It's a dick move in the same manner that someone playing a game against someone else and stops to pull the controller cord out of the console in order to win is a dick move. Or someone that stands in front of the fucking tv while someone else is going for a higher score is a dick move. The fact that you don't see it as a dick move just further shows that you're just another run of the mill asshole who gets off on the idea of fucking over anyone that isn't you.

I didn't mention anything about my family being an issue with playing. Hell, I haven't even called attention to anything personal about this. I've simply stated the fact that in a broad sense this is a shitty scenario. But please, continue trying to drag this down into your personal vendetta against me however you see fit shithead.
I think it is completely on topic. If time issues are such a big thing with NA vs EU but it's not going to change because of a Legitimate Strategy, then why bother with the idea at all? Better ping? Who cares, are we going to whine about being in an area that doesn't provide fiber optics next? Can we divide the NA servers into NA West and NA East? I mean, to be fair, there is a time zone difference between east and west coast, too.
Ideally that is what games do. Then if you choose to play on a sub-optimal server you're doing it conciously. The fact is that you just like the idea of doing any shitty thing possible, exploit or not, intended or not, bad form or not in order to stroke your own e-peen into creamy goodness. You work within the confines of the rules to give yourself an advantage, if fucking over every other player in order to e-peen stroke yourself at your own exploitive brilliance is your goal. *TL;DR - Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do something or that you HAVE to do something. It also doesn't prevent it from being a dick move. If I challenge you to a game for some bet (in this game it's territory control) and then say that the contest will start when I KNOW you have to be at work, while you're not allowed to back out without forfeiting the bet, that's a dick move.
