If your just using the shield as a arrow catcher, the plain cav shield is not a bad option.
I know I know, its a peasant shield.
But its width is good (33 compared to the knightly heater shields 25) and it can take a suprisingly amount of arrows, bolts and trowing weapons before it breaks.

When money is a problem, its something to think about.

1h cav with arabian warhorse is very nasty opponent if you are lancer and use destrier, rouncey,or crouser, because they can easily manover and deal you high dmg to horse. Lancer can only deal dmg to 1h if he get charge at him,but 1h can deal dmg even if he standing still.
Avoid the 1h if you are lancer uless you are 100% shure that u can kill them.

Which 2h weapon besides the Morningstar would you guys suggest for a Cav? Long time ago i played with the morningstar on horseback, it was really fun.
I wonder how other weapons like the Longsword or the Heavy Bastard Sword work. The stats look nice, but i dont see any Cav use them.
Can you even swing them from horseback?

the longsword you can.  also the great axe or whatever seems a good choice

Ok, thanks. Great Axe seems a good idea also. I just wonder why you see barely 2h cav, most are polearm, shielders and ranged.

I think i try it next gen, maybe i know then why noone seems to play this build anymore :?

they have a few drawbacks,  but if you do it right you can be very dangerous

Good guide, should I use a polearm (perhaps Elegant Poleaxe or Hafted Blade?) or a one handed sword (nordic war sword probably) and a shield (probably plate covered round shield.
VERY nice boy :)

seriously depends on your preference,  nobody can tell ya what weapons work best for you ^^

Thank you guys,

for the 2h weapons I would still prefer the morningstar or even a longsword.

I am not using the long hafted blade anymore cause of the weird animation, it was really good as a secondary weapon on horseback but since you have to drop your lance, it's not of use anymore for me.

Also as I said in my guide and as Torben recommends, the side weapon shouldn't be too expensive, cause the horses upkeep is really high.

Ok, thanks for the tips guys (and thanks for this guide in general toffi).

I thought about a 21/18 build for 2h cav (with destrier, maybe charger). Dou you think thats ok, or should i better go with 18/21 or 18/18?

If its the first time playing as cav I would recommend 18/18 and spend a lot of points into athletics and wp, so in case you don't like it you can go infantry :D If you really like it, change to 21 agility and 18 strength, for more riding!

From my experience, riding is the golden skill for cavalry.

2hand, if you're not going to use bastard weapons with a shield.
