I always chose the manly route of 2H or sword and shield with the heaviest gear I could find. Was a walking truck basically

Yeah never been a big fan of the melee combat in Dragon Age. It's pretty standard and not all that interesting even with the skills. May have changed here but Mage is where it's at if you want big shiny skills. Though I always liked going the archer route as well.

In DA:O some of the more interesting spells (e.i. invulnerability bubble) could become gamebreaking when used with some creativity, that's why in my opinion the best team was three mages and one thief guy for locks.

I was a human 2-hander with Alistair, Morgan, and Leilana. A vanilla and boring line-up, I remember having trouble a handful of times if I didn't pick my targets properly and CC correctly but thinking back I probably also didn't character build efficiently.

When I tried to replay it I couldn't get further than the origin stories without losing immersion and interest thinking about the dwarf and fade part while also having no interest in the other playable characters.
And how!

The game gets WAY better past the Hinterlands. I ended up going Rogue Assassin though, it's pretty much big numbers and the skills are really cool. I got this one skill that throws a dagger and a shadow of me appears and attacks the target on really quickly and disappearing to reappear on a different side, it does this like 9 times doing some pretty good damage. One thing I noticed though is that 1hand shield seems really fun in this game, it seems like a lot of reaction/active gameplay since you gotta block attacks in order to get guard and manage your stamina.

Hinterlands was to time consuming and "meh", weird choice of starting zone..

Game gets alot better after you ditch that place  :)

Divinity is/was a lot of fun but the initial few hours (and several character remakes) were a bit harsh and once I actually got into a stride of killing mobs and bosses I stopped playing after arriving at the second town. If I play something too much in too short of a span any repetitive sounds/music really start grating.

I also want to play Inquisition but don't want Origin.
And how!

Well, I uninstalled the game after about one hour of gameplay.
While the visuals are good, combat (wtf is that), audio, story just pushed me away from playing. Not a game for me I guess  or maybe it's just really that bad.

Leave my goat alone. I got, like, 30 gigs left on my HDD, dude.

I had a 360 and have a semi-working PS2. What the hell am I going to do with these next-next gen consoles?

I have Divinity and I can't bring myself to play it. The density of chitchat during the first few hours makes me want to commit suicide. Everything is slow, even the UI. Somehow DA:O didn't manage to bore me to death despite having a lot of chatting as well.
