I think we should be more concerned on how they can fuck up such a good melee system as Mount & Blades (1). I'm almost sure that they'll be "improving" it, one way or another and you all damn well know that any of these "improvements" can backfire aka ruin the game.

I doubt they will. Apparently, there will be a lot of competition in the medieval genre, but the other ones look way more arcadey (this half life mod standalone thing, and war of the roses). They will not be able to compete against those with graphics, so they will have to stay in the niche the created - the advanced combat system. I'm pretty sure that they know that they can't fuck this one up.

Despite the trollish community we have here, it shows that the average age of cRPG and Warband players is way higher than your average pc game, and those players appreciate depth more.

But then again, that might just be my own wishful thinking that they don't dumb it down for consoles.

Vibe, played the first M&B?

Remember how retarded the animations, attack patterns felt like?

Compare that to Warband's, it is a clear improvement, for the better.
I hope they'll polish it even more, in M&B 2.  :)

Nah, clearly console players are not the audience for this, they await the callofdutyithasn'tbeendoneyet /etc clone games every year.

Yeah, it's just me being sceptical. Better this than getting overhyped and die of it.

I'm just saying it's hard to improve what already works so well, higher chance to break something.

ah, i don't think they fuck it up. The melee system from M&B was already improved without destroying it in warband, and as far as I can jugde it was a fairly success measured by their expectations.

Back then it felt awesome to me. Then warband felt strange first until you realised it was much for the better.

True they just need to remove night time cycle and everyone wins.
I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

Most likely. But I have no doubt that it's nowhere near the depth we have in cRPG.

Just sell it to them.
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

Probably. You could also enter Taleworlds dev team and be paid for what you and your friends do :D

cRPG is what vanilla multiplayer should have been.

That's how I feel.

I hope they use shiny graphics this time though.  :D
Additionally, it would not be hard to imagine that Taleworlds could build a cRPG style multiplayer game from the get go with M&B2, maybe even something like Strategus?
Do you think its possible?

Whatever they do, I sure hope it will be mod friendly.

Edit: I see others posted about this already.
