New Shulus is a very viable target, and it does make a lot of sense for the Squids to try take it. And yeah, like Heskeytime said, you gotta lay on propaganda on thick in these parts. And it don't get much thicker than the OP.
That being said, the Squids are a truly evil bunch, spreading their slimy tentacles everywhere, trying to force all the players to submit to their democratic republic style faction (democracy is against everything chadz has taught- Calradia needs a King!). What with them trying to crush our immigrant Euro-friends, who just escaped the tyranny of Druzhina/Grey who have plunged Europe into an era of peace and prosperity. They came here seeking blood, violence and destruction! Should we deny them that?
Also Squids kill kittens, eat babies, and rape Japanese schoolgirls. And they're not American at all. They are Iranian terrorists who snuck into the States and seek to take it over. First they take Strat, then the rest of the world.
