it will probably be in the uxkhal or Thir areas as they are unclaimed.

Those are Union and 22nd, respectively.

Pro tip: nothing is unclaimed. Even if it was, someone would claim it after you. If can't fight, don't bother trying to claim anything.
Don't.

Yes, especially if you back out publicly from your claim when someone contests it... :P

Strategus is tough right now for new/small clans. I recommend to either work as traders/caravan guards/raiders for now or look for an alliance with bigger clans.

Some of them will probably offer you fiefs in exchange for gold/troop/battle contributions down the line.

Oh and not all people in the community are as bad as it seems in this thread. You were just making the "newbie" mistake of catching them on a delicate topic. Good luck in the future to you and yours!
For while the fire in the heart of a single Remnant still burns... can Stratia truly have fallen?

Thanks Dynamike but I am not worried about how people appear in this thread, or how entitled they feel they are to certain areas in strat. Neither do I consider it a newbie mistake to lay a claim to unclaimed lands if they so called "bigger" clans are too lazy or slow to post their claims with everyone else. In my opinion, that's their noob mistake, not mine.

I didn't back out just because they contested it, I am simply not stupid enough to war someone over their inability to coherently articulate their intentions. If they feel so entitled they should be more responsible. It doesn't bother me and it doesn't affect my clan's plans much. I claimed land that appeared unclaimed as I'm sure anyone would have done in my position and they can get fucked if they fail to see that.

Dat attitude.

How is it a big clan's "noobish" mistake if they make their claim "slowly"?  :D If the smaller clans just back off, they can make their claim whenever they want.

They presume they own the land without making official claims and then scoff when people mistake the land as unclaimed. It's plain retarded to think that anyone would bother trolling every thread in the faction halls to see who claims what. You don't think that's noobish, but you think people claiming unclaimed land IS?

What is official claims?
Only claims i see is what you can take and keep with blood and iron.
Imo claims mean nothing and i'm not sure that every faction land will represent their original claims.
Btw, you could thx them that they warned you, they could have just crush you without a word.

What I was trying to say is that it does not matter who makes a claim - it's about who can defend one.

The bigger clans or the smaller ones with strong allies will be the ones taking what they want, this is the way it has been all over history and the way it is in Strategus.

I am not calling you a newbie (hence the " "), I am simply recommending a different course of action to you when starting from zero. Part of that is making friends in other clans to gain allies - which requires a positive attitude.

Handjobs are definitely the key to any successful diplomacy.  We have some real expert "diplomats" in the FCC, oh yes we do.
