To the best of my knowledge you havent provided another reason, you mentioned something about the runes but it was very vague.
I feel that's not a good enough reason to call me a retard for something that I explicitly confirmed was not (by itself) why the banner got removed.
Like i said, i cannot read runes, does it say something bad?
Stolz Mut Ehre, which sounds like something you would put on your Stormfront signature. Again, by itself it's not enough to jump to conclusions, but if you factor in the facts that 1) they use a "viking" banner for a maltese order clan (?) 2) there are swas
tikas too
3) they have Hitler themed alts, I think the decision to remove it was justified and I see no reason to revert it.
By the way, just noticed this post:
It shouldn't even matter if the banner was heinously nasty, racist, sexist, homophobic, and bigoted in every way. A simple addition of a "muting" or "blocking" feature should be implemented for banners. If someone finds themselves offended, they can take measures to prevent themselves from being offended more than a single time. As long as the banner fits the constraints of looking rather decent, being at least vaguely historically/fantasy-based, no other constraints should be put upon it. The burden should be placed upon the viewer, rather than the creator of content to police what they see.
More abstractly, and even less usefully, I believe that becoming offended is a personal and conscious choice. You can view an image that you find distasteful, and take measures to prevent viewing it again, simply ignore it, or argue against the use to the creator. What should not be done is argue to the authority at hand that the entire existence of the content should be erased and prevented from entering into public view again.
The only real issue is actual censorship laws in Germany and Austria (the finer points of which I am admittedly ignorant of) preventing the display of cute puppy, iron cross, or other contemporarily "chocolate chip cookie" symbols. My only experience with this is in another game, Day of Defeat: Source in which German-based groups had to be extremely careful about what they posted on their forums and what they used as their in-game avatars.
Complete and utter crap. If somebody comes to my party naked, dirty and stinking I don't give other people blindfolds and clothespins, I kick him out.
