I just bumped into this interesting space game, appears to be in Beta right now, it looks very, very promising.

Especially if you like the space genre.

I don't know how the f2p approach will work, it could make the game lousy but we'll see.

16. What types of spaceships there are in Star Conflict?

For private mercenaries there are going to be various types of fighters which are basically divided into 3 categories – light, medium, heavy. There will also be special opportunities for clans and clan pilots. This is secret at the moment.

There is also some word about battleships, so I guess one category will include some capships.

Ah, quick edit: The FAQ mentions playable Frigates. That's as massive as you can get here, it seems. A frigate was the ship that set the frontal shields to full in the trailer, I guess.

I'm always leery of the game, but I don't dismiss it out of hand. If it seems interesting I'll try it out, if not then I ignore it.

It's the only thing that bugs me, yeah.

Rather make it a one time purchase or something, but that wouldn't give constant income like transactions, I guess..

I didn't find it on their site either, except the beta sign up thing and I didn't receive anything since I signed up so lol.  I asked for beta access on their forum in the right topic, now I am waiting for the answer.

You are wrong, F2P games can be good too. For example, Tribes Ascend is very good, and paying dudes only get double xp, no overpowered items for money and shit like that. Most of the F2P games are really shit though.

Yeah, not like you have to grid weeks or months for casual players to get enough exp for some of the weapons...Which you can easily buy for gold.

Tribes ascend is an example of nice to play for free, but it´s not the best example in terms of how paying for things should work.

Paying almost 10 euro for 1 weapon?Really?Hell no.

On the other hand, that weapon costs like a bazillion exp, so either grind your ass off like a chinese whore or buy it.

I started playing Tribes like 3-4 months ago, I didn't grind to the death, didn't even play every day and I almost have all the things I want for my Brute. On the other hand, I played World of Tanks too, and that was MEGA GRIND for me, so I quitted,  every rich motherfucker buys premium tanks and ammo and then owns you, very fair, really. At least, you can get everything in Tribes by investing some time, and is a skill based game rather than buy all the op shit for money and be the best game.
