There is yet another bug that results in many people not receiving gold and upkeep not working. It will be fixed shortly (you won't need to download the update again).

In order to prevent raging over locking thread to which i happen to type, i will keep this short.

Throwing: good, viable (as before patch tbh), more ammo cannot hurt, no problem getting ressuplied on battlefield >:o)

Lancing: FINALLY. Was tired of ppl who dislocated their arms to reach me. Good cav players are scoring kills as if nothing happened. Even tho seems the changes are favoring 1hcav now.

Faces: awesome.

DTV: epic fun. Imho this is forcing teamplay even more. The rewards seemed fine the last patch, as i had to go to work before the last last patch, could not say now.

Soak values: bah. This just helped all the whiny ninjas being uberly fast without having to care about enuff PS not to glance. Now maybe the bec will seem overpowered due to being pierce and all that. On the other hand, this made the agi spam builds viable again (12/21 atm, going for 12/27, freaking awesome, takes almost as many hits to kill people as with my 24/15 2her, sometimes i even felt i was killing quicker with the agi build, like, not faster due to wpf, but less hits needed, but that might have been caused by targets being already half dead or such)

This is a game in beta. Chillax. Patches will have problems, and they are getting fixed incredibly fast for such a small dev team.

respeced to agi right before the patch as I started noticing the hyper agi polestunner builds on battle, and now I can compete again, but I don't coward out to polestun/horserearing/bestvsshieldsweapons/shield usable wpp/best ridicufast dueling/best at everything/polearms so still a disadvantage but hard mode is always way to go ;)

with the crazy speed of 1h, especially with no shield, easy to outspam most of the 2hers and with 9athl easy enough to dance in, hit, dance out, effective as hell against most of the inf on the battlefields

Thanks for improving performance i dunno how you guys done it but fps drop problems seems to disappear which is the best improvment ever . All changes/nerfs are adoptable by time but fps drops were killing the joy .
Hope you , hardworking devs will add some moar items (Especially Turkish,Persian,Arabian,Knightly European stuff and more horses or reworked textures.) %50 of our current gear is Russian and rest have a variaty of europe,arabia,china and japan cultures i just wanted to point out there are lots of finished work (I know Dede's turkish helmet set sent to devs for example. + Lots of OSP on taleworlds forum.) Give us more items and Strategus please =)
Thanks for working hard and tracing suggestions all the time.I used to whine when you guys release a patch with nerf list =) but i realised i always be able to adapt the new system of the game so there is no point whining everytime and being disrespectful.

So, I downloaded the update and replaced all the files. Now, when I try to open Warband, it says that it's unable to open Modules/cRPG/Resource/iboltax_faces.brf

I don't know how to fix that.

In order to just avoid all of this, can I just delete my entire cRPG folder from my Modules folder and re-install it? Or will that delete my characters somehow?

After the lance nerf I think I'll be doing what I already do anyway, running in with the great lance, skewer somebody and then whip out the good ol' trusty sword and then become a pin cussion from archers.

That is an average round for me.

Bows is nerfed very strong, now there is not sense in them, an arbalest less than requires and gives the best result. Returning of throwing weapons and so will complicate life of archers. It is it seems to me - needed to return former missile speed of bows.

Though it became harder, lancer still can rape 1h. I think it's more balanced - prepatchly, in lancer vs 1h/cav battle, lancer won with 7/10 score because of reach and attack angle.

IMHO, shooting system should be returned as it was, but archers should get the walking speed penalty = bow weigth * 7.

it could help to avoid tons of archers running for several minutes at the end of round.

So they at least have to throw away their bow to have an opportunity to run away.


It will also help to see less archers on battles and only skilled one, who are also sure that they will be covered by their infantry...

Yep cav players, no more 30-40 average kills per map cause of the ridiculous ninja angles coupled with uber fast and silent horses (at least for the noobs, the skilled ones will still be doing that as it now takes actual skill to do it, its not just some easymode class)

Bows are finaly nerfed also thank god, and throwing is back.

Epic patch, epic BUT: How long will this last, i fear the crocodile tears of the archer/Cav community will get to chadz. Well they didnt get trough last time when throwing/2h was slapped around so that gives me hope.

Nice if it will be so, but my prediction is that skilled cavs will begin to ignore the existance of lances and use only 1h+shield or 2h.

And true lancer will be a very rare person, like a thrower in previous patch. (and true lancers will be only on coursers or arabians to compensate poor attack angles with horsie speed\maneuvr).


Is that ^ nice?  Dont think so, but lets wait a bit, to see how it goes, ok.

Great thanks for the extracting map incosistency. Update 0.231 was all fine and dandy when I extracted it in my modules map cause the files were automatically extracted in Modules/cRPG. So here I am thinking that I can trust this for being the same with 0.232, apparently not cause my modules folder is full of text files. :evil:

Please keep things like this the same for every patch.

It's always been like this. The full download (cRPG.zip) creates the directory hierarchy, the update (cRPG_update.zip) contains only text files that have to be extracted in the cRPG folder.
Maybe check what's inside before extracting?

Your joking right ? Or maybe you don't like diversity. Before the patch 1h and 2h cav was inferior to lance cav in every way. Now there are uses for both, and we see lancers and 1h cav. Lancers still are way better for attacking aware inf with medium reach weapons. Lances are also easier to hit with at higher speeds. 1h cav with heavy horses (= unsustainable) are better for infantry support than lancers with heavy horses. Finally, 1h with light horses are extremely weak versus infantry but can kill other cav.

Anyway, even if all the cav switched from lance to 1h, which I don't think will happen given the lost reach, that would still be better than all lancers.

maybe maybe, but still this 40* degree looks unnatural and - not intuitive for newcomers. (even experinced in native)

and on the other hand u named 3 (THREE) new types of cavalry, each of it has very NARROW sphere of application, while 2hander infantry or shielder has much more universality, and cheaper in upkeep.


So, even if u right in dividing it into classes, still now cav is shit in balance - u should choose one of three cavalry classes, and for each u get your own narrow sphere of application. It means less interest to play with cav now.


P.S. as for me - no sense to pay HUGE upkeep for my cataphract to be just a support, and to be weak against two other types of cav

You installed the cRPG_update.zip on the old version. You should download the full update instead.

And don't worry, characters are not stored locally.  :lol:

Well, i take side with Fluffy here, as i played thrower when they raped us, and then switched to 2h aswell :D Yeah, i have played thrower even before the patch, it was fun. The good cav players are still lancing now, and scoring hell lots of kills, so i do not see what is this whine about, just fucking adapt or quit cav, easy enough.

Devs, please, do not listen to them, let this play out for few weeks and we will see how everyone is suddenly settled with things and just enjoying the game, which you are creating for us. Oh, and also release strat. Thanks

nah, not true, with 7PT i need 2 spears to kill med armored guy :P if not headshot ofc...and do not worry, the archer fest is there cause they were slightly OP after teh patch, which is fixed, so i believe some will go back to melee, same with throwers (hopefully)...i mean, yeah, i like to see more of us around, but not due to the fact that this class would be FOTM, i hope some of the rush throwers will just reroll something else

how did it look for cav in such conditions btw?

also, u got 2 cd keys?

I noticed the same thing. Really I think giving throwing this much ammo was not the way to go. Ammo amounts (and 2 slots per stack) were mostly fine before. It just needed some fine tuning IMO (like increased requirements which they did and I'm glad for that). On DTV I hit weeboos with like 3 throwing spears on my 12pt character before they go down. Pretty ridiculous. Is that weeboo armor that good? I'll have to check the stats. I would much prefer less ammo but harder hitting than more ammo and weak.

I haven't played DTV since before 0.230, but I remember those peasants taking about 3 arrows as well.  They have very little armor, but seem to have a rediculous amount of health.

Apparently what happened is a global change in how damage is handled, and while it had the best of intentions it's quickly turning out that it buffed armor through the roof. It's pretty impossible to kill someone in plate with range now, or even in general really. Cut weapons are all pretty worthless now.

If you dl just the update, copypaste and overwrite the files in the modules/crpg in your Program files/steam/steamapps/common/mount and blade warband/modules/crpg .... or to the place u installed it if you dont have steam :)

Just open the cRPG folder and overwrite the files by those from update

Okay.. DtV still needs a lot of work. It depends entirely on the team you have, if the people have no idea what they are doing, it isn't fun at all. Plus the rewards don't even come close to paying repairs. I lost 1k trying it out last night, 2k just now playing it. To some vet serious players, that isn't much, but to us casual players, DtV is virtually unplayable now. I can't afford to play it, and I'm not even using any plate armor.

Please go with my suggestion, keep it so there are no repairs. No one will get rich without them and it will give us a little bonus to playing it. The exp isn't that much either, compared to the old version.

When I tried it before the latest patch there were no repairs and I thought that was intended. I was great. People could wear whatever they wanted that they normally couldn't. Kinda like a 'reward' mode. I agree with your suggestion. Just make it so you can't get rich off it (less gold than seige or battle or even NO gold) and give some xp of course (maybe a bit less than than normal) and it'd be great I think.

Why do we need 1 sloted polearms if the cant stop horses now??? I think that was a very bad decision to do such a thing. If all good shields now use 2 slots. I would like to use Short Spear 1slotted polearm as alternate weapon to try to fight with horsemen somehow, but i can't because it does not stop horses now..... So for what kind of a use is for all theese 1 slotted polearms?

Its like prepatch now.  Throwers are everywhere and I cant even walk without getting hit by a spear or axe.  Imo throwing weapons are faster than arrows now.  Is that a joke?

Anyhow I've decided to play alot less because every round I lose like 1.5k gold and I"m only wearing medium armor and 1 weapon.  Upkeep is ridiculous.

Throwing weapons are at their fastest 1/2 as slow as arrows. They also might be everywhere but after the hotfix they don't do much damage so I imagine they will slowly disappear once people realize they can't get kills and their 7 day STF cooldown recycles.

Agree with this. I was really enjoying the game, but have lost 5k playing it past few days now. I'm not a vet, I only have 7k left and would have liked to buy some better equipment, but I can't. Don't want to leech.. so what's the point of playing? Wear crap armor and die quick?

survivng with crap armor is now easier actually due to soaking change, but, on the other hand, you get raped as a clothie by throwers :D
just run around in light leather or whatnot, you can still kill stuff and it costs 57 to upkeep or so

Yeah, no. Throwing weapons are incredibly slow, I have no idea how you got the idea they were faster then arrows. They also don't do any significant damage against armor anymore so they'll probably dry up in a week. No one wants to invest the points required for enough powerthrow to do damage, since it requires a ton of strength, makes you slow, and pretty much negates the accuracy buff.

Even I'm starting to heavily consider abandoning throwing. It's worse then before the "buff" now because of that damage change.

PS: i think u must nerf the original weapon who re cheated (flamberge... )  and not the other ...  for me the game was equilibred before the patch

I have installed today this new 0.232 version (deleted the old one ), and it says I need a newer version of M&B 1.142. Actually my M&B is steamed v.1.143. Never had such a problem before...
