1 week and 4 patches later, I'm starting to really like this. And they're still working on it.
There are still bugs, but they're fixing them in an amazing pace and the big gamebreaking ones have been dealt with. Very pleased with how they responded with the criticism.

And sadly, this is one of the best RPGs released in a while. Still.

Agreed.

Only thing I'd like to get my hands on would be a working Gatekeeper for the BG:EE, I just wanna change my Fighter dual Thief PC to Male Thief paperdoll, them hoods are too cool!

Never heard of Gatekeeper, but I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of mods were made to be BG:EE compatible.

Try to give BGII a chance, then, especially the writing is more consistent.

Baldur's Gate II was one of the most well-written games ever.  They definitely broke away from the fantasy D&D nonsense, and really really built each and every character and subplot to an incredible degree.  I agree, they walk a tight rope, especially in #1, trying to please cosplaying weirdos, serious tabletop warriors, larpers and people who want to be gnomes and halflings and such, but they really aged BG2 up in maturity.  Keldorn, Jon Irenicus, Yoshimo are some of the most memorable characters I've experienced.

Throne of Bhaal continued the intricate plot behind the main characters, and wound up being a bloodbath as your high level dudes plow through hundreds of random dudes trying to kill you,  I took it much less seriously at first, plotwise, but it was an awesome addition in the end.

A shot of thrill to hide the pain.
They can`t win, they just don`t cry,

I'm still struggling on getting through the first Baldur's Gate with the TUTU mod but the only way I would even consider this enhanced version is if they fixed the god awful path-finding. This game is filled with dungeons and tight-spaces and I really can't stand it when I get into a heated battle in one of these areas and it's made even more difficult by the fact that characters will decide to run a giant circle, block others, or just twitch in place even though there's space to get by but I have to guide them manually.
And how!

After Planescape: Torment the bestest cRPG ever!
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

Tried multiplayer with Thomek today. Good fun. And it could be EPIC if there were 6 players.

GateKeeper (for BGI, or Shadow Keeper for BGII) is a save game editor that allows you to, as it states, edit the saved game files.

Sadly I tried to use it on BG:EE to no avail, perhaps I'm doing something wrong, might need to do some research to either get it to work or find alternatives.

So after reading this thread, and being constantly urged by a good friend I got 1 and 2. Injected oodles of mods and what not to it and wow. Once my eyes got used to the graphics I actually began enjoying them and the game much more. Toward the end of the 1st one I started going all meh with it, but still enjoyed the system. Picked up IWD2 which is all about stabbifying things with little no purpose. Did that for a bit because having a 100%custom party was pretty cool.

Again, at his urging, I went and finished BG1. (For the record he told me I could have skipped it, but I refused on the off chance I might have liked it. Good thing I did.) Once I got into BG2, the "hey this is what previously happened" cutscenes werent anywhere near the real thing(dur?). I was very glad I grinded through some parts of BG1. SoA is awesome!

I offered to multiplay with him but he refuses saying that you lose out on tons of story without the npcs arguing with eachother. I've learned so far, Paladins and Drow are not great friends. BG1 and 2... Don't do it. Also. Minsc. Minsc will never leave my party! Butt-kicking. For goodness!

Icewind Dale 2 however might be better for multiplay. The lacking npc interaction will quickly be replaced by your own chatter on ts / vent / mumble as you try to stay alive, especially on harder difficulties. The story is bleh, but there are A LOT of fights, and big ones. I read reviews and most said 90% is fighting, which is just about right. Definitely doable as a 2 play.

So just wanted to write about my experiences. I did not get enhanced edition because I had the regular installed before EE came out and was too lazy to reinstall. Also, Golden Pantaloons.

Edit: Began multiplayer Icewind Dale 1. After about 30 minutes of character creation and what not, we decided we needed money for equipment because you only start with a quarterstaff. The innkeeper where we started said she would give us 5 gold to kill rats in the cellar...

That bitch lied. We went downstairs and were HORRIBLY MURDERED by about 4 beetles. They didn't even aggro until we hit them, but when they did, the went around and 1 shotted each and every one of us. Goddamnit hard mode. (We hadnt saved)
