wow just harvested flax, wheat, grapes, and moved beetroots.

I always get of enjoyed farming in haven before, but on larger scale it really does feel like actualy work ;O

I always used to replant a few of the highest Q.

Replant all flax, no matter the Q. Maybe separate the lower Q one and the higher Q. We need as much flax as we can get, as a single banner (to expand village claim) requires 25 linen cloth, which is 125 plant fibres.

my bad, I did plant most but not all. will do next time. all the fibres are in various cuboards.

Edit: Should I make some chainmail shirts too? They are much better than leather armor, but have the penalty of 5 agi, and cost 5 wrought iron.

going to open'er festival in poland next week, then moving. not sure if I will be playing much for a while.

kind of wish we had been attacked or whatever, put alot of time into character only to have him survive to the point that I kind of lose interest. sort of knew it would happen, had it in salem too.

We could start raiding Banok :) But I think we need to get a bit stronger than that.

don't really get how you can raid with the siege system anyway, everyone worth a dam has pallisade so you need a ram.

only thing I could do is snipe afkers too close to walls ;)

Hehe seen it already. Can't wait for the remake / Haven&Hearth 2.0. This is what they told us about it so far:

Quote
The short version of the larger story is that Haven & Hearth will have to be essentially rebuilt from the ground and up, and that doing so will require a fair amount of time and effort on our part, as we wish to take this opportunity of relative tabula rasa to also revisit most, if not all of the relevant game systems, and attempt to improve on them, hopefully without disturbing the integrity of the original vision.

As for the new Haven, we have lots of thoughts and plans for it, and I do not think that speaking of them here in anything but the most general terms will really be meaningful. Suffice it to say that:

We wish to increase the level of playfulness in the game.
We wish to decrease the at times mechanistic feel of character development and progression, and attempt to introduce more meaningful differentiaton along qualitative rather than quantitative lines.
We wish to paint more vivid and varied pictures of nature in general.

Quote
I certainly consider it to be the continued development of the current game, only that it's rather large overhaul. We're still working on the same "vision" that originally produced Haven. For the record, I was planning a more-or-less complete rewrite even before we started working on Salem, as I've mentioned here and there in the context of the new object system in the server, so that provided an excellent opportunity to redo some things that we had already by then realized were less-than-optimal. In case you haven't already read it, Jorb provided some rational, context and vision for the rewrite in his post introducing world 7, and I think it still holds true entirely.

That doesn't mean that it won't turn out pretty different in very many of the details, though. However, it should be noted that even if the game changes in major ways, it's not so much because it's "a new game", so to speak; it's just that rewriting the code makes it easier to make changes we would have wanted to make anyway.

It is drawn using true 3D in all ways; however, it uses a camera that exactly mimics the isometric perspective of 2D Haven, the models are intentionally made to look similar in their rendered state to the 2D graphics in Haven, some things have outlines and/or celshading applied and some other similar concerns are made in order to try and preserve the feeling and style of 2D Haven, while improving it in the areas where 3D can improve it (such as the way the terrain itself is drawn).

For the record, it should be said that we really were unsure of whether to go with 2D or 3D for a long time. The main two reasons we went with 3D were that it's much easier to create new animals, character clothes, equipment and animations and similar things; and also that it's possible to do such things as rotating objects and having a height map. Outside of that, there are many things speaking both for 2D and for 3D, but we felt those things pretty much eclipsed all else.

Also, in case anyone missed it, we don't plan to have any "early testing" period only open to a select few. We pretty much plan to open it for public testing as soon as it's barely playable, just as we did originally. So you can stop nagging is for access to that nonexistent phase.

Looks soooo good :)
Altho the height system on Salem was terrible. 70% of the building process was digging and moving dirt around to make the ground even

Yeah, sure hope they don't bring that to Haven in that form at least. Leveling the ground was above frustrating.

cheers vibe i hadn't read all of that.

yeah raising/lowering terain in salem was fun the first time, but it then just becomes a huge time sync that didn't  add any gameplay value.

also still really curious who made the art, because i'm certain jorb isn't that good. they outsourced the art in salem with paradox money, but now they have no publisher
