I hate the map, where one team spawn in a village, the other team spawns at the other end of the map behind a field with a fence around it, and it has some hills and a windmill around it.

You can remove mirror maps from the poll, those will be never used on EU.

Remember if you judge them, they won't always be played, the mapcycle is quite big. The cav player deserves a nice map too, after thousands of inner city maps. For example "Tilting at windmills" might look stupid/too simple/too box-mapy, but after hours of villages/cities/the rest it might be a refreshing expierience.

You guys have a lot of siege maps on your battle server there. I think every map that has the name of a city is a siege map. Everything that is Blank X is player -made.

I really have to voice out here.


Huge amount of these single player village maps, are one team spawns inside village, other team starts far away.
And allmost all of these village maps end up with archers camping on roof tops. (which ever teams manages to take em)
Many of these maps, like way over 50% are hilly.

See a pattern here?

All these maps are making been cav hard if not down right useless.
Wanno attack archers? Sorry they are all on roof tops.
Wanno attack inf? Sorry that hill makes you ride slower than donkey. (no offence chadz)


Jamiche, Dugan and Habba are the exceptions of these maps.  :!:

Yes, like all EU1 maps they have village for the other team to start, but thats no reason to remove em. (with that reasoning we would have maybe 10-20 maps left)
As for the boring part. Well yeah everything gets boring after playing the same maps for months. (there are new maps and i am all for "lets try em out")
But the reasoning that they are flat? "Cav can ride there?" -> "We cant have that, remove it!"

Damn, leave cav some maps where they can make a difference for their team and enjoy their build. (that makes them the under dog in all the other maps)  :!:

Remove Saren. Basically a nice little village, but the other team spawns in the village on top of a giant hill and the other team under that. Would be nice if someone fixed the spawns though.

Remove Battle on the Ice. It just doesn't work for cRPG anymore. The ship side attacks, loses, decides to camp the boat. The forest side either camps and wins anyway or stupidly charges out onto the ice to be shot and/or ridden down by cavalry. Same every time.
The word is "anyway" not "anyways". You are not Gabby Hayes.

I think it's one of the best maps, and pretty balanced too. Definately -1 for removal proposition.

Here is how i analyze a map.

1) open space -> cavalry map. If there's a nice plain for horse to run around, it's a cav map, and thus unbalanced towards cav (not towards a team, but autobalance usually places most cav on one team)
2) lots of hills and obstacles -> archery map. No need to explain why.
3) some advantageous hills or camping spots opposed to totally exposed valleys and plains -> camping map. Remove the camping spots but provide also cover in the open and some obstacles for cavalry

A balanced map is a map without too many hills, without any huge hills/mountains, and without a large plain. Keep it balanced, smaller plains, obstacles, some hills (possibly at map center to avoid them being used as camping spots). Today i noticed on eu1 a new map being used, that was used on eu4 before (the one with the small village and a huge plain before it).. That's totally a cav map and shouldn't be used at all.

So, you want some maps removed, but nearly no suggestions so far.
Going to edit the servers Sunday-Monday night when the servers are nearly empty, until then you got time to suggest some nice maps, else you will still face many villages in the map cycle :/

Too small map, you start in front of enemy at 70 m only,  battle is mainly around/in/on the middle house.

I totally agree for Gisim, most boring map ever.

I would like to see another respawn point for attackers, in front of village, because the battle is going on only one side of the village, always at church.

Generally the desert village maps are all pretty good mix of flat plains and cover so i'd suggest any of these!  any maps where one team starts in a village on a hill and the other team starts on open foot of the hill is just too unbalanced for me :D
