Well, I for one hope, that we can have different characters for the Epic and for the Battlegrounds.
This is about being straight out retarded. Children see in slow motion like owls.

I kinda don't like the thought of loosing my pub enterprise I intend to run as a fat Scottish wench due to some artificial round end I don't care about.
Maybe civil families can keep on living while only the military tree of the family is subdued to the warmongering round based frame of the game.
I know from my experience in Lineage 2 that I tend to get emotionally attached to my virtual me.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

Just because we are focusing on battles for now does not mean that nothing was done with epic . It's just that we are pushing the battle parts to the point where they are finished and polished, which we can't do with the epic part just yet. If I could I would work day and night on epic, but I lost some of my naivity and learned that sometimes you have to do things that are not as fun, like polishing things, if you don't want be steams laughing stock at release

vovka's main concern is that it may end up like Life is Feudal, they said that MMO is in alpha almost from the start, and then release this shit called your own, and year after MMO part not implemented.
You think not so polished epic will end up in early access later on, or we will have to play new CRPG for few years? :D

LiF's main problem isn't really the lack of scale...

Btw: what has changed? We already knew Early Access would be about those battle modes. They made a whole video about it.

The main pressure on this game now is that by them claiming to be releasing polished combat mechanics and core gameplay, they have little room to backtrack if it doesn't go down too well or doesn't really work. They cant fall back on the usual 'it's a work in progress' because they've stated that the combat was the thing they've really focused on for this release. On the other hand, that means if they have made the combat good, it'll be really really fun to play already.

Good. I hate that about other games like LiF and Gloria Victis that you can't complain about their lagging shit of a combat system because it's "pre-alpha" for eternity apparently.

Can't wait for open field battles!!! *crickets*

Very excited for this, I've kind of checked out on keeping up to date on the progress.  Are there going to be mounted units in the game (eventually)?  Because cavalry master race and all that

BTW this looks a little precarious

I will let you know more about what the "Battlegrounds" part includes in some time (short version: more or less everything except horses for now, they need more love)
Maybe if Coronoa virus gets rid of 50 percent or more of the world population we can do without a pope and religion.

This was my first thought reading this thread too.

However, LiF had far from polished combat and core mechanics when the early access came out so that was also an issue and the optimisation wasn't great.

On the other hand, that means if they have made the combat good, it'll be really really fun to play already.

i do like idea of CRPG style gameplay being released because it can be played for a while before gets bored without strategus. I just hope epic part will follow it shortly.

Will there be a wedding dress in the game? And will men be able to wear it?

You have to be PC nowdays bro, cant have a game with discrimination against gay marriage.

I'd be more inclined to know if that approximated "everything" includes a projectile system.

Yeah, I agree. First things first: polish the shit out of the combat to get attention and then proceed with the next level. Otherwise people will say "yet another of those half-assed medieval surival games".

True, but on the other hand.. dont we already have enough medieval fighting games??

Actions speak louder than words. I think the gaming industry promises way to much.
