Once one of the most numerous and prosperous peoples of Calradia, the Celts spread from the western seaboard almost as far as the steppes in the east. They were a proud warrior people who were steeped in a mystical pagan religion of many gods.

Never unified, they organised themselves into small kingdoms called Túath. These were ruled over by the most powerful family groups who often boasted the greatest warriors, finest musicians , the most proficient poets and most arcane druids. Women held an unusualy important place in this society and it was not unheard of for them to hold positions which in other cultures would be exclusivly held by men.

Over time, as the Calrad Empire became more powerful the celts all but disappeared on the mainland, reduced to a few scattered and tiny enclaves. Over the seas however, on a chain of islands shrouded in mystery known as the Hibernic Isles they flourished for many centuries.

Their legends told of the great land of their birth, of its splendour and riches and many an adventerous young mind longed to set foot on its shores again. Over time, there arose a significant sub-section of the celtic communites who supported a return to Calradia. One man came to be the catalyst that would galvanise his people into their heroic return to their birthright. From each corner of the Hibernic isles, great champions aswell as aspiring warriors flocked to his banner. He forged a new Túath, borne out of a lust for war and fresh conquests, a túath that would unite all of his disparate peoples in the old world.

He is BalorBoru and they are the Túath na nGael.

Current Leadership;
(click to show/hide)

You gain a rank every time you participate in a Clan event, such as an RP event or Strat Clan battle. First two ranks are meat shields and enemy harassers(to prove you can RP and turn up for scheduled events), then two more ranks in your chosen style to show you can work with the Lords of the realm and take direction in combat. After proving this and attaining four promotions you become a Lord, answerable only to Kings. You also gain the right to command the lower ranks in battle and may duel other Lords in single combat for right to rule(be king/high-king) and to settle disputes(like if you want command of a particular troop in battle).

 - Cattle thief(Ceitherne(it means warband in Irish :D)) Ragged Outfit, War Spear
 - Raider(Kern): Ragged Outfit, Shortened Military Scythe

 - Berserker(Gallowglass): Byrnja, Highland Claymore

 - Scouts(Saethwyr): Green Tunic Over Mail, Javelins, Darts
 - Archers(Dal Riada): Ragged Outfit, Horn Bow

 - Light Cavalry(Óglaigh): Green Tunic Over Mail, Arabian Warhorse, Light/Heavy Lance, Military Scythe
 - Cavalry(Hobelars): Byrnja, Warhorse, Lance/1h+Shield/2h Mace, Great Long Axe/Great Baradiche

Applicants should own a Highland Claymore for posterity. We discourage the use of ranged as cowardly though not disallowed, and heavy cav or any plate armours/large shields are forbidden. You should know how to use a 2h or light cav in order to go far in this clan.

Thanks for the replies and encouragement!

Yes, it would be nice to see some celtic representation on c-rpg as that culture was very successful in the time period that M&B is based in. We could have a lot of fun RP'ing events too, bringing that dominant celtic attitude against the larger more well established clans :)

Hey Elmatiacos,

Nice Sig !!! I really like the crow, fits with the Morrigan (celtic goddess of war for those not in the know) so thats awesome. If you could change it up to include the full clan name and also the fada that would be great. Also i thought a nice quote or saying to put in as an alternate to what you already have there would be the english version of Beidh ár lá linn or Tiocfaidh ár lá  " Our day will come" [ not to signify any allegiance to irish republicanism or anything, just because its a cool Irish slogan about victory.]

Also to Cosmos, anyone really is allowed to Join as long as they are prepared to rp Celtic, we intend to keep a good celtic base but wouldnt be making a habit of turning people away or anything. Also you share your name with a Carl Sagan book so you would be in for sure :P!

And to BD_Guard_Bane , Túatha na nGeal has no opinion on sports, religion or any such real world sectarian nonsense :)!

I've devised a few clan ranks based on Celtic cultural warfare at the time. Most of this will come into play in RP and Clan events/battles but let me know what you guys think.

@Elmetiacos: Wow thanks man, was hoping you'd get back to me :) That's an awesome sig, any chance you could edit it to put the full name of the clan in it? Either way I'm happy you took the time :)

@cosmos: Don't let the name put you off, we are looking for anyone with any Celtic affiliation. That means any eastern Europeans, north Americans, Canadians, Australians or even french people with some Celtic origin/heritage, as well as the main Gaelic nations. We'll even go so far as to take fans of Celtic culture who would like to RP with us, as long as they know enough to RP a Celt properly. Come one, come all - but preferably all!

@BD_Guard_Bane: Ha! Funny guy, but yeah of course :)

I toyed with the idea of starting a Celtic clan just called "Tuatha" so as to have an Irish name (given we have to choose) but not to exclude Welsh*, Breton or Cornish themes - we want their knights and their longbows with us! The sigs (I have others) were designed with that name in mind...
*including Cumbric, if that means anything to anyone
