Hope you're not one of those who missed vanilla GTA IV's driving system lol. Horrible...horrible. GTA series was never supposed to be realistic (only GTA IV made a somewhat approach at it). Lost and Damned fixed the horrible bike driving system as well as cars (somewhat) and GTA V made it completely good again (bike system was still the best in Lost and Damned however).
I don't personally want realism just for the sake of realism, at least not really in GTA. But hell yeah driving in GTA IV was absolutely brilliant, challenging, interesting and rewarding, unlike driving in GTA 5. Driving in GTA 5 barely requires any effort and is so very boring.
I swear when i drive a car i don't want it to feel like im driving a boat in the middle of the streets lol.
It's me or are you using a realism argument against realism ? Following realism, cars should handle like cars, bikes handle like bikes. In GTA5 cars and bikes alike handle like formula one cars with a kart engine. Bikes are one tenth of the weight of a formula one car, while cars are one half.
Fast car chases and quick turns is what it's all about. Now it's back to good old school arcadey driving which is what it's all about.
It's all about boring you mean. Also more realism would mean unlocked top speeds so cars would actually be able to go much, much faster than what they can right now. They intentionally made cars unable to go faster than some absurdly low arbitrary speeds to please the crowd of "perma accelerate" idiots. Nothing prevents you from doing even more epic car chases with realistic driving except your skill.
Don't worry though. When it comes out on PC you can all change GTA V into something it's not supposed to be and mod in an inferior driving system as well as playable spongebob characters.
It's pretty clear the devs wanted this game to have good driving just like GTA IV did (why make such a massive leap forward in GTA IV if not for that ?) but had to go back on that because of shareholders screaming about the casul market.
