Looming leg-armor - is it worth it?

Hey guys,

I plan to loom foot-armor when I retire next (only thing I do not have not loomed at all till today).

Now I made some tests with the WPF Calculator:

Boots below weight 1 give no WPF penalty at all, whereas boots with 2 weight or more give 2 % WPF (at least in combination with my body armor and headarmor set I always use).
2 % might not sound much, but I want to use my WPF as effective as possible and also light boots costs like "no" upkeep, whereas heavy boots can cost 150 - 200.
But if you have a weapon thats cost 1k and body armor for 1,2 k boots could be the thing where to save money.

Now I noticed that light boots only get 4 armor more (same as light body armor) instead of 5, because they dont get the lordly-status, but only reinforced.

So, what are your experiences with loomed foot-armor, tell me what you would loom (or already have loomed), I´m curious.

Leg armor is mostly useful for cav, because it is much more exposed when you ride. The best choice for inf is probably the lightest one that gives +5 when heirloomed 3 times.

I just did it to got everything loomed and tbh i don't notice any difference between normal shynbaulds and the lordly ones^^
In Melee nobody tries to hit your legs and archers usually don't aim at the legs.

Comes in handy as cavalry, though.

Pikeman and spearman can hit you in the leg

Oh that effort is like 3 Gens ago, I planned to stay 2h and play to level 32 and such, but I just retired 100 k xp after level 31, because more looms and changing your build is better then a few levels more

Would be good to see more high level players again, and its good to keep retiring yes :P

2h and polearms can hit me in the leg, too. But still nobody really aims for them.

Only good pikeman will aim for the legs, as most people don't usually get expensive leg armor. Pike is kinda useless in siege, in battle pike user do aim for the leg (English Pikeman)  :P

Yeah, by asking "is it worth it" I also ask if it is worth at all, so maybe I could just sell my loom point and be a rich man again, or loom another nice weapon to fight with. Thats the question

Like i said, i just did it to feel "complete" =D

If you are cav -> go for it
Any other classes -> pretty useless

I have fully loomed everything I use but my boots are still bog-standard.

With the new patch the damage to the legs is something within the range of 53-55% of the actual damage before the armour reduction anyway. On another point, you get leg armour from your body armour as well.

With my current armour, I get 10 from my body armour and 19 from the boots, that's 29, while my body armour is at 27+9=36 with only a damage percentage of 67. In effect, i've got about the same amount of leg armour, without looming my boots and having cheap ones (Rus Cav Boots) as I do with my fully loomed gloves and armour.

Personally, I don't believe it's particularly worth it due to the fact that your lower body is deemed less important than say, your spleen. I would, if you can really be bothered to get a fully loomed set of equipment, leg armour is only really worth it for cavalry, who are more than likely going to get their legs amputated at least once a map.

Leg armour for Rus Cav Boots would increase the armour from 19  to 23 (+1, +1, +2 afaik) a nice increase but fairly pointless for someone who tends not to get hit in the legs.

Thank you Google Translate, I always wondered what my name was in German.  :|
Yes, it is true I buy what I like but I haven't for a while. Black Armour Archery can be costly.
