Just have a look at all the threads. There are a few that have loads of pages with plenty of people having issues. More specifically, this thread contains a lot of info about the problems.
You guys are just lucky.
Meh it plays on my shitty machine ok. Loading times aren't that bad. Actually not as bad as I found DAO and I still have the same graphics card, just better CPU and more RAM.
The only issue I have is once every few hours it will CTD with the display driver not responding, usually just as it loads a new area. But otherwise fine.
Specs: Radeon HD 5750, Phenom II x4, 8gb RAM. Have to have most of the settings on medium and plays well. Took me ages to get the combo of settings right though. Previously it was CTDing just as I came out of the create character page every time. Annoyingly before it's possible to save. So had to re-do my char about 20 times.
You can use "The Keep" (that website they made) to get your former stories straight.
I don't have any old saves but I took like 30 minutes to customize my game world like I played it in DA and DA2. Haven't seen anything wrong yet.

Thing is it still doesn't work. I did it manually through the keep and set it up how I wanted with the equivalent of my original DAO hero. But Morrigan still refers to the 'Hero of Feraldan' as a she for some reason. There were a couple of other annoying references earlier in the game as well that were completely wrong. Naturally they can't get everything right but it does somewhat irk when your DAO character suddenly changes gender
Ideally, rogues shouldn't even be getting hit, but that masterwork is good if you want to play as a pseudo-warrior. What difficulty are you playing on? I recommend Nightmare, it's really not all that Nightmarish in DAI, more like the mode where you actually have to play your class like it should be played.
I'm playing with a mage on normal and it's ridiculously easy. I'm definitely going to restart and probs go rogue and put it on nightmare. I found DAO hard on normal, DA2 easy and DAI is even easier. At level 20 the only things presenting any form of challenge are the tougher Dragons.
