I'd like to ask just one thing to all the people who got the "what is that" message. Did you get it with your main, or with an alt, or you hadn't choosed your main at that moment ?
Cause if it's only with our main, and if we can't see it on cRPG, it's maybe because it's actually a minor buff for strategus. Like you will be able to craft that sort of equipment for less materials. And if you have enough "what is that" message on the same equipment, you might be able to craft an heirloomed version of it.
Thus the fact that clan will more benefit of having a person with a lot of "what is that" message.
I love speculating.

also, let me tell you that from what I've seen, at least one person got it 99% right. not gonna tell you who and when/what page, of course :]

How do you get it still seems very random. Surviving in battle seems to help. So need a minimum of time "alive" wearing the equipment, probably.
I've been doing a all new gen, with the same equipment since lv13 (except for the weapon, i like to change it), and never received it. As a polearm, weapons depends on the situation (long spear for open maps, poleaxe if many shielders, ironstaff to spam archers, etc...) so i'll try as a 2h with the EXACT same equipment, weapon included, and i'll see how it goes. Wish me luck.
