Use this thread to nominate maps that need to be updated or removed.

EACH MAP NEEDS AT LEAST 5 NOMINATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR REMOVAL/UPDATING.
Bugs or even disliking a map are reasons to nominate one.
DO NOT DISCUSS MAPS HERE, THIS IS A NOMINATION ONLY THREAD. I'm creating a separate thread to deal with discussion. Any posts without nominations will be deleted.

IMAGES PROVIDED BY myself and some of the map makers.
If the map creator wants to update a picture just send me a PM.

Castle Hideout - Ladder to crow's nest with flag needed.
Helm's Deep - Make defense spawn outside flag area.
Steppe Castle 2 - Ladders to lower part of keep in center.
Foothold - Strengthen rear door.

I don' think this is really meant to ask for the editing "in favor of" for multiple maps... thats a lot of work for very few people to do

If you'd see how many people complaining on the server (and not on the forum), you'd probably reconsider ... What's the point to make a map and don't want to edit it if people don't like it ? It will just be removed and all the work and hours you put on it will have served for nothing .. your call

Amen. I was originally thinking along Wallace's lines but then I was like, "You know what, people put hard work into these and it is obvious they have their merits so a little editing might redeem them." Others...like Phoenix and Wallace are just painful to play.

 Lets all help Airith out by keeping this thread clear of debate. I am willing to edit any map if the community wills it, minor edits can take as little as 10 minutes.

Remove Phoenix castle

Its still just too big, it needs to be compacted and attackers shouldnt have to walk 20sec to even see castle walls

+2 for removing Phoenix Castle. I made this map and I have been watching it. Sadly it is just way too big. Attackers dont have a chance.


But I hope to redeem the idea of a city siege with my new map. It is MUCH smaller.

Some of the images are broken for me.  I'm unsure of the name of the castle, here is a rough description: 1 siege tower, grassy, four stone walls with some unusable siege equipment, a burning tower, and a workable gate.  The flag is in the centre of the castle, which consists of wooden stairs leading down into a pasture which expands to feature the flag.

This castle is currently bias in favour of attackers.  Though defenders can win, it's mostly because of attackers becoming fatigued.  The most salient issue is the wooden overhang on the front wall which would normally be used to protect archers.  No archers actually use it, and instead it just becomes a perfect placement point for ladders which are supremely hard to get to for defenders and effectively negate the whole front wall.  The only way to access the ladders from inside the castle is by going up and jump out of the adjacent tower, a tactic which eats up defender's time and which is hard to coordinate without teamspeak.

For Steppe Castle I recommend either removing the map or reversing the staircase next to the ramp's breaching point.  Right now, once the front wall becomes even partially overrun, the entire battle becomes a pitched fight near the flag.  This feature is boring for siege, and I hope it gets modified somehow.
