Crossbow cav RAGE thread....

Lets nerf every RANGED CAV and RANGED to let Infantry and melee Cav nominate in cRPG, as it is said meleegaming.com

Make all ranged weapon deal 1 damage, then everyone will respec into melee, then remove all ranged, everyone happy

after ranged is finally gone from the game now lancers will eat all infantry hard

On a real note.... Shouldn't they have to like stop or something to reload... the way it stands they are just really OP if the guy riding them is as patient as Yoda.

One of throwers few battlefield responsibilities is to help keep friendly infantry safe from harrassment by cav and HXbowmen are one of the worst to encounter as a melee inf, your best option is to stay near friendly ranged + long poles.
It's a sad fact but teamwork is just about the only response to them, a couple archers/throwers with a pikeman or two will help the team massively if they work together.

Do you think people could jump with full plate on? That people used 2h in such large quantities over histories most dominant weapon, the spear? Or that people didn't use shields? How about the fact that the Xbow was singularly the most powerful weapon on the battlefield, with minimal training, and was even banned by the Pope?

Yes, go with your stupid RL argument about HX and I'll shove a hundred more back at you. It's a GAME and if you want RL then do it yourself in real life, or build a damn time machine. RL stays in RL. Game is not RL.

Wonder if that's the full set? He's not wearing the Chainmail underneath. He's also not wearing the padded armor you're supposed to. looks more like it's just padding for not getting injured.

Armor only weighs 40 ish kilos(about 80 pounds). That's not much different than what a modern Soldier wears(they carry up to 50-60 kilos not counting there weapon) and they can do quite a bit of stuff.

cRPG is not based on realism, if it is then please make people die in 1 lance thrust/ people die in 1 horse bump, that would be epic

HX is great for killing pikeman/ de-horsing cav

I thought Napoleonic Wars worked pretty well for how they handle mounted guns:  You can reload while mounted but you have to stop moving first.  Actually crossbows should be easier so I would think reloading at a slow trot would be acceptable.

Reloading while careening around a corner, circus trick style, on a loomed Arabian at maximum speed is just unrealistic, dumb and makes the game worse.
