Courser: Is it worth using?

King of speed in the old days, with it's stock 50.

However, now it's only 46, and other more armoured, stronger horses have only a bit less.

Like the Destrier's 42.
Will that 4 speed decide battles for you? 50 did, but I doubt a difference of four would.

I don't really see it reasonable to use that paper horse these days, or am I wrong?

'Does the Courser still worth it?'

That doesn't make you think about the correctness of the sentence?

Ah well, I'm just nitpicking

Ontopic:

The courser used to be kind of a no brainer, now its more balanced and all the horses have their specific strengths and weaknesses. None is clearly superior to the other. It's really just a matter of personal preference now instead of overpoweredness. I think the courser is still a great choice because it has decent charge/armour/hitpoints and still superior speed.

Just like a fighter, which is why I love it.

The Arabian Warhorse (The grey one, not sure if I got the name right) is ridiculous when champion...-ized. I may eventually switch to it, but for now, I'm sticking with my Courser.

I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

Don't use a Courser. It's maneuver is crap. You'll spend 80% of your time trying to figure out how to take enemies by surprise rather than actually killing them (that is, by surprise or not). You'll have an hard time killing any aware infantry/ranged with more than 2 athletics. And the worst thing you could do is to try the Arab. Especially when loomed, you will get used to the superior maneuver in no time and be totally helpless when using other horses. It's a bit like if you were supposed to hit scooter, had a family wagon and suddenly be thrown and have to pilot a 60T truck. I'm serious. The freedom of high maneuver is a drug.

Go rouncey, destrier, cataphract or mamluk.

I use the large warhorse for the 40 maneuverability, I think an agile horse is going to save your skin a bit more then a fast one depending on what kind of situation you get yourself in. It's one point slower than the rouncey but hardier. The courser's speed does allow you a smaller window of being heard I think, Huey's horse and other champion coursers have been on top of me before I even had a chance to react to the hooves. The equipment in this game generally comes down to comfort more then stats, for me anyway.
And how!

Courser is epic fun, lot of times i get even aware people down just cause i close in so fucking fast, with champion one that is. Arab is cool for tighter areas, but is squishy as hell.

I go for courser on sarranid or plain maps, on others i pick horse depending on mood and terrain, or i go by feet
