Just and update on the situation here. The Squids have attacked us several times now twice against traders, and once at the home of the Scottish Rebels. The battles are all being pushed back and at weird times other than dirigh aban. We would love your merc support in these coming battles. They also jumped on a random trader inside our territory (Kalonice, nice to meet you even under poor circumstance) who we are going to do our best to support.

about a week later i notice acre attacked an undefended fief that was a bit outside of our main territory and wrote a really cute RP about it.

I'm so glad you thought it was cute.  I was actually quite tired when I wrote it but I was aspiring to cuteness.

But quite frankly I'm delighted the way things are going.  Successful campaign in the desert, then I got cocky and kept heading west.  And then I was surprised by the might of the G-force armies... I mean really, 3 armies, 2 heavily armed and 1 shiny- yeah shiny! Who the hell makes Shiny equipment here in NA?  And who can afford it?  And all armies over 1200 men.  They surrounded me, but I made a run for it.  And I made it.  But then I got impatient, and, thinking I was safely out of range, marched exhausted men.  Stupid, I know, but I seem to have problems with patience.

But I guess the main point is that I am having fun.  I never expected to leave the desert alive.  The annoying thing is that I was caught retreating East.  I was tempted to head west to hunt caravans or raid villages and be a real pain in the ass until I was finally caught.  Now I am in a battle against a shiny army that outnumbers me 3 to 1.  This, I believe, is an opportunity for glory.  I have great gear, but not shiny gear.  Just the gear that's available in NA.  I am relying on a strong roster.  In fact, I would say signing up for me represents fighting for fun, glory and honour.  Signing up against me means you are totally against the little guy.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Me and Dirk were 2 little guys joining the big world of Strat knowing nothing.  We joined Acre for roster support, and for friends and for enemies.  But we are totally independent.  His Majesty King James does not include us in his strategies.  We are his wild cards, and as long as we follow company policy we can do as like. How many factions offer that?  But so far we've had a great time and plan on having a lot more.  I mean you know you're doing things right when you can't sleep at night because you're worrying about your little strat army or are making plans.

So, to any newcomers who feel overwhelmed by Strat, I say join it.  A couple of guys can actually make a difference.  There are 3 types of players here- those who need to win at any cost, those who play for the fun and community, and people like us, who play just to "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women."  Fight hard, die hard, keep playing.

For those who didn't read that, I'm saying "Me good, them bad".

Oddly enough, I just started playing Strat.  Well, last strat I tried building a few armies but kept getting killed by the bowlers.  After weeks of safe travel, I lost interest.  Then I'd get a message saying 'so and so from FIDLGB defeated you.  I tried getting angry, but their return messages were so funny and great I just couldn't.

If you see me in NA1, I try to attack Acre boys, or better yet my compatriot Dirk (often I get killed trying to get to them), because really, if you're going to get killed, its better when done by friends.

But I'm new enough to be excited by Strat.  Not quite as cold and jaded as you have become.  Do you look  back on your early Strat days with a certain wistfulness?

I mean you've attacked us solely at Ismirala without provocation 4 times within 4 strat rounds. That doesn't mean a relationship has been ruined at all. It just means that if we aren't expecting similar intrusions from you in the future, we'd be pretty gat-dang retarded. Yeah, a lot of us will focus on in NA1 on the rare occasion that you're playing, but that's because if we don't the rest of our team will get pooper-pounded into submission.

It takes a really big fucking-over to cement hostile relations between parties.

Do you all care THAT much about strat you all get pissy with each other over what one faction does in a global environment? Why not kick back in NA1 and chillax in a teamspeak having the good laughs with some friends while we 'gf' each other.
