Based purely on its model, you'd assume the latene would be something similar to the war spear, but perhaps with a focus on swing damage instead of a strong stab, similar to the flambard/flamberge 2handers. Maybe instead of being compared to the war spear, it would be more accurate to compare it to the svaerdstav and light glaive as those are already more focused on their 4d usefulness. Stat-wise, it is currently a weaker version of both. It is shorter and slower than the svaerdstav, does less stab damage vs. the averagely armored target, has the same swing damage (despite having a far more imposing model), is 0.1kg heavier (not that much of a big deal tbh), is for some reason harder to use (15 difficulty as opposed to 12), and perhaps worst of all, it can't even rear a horse due to having a cut damage stab. A spear, that can't rear a horse and has one of the worst stabs in the game... nice. Compared to the light glaive (which has a clear focus on swinging vs. stabbing), it is moderately longer, 0.2kg heavier, requires 1 more str to use, has the same swing speed, a stab that is still probably worse than the glaive's "weak" 22p stab, and it does 5 less swing damage.

loginImo, the stats on the latene should be somewhat of a mix between the svaerdstav and the light glaive to give hoplites a decently strong option to fight with should they choose to sheathe/drop their shield. Perhaps something like the following would work and give players a reason to use this potentially cool new weapon:
weapon length: 155
weight: 2.5
difficulty: 15
speed rating: 93
weapon length: 155
thrust damage: 23 or 24 pierce
swing damage: 36 cut (maybe 37 if stab is only 23p)
slots: 2
