I really don't mind archers cause they are forced to make pure builds which means most of them are easy prey when you get close to them (which isn't really hard). But xbowmen are the real issue, they often hide behind shield, have steel pick and what not. They are true cowards of this mod. We badly need xbow specific skill just like archers and throwers have. Also xbow specific skill will probably kill the most annoying and useless class in the game which, in my honest opinion has no place in c-rpg, mounted xbowman.

2H takes most skill and that's a fact, good 2H player can be equally good at everything else (Chase is the perfect example) while good cav/archer/xbowman will suck at other classes in most cases. Good 2H player isn't good just because his good dueling skills, he's good because to survive he must have great understanding of the battlefield, more than any other class. No one faces so many threats on the battlefield as guys wielding two handed weapons.

It's not going to be changed anyways. Offcourse, it's not realistic compared to the medieval times, but Warband's engine doesn't exactly allow it to be historical.

I rage like baby about range many times i play. but are they ruining my fun? definitely not. Monday mellee for example was great fun the few times i participated, but I would never want that for all time because base elements that make the battle the fun they are were missing.

Also I choose to run around without any shield and I know that.

and +1 for your comment on xbows, leshma.

a general statement to all three topics: There are all sorts of claims from different players on these forums: Cav is like go-kart, archery like egoshooter, shielder for noobs who cant block, 2h spam is OP and so forth. It pretty much says everything about how well balance the classes are, IMO. Of course there is still a lot of fine-tuning to be done, but overall its heading in the right direction.

Imo, horse ranged are ruining the fun. But foot ranged gives some good training, and can't run away while shooting at you. It's very satisfying killing one.
I also tend to dislike xbows cause of their superior PS, compared to bows. So they're "also" a threat in melee.

You're good in blocking, you're good in archery, make yourself an horse xbowman with a 1h sword (won't tell you wich one, search for yourself) and kill everyone.
