Have to agree with Xant. Could have at least chosen some badass animal.

They kinda are. Anthropomorphic rats, rabbits, cats, foxes and dogs? Not so much.

I got this free when I bought NS2. Haven't played it yet, I've kind of been waiting for it to get to the point where it's an actual game rather than a tech demo but I guess that's never going to happen.
Don't.

The main character's a rabbit.

I just don't see the point. Why do it? What's the appeal of human-like animals? They'd definitely have a better appeal for more people if they'd just went for humans instead of some weird animal-human cross over.

Got it, I think it's a solo developer who has been going for approx 500 updates, 1 week 1 update.

I think it's two developers, a programmer and an art guy. These are also the guys behind the Humble Bundles, so I imagine quite a bit of their time gets sucked up by that.

Overgrowth is a great demo, but imo not worth the price, unless you really loved their first game, or just want to support an awesome indie company. For EU guys if you do plan on buying it, get it on http://www.wolfire.com/overgrowth, rather than steam. 25 dollars is a lot less than the 24 euros it costs on steam and you get a steam key anyway.

I also want to recommend one of Wolfire's other games, receiver. That game has the most interesting and engaging gun mechanics. It's certainly worth picking up in a steam sale some time (or you get it for free if you buy overgrowth)

Because I think it's based on an old game called Lugaru or something

It's a "spiritual successor." But that isn't an excuse: just because you let your furry fetish get the better of you in years past doesn't mean you have to keep repeating your failures.

That game looks really nice, and I'd buy it if it was finished! Like others though I'm not really digging the animals thing, but I'd be able to look past it if the game was as good as it looks.

Yeah, why make a niche game, when you can make the 100th clone of some popular shit? Damn some people have no clue.

Lugaru was pretty hard, at least the scene where you have to battle 3 wolves at the same time. I think I tried it more than 100 times before getting lucky.

You can´t argue about different peoples tastes; some people like it, some don´t like it.

Just because you don´t agree with the artstyle, you don´t have to cry about it in several posts how much you dislike it.
Guess what:
(click to show/hide)

We´re talking about a nice fighting game here which went through a long development process. Make an own "Xant´s Taste is superior"-thread please  :?

I´m extremely curious about the gamemodes. I mean, you can even put tiny bushes and other objects onto your characters back and let him curl up to "camouflage" himself.

Because having humans instead of furries would make it the 100th clone of some popular shit? Indeed, some people have no clue.

Or maybe you've discovered an unbeatable formula here. You could try selling to to Activision, maybe. If they just changed all CoD characters to furries, they'd have a unique game. No need to change mechanics or anything. As long as it's furries, it's not a clone.

Man Xant, it's nothing like any other game out there even if there'd be humans instead of animals as fighting characters, you sure know how to post a bunch of shit without having a clue of what you're actually on about.

But also playing games like dota 2 has pandas/rats/spiders/bears/wolves in it so it must be a furry gayme.

Did you know in Arma you can actually play a dog? furry game btw guys.

In natural selection 2 you can play alien animals, also a big time furry game for all furry fans out there.

That's exactly my point. I thought it was obvious, I guess not. Need a certain amount of intelligence to appreciate even obvious sarcasm, evidently.

Tip: read zagibu's post. Then read mine. Think about it for ten minutes. If you still don't get it, ask your parents for help.
