I watched some live stream too, last night. Looks good IMO. I dind't really expect better graphics on the same hardware. World seems huge and much more varied than LC. Nothing essential from GTA4 is missing, although the car handling could probably be better.

Not sure if I'll be getting any DLC for the console version at all, but I do hope Rockstar will follow a different DLC policy this time. I liked how much content TLAD and TBOGT had, but instead of creating several parallel universes, each with their own exclusive weapons and activities, they should really focus on one world and keep adding to it. It's the whole point of sandbox gaming. Adding new playable characters - along with new activities, equipment etc. - to the main game, would be a good way to deal with DLC. I'd definitely like to see RDR-like texas hold 'em poker at some point.

You realize it's not coming to next gen consoles right?....I think it has a better chance of coming to PC than Xbox One or PS4 tbh. They sounded pretty against making it for the new systems.

Rockstar have never said it isn't coming to next gen consoles, they just shut down a massive hype train caused by Sony that were assuming it was, even though they haven't said anything solid themself.

Personally I can't see why they wouldn't release it for the new gen consoles, they don't have to "make" it again, it's a solid business move, but so is keeping quiet and making people assume it wont come out for the new gen consoles. Why? because many people who will be buying a new gen console  might have just said "fuck it I'll just wait a couple of months and buy it for the new consoles", instead now a ton of people will be buying it for the current gen and then if Rockstar do release a new gen compatible GTA V everyone with new consoles will buy that too.

Rockstar are a smart company and it would be a stupid move to release a game as big as GTA that's exclusive to the current gen consoles when there are new gen consoles 2 months away, from a sales point of view it would be retarded if they don't plan on releasing it on new gen consoles. Sales for games like that go on for months and months, along with console sales, but when everyone gets new consoles why will they be buying games for their old consoles? some people do, but not many. I know a lot of people myself who aren't buying GTA V for the current gen consoles because they would rather save their money for new gen console and new gen games.

I guess the big GTA fans will buy it and play it, but again, how long is the multiplayer going to last once most people have moved on to play a plethora of new awesome games on their new gen consoles. I think the GTA games are awesome, but I wont be buying GTA V unless it hits new gen consoles or PC, if it doesn't then oh well, I guess I'm just not a big GTA fan anymore. I played GTA4 mostly for the multiplayer as the main character was annoying as fuck and the story bored the shit out of me, the freeroam havoc aspect just doesn't appeal to me anymore considering it's what I've been doing since GTA1.

Yes, Rockstar is as smart as they are disrespectful of their own customers. By not announcing and delaying the PC versions of their games, they have always sold many more console copies than they would have. I have no doubt they will pull the same shit with next gen consoles. A lot of people will buy the game two or three times. I will probably get the PC version later myself, although most likely when on sale, as I did with IV. No fucking wonder, PC sales are so low compared to consoles...

If you watched both the trailers and some actual gameplay, you can't help noticing, current gen graphics don't display the full potential of the game engine. So, obviously the whole thing was developed to run on better hardware as well, wether that's the PC, next gen consoles or (my guess) both.

Not sure what you guys are talking about.....the game is miles ahead of IV graphically. I'm quite impressed they managed to do what they did on 7 year old hardware.
I'm rock, nerf paper, scissors is fine. Welcome to c-RPG.

Just how much did purchasing a song from Queen cost Rockstar? I bet it costs an arm and leg.
(to a normal person ofc, not Rockstar)

Nevermind, the music in every GTA is top notch awesome.

Well the budget for the game was 300 mil. dollars so let's say they had the money

It's the biggest budget in gaming and second biggest in entertainment surpassed only by the Pirates of the Carribean (dunno what part, don't care tbh, prolly the last one) and they are expecting to make over 1 bil. and to sell 25+ mil. games the first year. Mind you GTA games sell well over time too, so quite a bit on money to be made.

As for the PC and next gen versions, I think next gen. is a no brainer and PC will come around spring time 2014, will wait and then preorder it as son as it becomes available on Steam.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

The driving looked more or less the same judging from those videos. "Arcadey" to me means I never let go of the accelerator and make hair pin turns at top speed when I feel like it.
And how!

Nope they killed it. Having played GTA IV recently I can tell you that both acceleration speed and turn speed has been like doubled. Cars bounce of crashes like its NFS. They fucking killed it. Dammit I loved the driving in GTA IV, doing multiplayer car chases was awesome. You could develop some actual skill at driving fast.

Come on, thats arcadey. Don't think linking time works like this, in any case 7:45 of the last video.

It's far more arcadey. If I attempted to make turns at those speeds in GTA IV I'd be
literally flying out of the turn
tires screeching
blood spilling and people screaming when my out of control car hits them
end in a glorious crash that would completely destroy my vehicle
and possibly throw me out of the front window to smash my head on the concrete

Seriously, I'm sad. Even the collision mechanic is way different, like Teeth said. I mean you really fucking bump from other vehicles like they were bumper cars. In GTA IV you smashed and flattened your vehicle when colliding with another.
