The biggest barrier to cavalry is the abundance and cheapness of pikes, bamboo spears, and long spears. Basically every army is going to be almost half pikemen, at least from what i've seen. Simply because the long polearms are so good in the field battle fights. Where cav would also be good.

We obviously need a HX Cav army.

- taking part in strat battles =decresing Equipment prises
- winning a battle(only the generals of the 2 parties envolved), decresing troop upkeep
- making successful trade runs with at least 3 types of goods and not more then 100 goods of each type. Increases the amount of tradeable goods without malus by 1
- buying with 500 Strategus Tickets 40% "chance" to see parties with also their numbers and armament within a fief, if succesful, the range within that character can be spoted aslong he has less then 50 troops, is decreesed
- defending a fief succesfully, gives you a days portion of Production Points usually earned in that type of fief
- attacking  a fief succesfully, gives you a days portion of Production Points usually earned in that type of fief, difference to the defence, you can choose the fief where you wanna spent these production points

This is a malus. I don't know why people keep mentioning them, but they are neat, I suppose.

easy exploitable  by fights against 100 naked, bonuses should not be based only on the fact of victory in the attack or defense. Every day all towns will be under attack "randoms" with 100 naked troops.

damn i always judge by my standards  and therefor sometimes don't see the exploits and ... sleep deprivation may be another excuse

EDIT:
Malus = german word for penalty, not sure if it is in latin the same and would get therefor the upper class bonus for snobs to use it.

Is renown a step to suggested strategus-only skills?

Possibly Renown could be gained through kills in strategus battles.
So one kill in a battle would result in one renown point.
Also i believe that the winning teams "commander" should get a bonus in the battle of consisting around 10% of all the renown gained by his side.

chadz as far as i can see this , you want that certain actions would improve the same actions or actions which have closely to do with the action done in the first place right? So gathering renown would automaticly put into boni onto those said actions. In terms of RP, and if the stacking of these boni would be rather restricive in their effects, what do you think about leaving it to the players to improve with their owned renown , certain "skills" aka improvements onto said actions.

The packaging could be some shiny names, the effect decreasing with level of these skills and at the same time increasing cost of renown to be used for it.

Explicit is better than implicit

Renown: 174830

LOL... with these amounts you will quickly get an overflow and some negative renown

The original post suggests that it's based on the value of items lost in battle; apparently it's 1:1.

I was somewhere around 3500 earlier today. FCC had some battles tonight, but I was not actually there for them. Still, I currently have 10803 renown.

Not sure why it's items' you lost instead of items killed on enemy team.

Also are heirloomed items giving inflated values or something? Cuz lost 160 medium (few heirloomed items) geared guys at New Tash Kulun last defence night and only gained 4,200 renown. VE lost about 5 times as many guys at New Dustiril battle, but gained about 40 times more renown? Seems kinda whack.
