here are few survival tips for dedicated arbalesters (15 str & 24 agi, no melee skills, high athletics) in siege.
stay away from the noob fagchers & xbowmen
friendly noobs are much more dangerous than your enemy. never stand near them. the noobs are easy to spot so you can find out if the player near you is a noob or not. check his&her aiming, hiding, reloading style and you'll see if he's a noob or not. they may leave the doors open and let the enemy sneak into your safehouse. if you see a noob around, always check the doors behind you just in case if it's left open. they may reveal your hidden sniping position by drawing enemy archers' attention. they may also teamhit you accidentally which may jam your arbalest and ruin your round.
retreat
know the best time to retreat. never try to be an hero, observe your surroundings, and make sure you are not the last man standing on a wall or a tower. quickly retreat to the second safe position when the enemy starts to gain upper hand and outnumbers your allies. in most rounds, front walls can hold only for first 2 mins, always check the timer and plan your retreat.
do le parkour
you need high agi build for this, always use unusual ways to escape from a scene. in most cases, you can run faster than your foes tnx to your high agi build and low armor. if you are on top of a tower and the enemy is approaching you, just wait behind the stairs while aiming at him in 3rd person (be careful, not in front of the stairs, your goal is to escape, not to face enemy and also never zoom in close quarters, always shoot from the hip) til he reaches the top, do thee shotgun and then drop yourself to the stairs (never jump at this moment, this will stun you for a while, just drop yourself). after leaving your foe alone on the top story of tower, you can start jumping down. if there are more enemies going upstairs while you're trying to escape, try jumping over them. most towers in c-rpg have scaffolds and beams inside, try landing on them and use them as safe checkpoints. you may also risk injuring yourself while escaping, but it's always better than a certain death.
there are always shortcuts around, don't hesitate to use them, never head for dead ends and never stop running til you reach a safe point. heavy armored shielders are easy to avoid, if you have high athletics, draw circles around them to avoid their attacks, stay away from polemy old friends, spam thrust attacks with your dagger in clusterfucks. your build sucks hard in melee, so, never duel people, "hit and run" is your objective.
afk people
afk friendlies can be useful for your survival, you can use them as cover while reloading. you can also retreat towards them to distract your pursuers, since they are easy to kill, most of your enemies will stop chasing you for a while to kill the afk, this will bring you extra time to reach a safer place.
so the summary, stay clear from the friendly noobs, observe your allies and try to make good use of them, watch the timer, do acrobatic escapes and don't be an hero. now you know the basics of survival.
