So the new response to ranged ragers is not "get a shield", it is "learn to chamber ranged nub!"

Fogey's video tutorial is excellent. I'm currently seeing the 7th video and everything went fluently so far.

Lost on my first save today, i wasnt very pleased with it anyways so i enjoyed watching my dwarves suffer. ~6 goblin scouts killed my army of 20, they lost because of poor equips... no shields xD. Then miasma spread all over the place and everyone went berserk or got melancholy. Also i had a vampire but couldnt figure out which one of the 100 dwarves it was, pfff.

I'm riddled with migrants... it's starting to get out of hand here. Also, a merchant dude passed by and spoke to me but I had no idea what to do. Apparently we did some trade automatically though.

Game is cool if you like builder/survival games.

My fort at the moment has about 150 dwarfs and over 50 of them are children which sucks.

Haha that's pretty awesome.

My fort now has a crazy 92 dwarves and... no goblin attack occured yet. I have run into multiple issues that were not already covered in the videos as I was playing at the same rythm as the speaker. I think I have a food problem but I'm not sure, and he just speaks about things that seem only remote necessities for me at the moment.

But heh, I think that now that I know the basic controls like how to use b, d and q menus, I can learn things by playing.

I only have a problem about my bridge, that simply doesn't seem to block anything when it is closed, despite the absence of any ramp to bypass it.

I have set it to retract to the left. Maybe it needs a hole in the ground to actually stop people ? That would make sense :?

well, you built a bridge with nothing to go over!

dig my coffee friend dig!

(je crois que c'est ça le problème, t'as un pont mais ils peuvent passer parce que le pont est au même niveau.)

Bridges should block when raised even if it doesnt cover a hole. I did a whole seaside fort with locked seagates and canals using raiseable bridges. Did you build it to retract or raise to the left? There is no retract directions, it's just plain retract and it makes the bridge dissapear.

I think I will try this, as I have no idea how to create holes actually xD Maybe I could try to make a real retracting bridge one level above the ground but the raising solution seems much easier.

Been playing this for two days, after having watched the same video tutorials as Kafein, and have run into some problems. I can't seem to find out how to get my war dogs to guard an area, can't get them to attack an enemy by command either, which is a problem since they are my defence in the early game.

Is there a way to prioritize jobs? Some tasks that are really important seem to take forever.
