Dear Matey, if indeed you declared war on Occitan because Hospitaller broke some sort of agreement you had with them, then, the sin falls on your head. That being said, it is never too late for communication and know, that I have enough authority to talk about diplomacy on behalf of my clan.
Let me tell you where everyone stands as far as we are concerned.
Hospitallers are our friends. We are not the same clan, but yes, maybe a little more than allies. They have been good and loyal to us, and we pay thoses who deserve. Therefore, every single Occitan would fly to aid them, because in many occasions they did the same for us. We will then, be in the way of anyone standing against them. That can be you or not... but as I stated, it is not our concern and what happened with them, has to be discussed with them.
And that is that.
Otherwise, It is our belief that no clan should be exterminated or wiped out of the map, since Strat is a matter of balance and good relations. Grow too much, and others will prey on you. We learned that at our expense last time. You can feel endangered, I guess it is not the most insane feeling in the world. After all, we are potent and can stand our own in a fight. It does not mean that we wish for a war tough.
The Fallen, for instance, declared an unjust war on us, and were confident they could eradicate us. That being said, eradication is the domain of the villains, and the salary of their bad intentions if a just defeat. -Guerre à outrance- an idea for barbarians and video games, perhaps, but since you cannot physically eliminate the players, you have to deal with them, even after defeat, because they will seek revenge, they will aid, in any way they can thoses who will stand against their former agressors, you will have created a force capable of challenging the tyranny of thoses who think eradicating is the solution.
It is about balance, not incidents, no matter how bad they seem to our general relations, and reason leads us to believe that, as Peppo stated, a war against you is useless, without purpose, sense, or utility. We are not expansionnists, but will stand our ground. This is our truce, our peace offering, and we would be glad to improve the relations for our mutual benefit.
Therefore, apologies, if I sounded abrasive, but please do understand that far from wanting to be agressive, quite on the contrary, I just wish to understand the very object of our discord. I said a lot, I know, but they say in diplomacy that saying a lot is unwise, since it tells too much of our intentions to someone about whom we are unsure. Therefore, take my verbosity as a gesture of goodwill, and what was said here as a reaching hand from a clan who wishes nothing more than peace and good intelligence.
