastic , but the few who aren´t , but try , and try , and try are really annoying , and for those a teamdamage-reflect would be really good.

OK, Sean_Drew, I knew I am not the only idiot on the Earth using this build (joke aside, neither I nor you are idiots :D)

I'm wondering, if any 2h/polearms (short ones ofc) will be 1slot. Then I wouldn't have any questions, because I can do well with 2h and polearms even with 1 wpf. I have to ask in proper thread.

I heard that some shorter pole should be 1 slot , after the patch. Maybe spear , or shortened spear or something , so my pole points are not wasted.

Nice to see total agreement about this build , with you Dravic ;-)
I only remember you having different opinions about shields , with me. Nice to be on the same side with this build  :wink:

Hey Dravic !

This is exactly the build of my Xbower. ( 15st , 27 agi , 14 conv. , 4 ps , 4 athl. , 9 wm )

He is only lvl 28 now, but it works already. And pretty well.

Now he has 160 wpf in xbow and 76 in pole. My aim at lvl 30 is 160 wpf in xbow ( it´s enough for me ) , and 114 in pole.

What is after the patch i will look , when it is there ...

But the build is very good. You can use Sniper Xbow and aim pretty good with 160 wpf. I use a Long Hafted Spiked Mace as melee.

Btw : I use only 1 slot with steel bolts cause reloading is soooooo slow. 15 bolts are enough for me. I like to run around with my team too, helping here and there with shooting or switching to melee as support inf. But your on the right way with this build ...

Again teamwork can help too, stay close to a pikeman when you are on open space.

Ofc, good cav players will beat you, but good 2h player or good 1h player will beat you too...

1. Do you really think there will be many dedicated pikemen after the patch who run around with 1h and pike ? And how long do they run around with all that ranged stuff in the air ?

2. You say the good cav player will beat me. That´s wrong. He simply has more range. I stop the same good cav player with a pike. I tested it. And i´m not whining about the patch , i criticize that the patch will make pikes take 3 slots , and i think that´s too much. 2 would be enough i think. Ok, call it whine if you want.

But i think i said enough about the 3 slots thing now ... i will play now, not talk  :wink: Maybe i try my xbower more, cause of the coming patch.

Pike is probably gonna take 2 slots, not 3. Stop being idiotic and argue about things you have no clue of.

That´s the first real statement , that i hear about it. Until now i read it would take 3 slots all the time. And i don´t think it´s idiotic to talk about such things. But like i wrote above , i stop talking and do more playing ;-) It´s better to wait , what the patch will bring in the end and look what it changes in real then , and what was just idiotic talking  :wink:

You have a shield for crying out loud, you can just block (lancers) cav and let pikemen/ranged do their job. Why does everyone want to have in his pocket a wepaon to beat any other class in the game ?

Have you tried to simply block the attacks of fast good cav ? Maybe you block it once .... if you have a good shield ... maybe twice ...

But then it simply breaks and you are 1h without shield = dead. Think about the speed bonus , which breaks your shield fast.


Forget about it .....

I simply will enjoy the time i can use 1h/shield/pike untill patch and then i switch to my xbower. He can kill horsies in 2 shots.

It´s not only about stopping horses , from cav-players that are not so good, or just play simplier. It´s about the range of a really good cav-player , like Fallen_Torben for example. He knows how to be out of range from your war spear and kill you , that you don´t have a chance to stop his horse.

I just tried it with a shield/warspear combination , and it simply sucks totally. ( 3 times in a row ) . It´s simply not long enough to reach a really good cav player. And don´t say i don´t play good enough with spear , or such things , cause i played a dedicated spear/shielder for 2 gens.

So war spear is not an option.

A good cav player ( like Torben ) rides circles around you while stabbing you with his long heavy lance. You can´t reach him with a war spear.

I can stop and kill cav players that are not so good. It´s easy with a war spear. But i talk about the good ;-)

Next i try the bamboo spear.

And Camaris .... you know about the stab-reach-bonus of your 2h weap ? It has a very long reach. So you can really compare it with a long pole. I think it´s longer than a war spear, in real situations. There are some hidden bonuses.

I think you are dead if you try a warspear.

Heavy lance is just longer and hits first. So you are dead.

Correct me , if i´m wrong. Thought the only weapon long enough to hit first before heavy lance is pike. But maybe i try a bamboo spear again. But that one failed too often while i tried it.
So that the heavy lance just hits first , and because you are dead , you can´t hit the horse anymore ...

And if you use shield and spear , you must decide if you want to be protected behind your shield=block ( 2 hits and a medium shield is crushed because of the speed bonus of the cav ) , or you want to try to stop the horse = dead , cause heavy lance is longer = hits first. Maybe i try a bamboo spear again. I tried it and it sucks too often .... so i changed to pike again. I know that i have no protection against ranged, while i use pike, but i think it´s a better option against cav than be protected with shield , and use bamboo spear ...

Maybe i must try again various combinations.

How the hell this patch in any way could increase the number of hybrids.
It´s more or less the total opposite of what you said.

And @ Camaris : Simply cause i can´t use a pike after the patch, with 1h/shield ( when pike needs 3 slots ) , so i must choose something other than pike , that hits first before heavy lance hits me = ranged = no more melee only = hybrid ;-)

Edit : Maybe i try something with throwing too , after the patch, cause i think jarids or throwing spears , or axes could kill a horsie too. But it´s totally clear that the patch will change my melee-only char to a hybrid char.
