If you want to keep track of file updates in NEXUS website, go to your account options, and enable notifications for new file uploads, save, then go to every mod you want to track and click on "track". Then every update of your tracked files will be notified to you by the icon at the top with a number (0 if no updates yet). After the last changes in the website, it's not very responsive; sometimes, even if it says 0, there might be updates and you have to click on the icon to see a list. This way it's very easy to keep track of updates for your favourite mods.

Forget about Steam Workshop, unless it contains mods that aren't hosted in NEXUS. NMM (Nexus Mod Manager) works very well, making installing and uninstalling mods pretty easy.
Always run LOOT after you have installed all your mods (or after installing a new mod mid-save to position it correctly in the load order). LOOT is the new beta version of BOSS, and it works like a charm, without the need of BUM or anything else. Run it and everything is sorted! Failure to sort your mods properly will result in anomalies in-game and CTD (Crash To Desktop) or IFL (Infinite Load Screens).
If you install more than one mod that alters levelled lists (what "respawnable" NPC's carry, like bandits), then you must (re)build "Bashed Patch, 0.esp" with Wrye Bash.
Remember to install SKSE (version 1.6.16), as most mods will require it. If you download the extractable file, you must extract everything, including the folder, into Skyrim's main folder.
You will always have to run the game with "skseloader.exe" for it to work (so make a non-steam shortcut in your Steam library of this file and always run the game with it; don't worry, it will count as playing the original Skyrim, and your hours will be counted).
You should also add this:
[General]
ClearInvalidRegistrations=1
to SKSE.ini in C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE (if you don't have it, create a new .txt and rename it to SKSE.ini) so it can help avoid corrupted saved games if you uninstall scripted mods.
If you plan on using HQ texture mods, you should use Optimizer Textures once you have installed everything - I use "maximum profile" and resize if bigger than 2048.
If you have to uninstall scripted mods throughout a game, use Savegame script scalpel to clean the saved game of orphan scripts.

- Second, wait a minute without doing anything (not in menus, just let your character "AFK"), then make a normal save (esc - save game), then exit the game.
- Open the program, load the saved game, let it analyze until it says "analysis complete" on the left (it might take a couple of minutes), then click on "Remove unattached instances", until it says "removed x number of instances" (bottom-right), then click on "Remove instances", tick "Remove instances with undefined classes only", then remove, and, when done, close the program.
- Go to your saves folder (my documents), move those last saves you edited (not the ones that start with EDIT) to your desktop (for example) then copy their name (without file extension) and paste it in the new EDIT files in saves folder (renaming them like the originals).
- Run the game, load the save, wait a minute, then make another normal save.
- For maximum safety, repeat the previous process - sometimes it might take another pass with the scalpel to completely clean it (I know, Skyrim is a bitch to mod). If the second pass doesn't eliminate any scripts (0 in both actions) then you can just delete those new EDIT files and forget about it.
- Finally, to go back to wherever you were, type "help xxxx", where xxxx is the closest place; if you were near Whiterun, type "help whiterun" and scroll through the console with ScrlUp and ScrlDn to find "CELL" commands, then you would type "coc whiterunexterior01" (one of those CELL commands) to teleport yourself near Whiterun.

Loot and Degradation makes tempered gear degrade and puts enchanted and tempered gear in the leveled lists.

Oh dam, think its time for a replay.. I used the mod that alters the weapon position in first person, do these go together?

I don't know. To be sure, read the description of both mods you're interested in and, as far as I know, this kind of mods don't work if you change the FOV (default 65), although I haven't tested it much.

Optimizer Textures.

Great modding tips and mod list. The unofficial patches, SkyUI and convenient horses are essential imo, I don't even bother starting the game without these mods installed.
"Run for your lifes" and "when vampires attack" are also essential for me, even though they don't seem to work sometimes. Still Skyrim is already pretty lifeless so I don't need stupid dragons or vampires killing all the townsfolk.

Sadly Skyrim kinda lost it for me. I recently achieved all the steam achievements, which was quite a grind, and finished most of the quests, so there isn't much to do anymore.

Guess I will do some modding now. I thought about making my own follower mod (like UFO or AFT) but it's pretty hard to do without scripts. The thing is those mods are just too bloated for me, it would be great if there were "lite" versions of these mods. There's just way too much unnecessary stuff...

Try EFF. It's my favourite follower mod.

If I ever decided to make a mod, I'd try to make a better version of Deadly Combat, where, instead of stagger, attacks would just interrupt, letting you move, and recovering from the hit fast, like in Warband. Vanilla combat sucks balls, though, and I don't like the other combat mods, so I stick to Deadly Combat, even though the stagger could use some tweaking.

Did anyone have an advice for this problem i have in skyrim? The keys of Convenient Horse doesn't work anymore for me, i can't loot,harvest or open the inventory neither set the horse follow/stay with the keys.
This is weird coz everything else works fine, the mounted combat, the whistle and horn call also. And it happened in the middle of a game, all of a sudden...i haven't installed any new mod/version or whatever, it just broke.
