I did but fucked up my build so badly I found myself completely gimped and unable to get past certain points. So I raged and started again following a build.

I always wondered why people are using something like pre-defined builds, when they can just sink their points in whatever they deem useful and necessary.

Tseng: Used to the bitter taste of refusal, this only serves to reinforce his greatest life lession yet.
Cloud: And that is?
Tseng: Bitches, man.

Probably because there is no useful in-game documentation whatsoever on what stats do and you can fuck up your build ie. if you decide your warrior needs both to be strong and agile. Another case of bad design which supposedly will be adressed in the sequel.

I did but fucked up my build so badly I found myself completely gimped and unable to get past certain points. So I raged and started again following a build.

Out of curiosity, care to elaborate what build you had and what stopped you?

Mods compatible with cRPG. New crosshairs, textures, sounds, yay.

I can't remember exactly but I spread my points around to much. I went for a dexterity build the second time and focusing on just a couple of areas made me 10x stronger.

A minimal "working" build that can take on most enemies in the game given enough patience and skill is fairly cheap. Also maybe it's because I'm a Demon's Souls veteran but understanding how Dark Souls character sheets work and what you need to upgrade to acheive something isn't very complex.

aaaw yeaaah i love dark soul so much, and seems that they will release PC version around march as well and it will be better ported to PC than previous dark souls.
people are like potatoes, they come in different shapes and sizes and they all are beautifull
masturbating while looking in a mirror isnt wrong unless its the rear view mirror and you are driving a school buss.

it doesnt matter if you are happiest person or an unfortunate weeper, a powerfull beast or a terrifying creature. we are all equal, in the eyes of the reaper.

I think im going to break my trend of always going no shield dex build first playthrough, in dark souls 2 i will be a sorcerer, seems like they improved castings a bit by adding first person aiming like with bows and stuff.

Yeah. You have a light and strong attack of EACH magic spell, just like each weapon has a light and strong attack. You can also aim in first-person by 2handing the magic weapon.

Magic is still in charges, but there are now items that restore that.

I think I'll go for a STR build, dunno if getting agi yet. And get a fast bow as secondary to finish off stranglers. But problem with making a good build on first playtrough, so many good weapons and new things to test, probably why I'm going STR and not dex, since most cool weps tend to be STR
