Yes it handles suprisingly well. I remember when I wasnt used to the over steer thing yet. I was used to driving my parents dieselengine Mercedes. And when I got on the wheel of my car for the first time I shat bricks. Its a pretty descent sedan yes. There is enough room for 3 people in the back and the boot is quite large to store a lot of stuff. This winter is gonna be the first winter with my car. Cant wait to see how well my skis fit in it. =3
The best thing is how precise the handling is. I drove one Mazda 6 last summer and I just smiled most of the journey because it was actually fun to drive. The ride is not exactly the softest one out there, but it somehow doesn't dive all the way into the bumps like some heavier cars tend to do
(krhm Volkswagen Passat). Don't be fooled tho, it will punish you if you are stupid and drive it carelessly into big holes on the road (which you shouldn't be doing even in a car with softer suspension because it's stupid and you break the car eventually by being stupid). Even my old loyal 323 is similar in the way the handling goes. Precise and nimble. It's a driver's car most definitely, not a sofa on wheels to make you sleepy and bored.
The catch with the 6 series in Finland is that when the first version came out (in 2002?) people didn't bother to buy rust protection to the chassis. So all the earliest 6 series models from 2002-2005'ish are slowly starting to rot from the bottom. Except the cars in Lapland because we don't use road salt as much there. The 2007 model is special in a way. It's some kind of 75 year anniversary version and it's the last of the breed with that original bodywork design (which looks cooler than the later models produced in 2008-2013). It doesn't have the same problems as the first of it's kind and the interior seems nicer.
Really a shame that most of the 6 series here are station wagons. I'm not touching those even with a long stick
... Sedan is so much nicer all around. Just have to find me one of those sweet 2007 sedans, preferably black but dark blue and dark grey could do as well
.
So who's the bigger Mazda Maniac?
