The idea that being a good duelist does not make you better at cRPG in general is bullshit.
A good duelist will be able to land more hits, faster on a target.
The key method of dueling can be broken down
*own effective radius (each attack)
*opponents effective radius (each attack)
*blocking succesful as much possible on as many angles as possible
*footwork -needing to block on as few angles as possible as little as possible
-making your opponent need to block as awkwardly as possible as often as possible
*Attack direction choice ping, opponent speed, skill, armour, spacial relationship to you, turnspeed, velocity relative to you, wpf, damage, stun potential..........directly linked to footwork
*aggresion and attack frequency balancing risk and reward
*shield hp for hoplites and sword and board players
*feinting, kicking and pausing again balancing risk and reward
*kick feints, deadmeat77's and any other tricks
There are many more factors to consider. I challenge anyone to find a skill listed above that you shouldnt consider employing in battle during any kind of melee combat.
