NA players are just generally more skilled than EU and we are jelly.

Also the "problem" with NA is that all at least in theory everyone speaks and understands the same language while it is more limited on EU servers with English not being the native language of the most. This limits the ability and possible reception of trolling decently, although I think the same potential is there.

Now this I agree with.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.

Well as a NA player when I was on EU servers a bit before the patch I really noticed how different weapon usage was.  I saw far fewer polearms in general and the Danish was still the most popular 2h sword (longsword on NA.) I was also surprised to still see lots of miaodaos which had already gone out of style on NA with notable players like tydeus and rangerbob switching from it to polearms. That's at least the impressions I got from the "cannon fodder" on the official EU battle and siege servers.

True enough, but I don't want either side of it. I know crap like that is integral to some games, but I believe Strategus should be more civilized. The two-continent solution sounds fine to me, but for now we're still on the same map, so we desperately need a day/night cycle defined by defenders, like server choice, to keep battle times in line.

Discussing that stuff in greater depth is for other threads, though; we're getting a little bit sidetracked here. :)
Two Continents ftw, let's start a petition.  Proposition Deuce.

Hmm.. maybe most of you guys play battle, because I play siege, and most of the time prefer NA because it seems much more friendly.

Often enough on EU, if I accidentally hit a teammate whilst battling an enemy they will later revenge-attack me.  And I certainly see quite a lot of intentional team-attacking, along with revenge tks, and endless, endless polling.  Accidentally tks seem very often to result in kick/ban polls almost immediately after.  I once leech-reporting some naked guy who had been running around spawn punching those attack dummies for quite some time, and he almost immediately put up a ban poll on me for 'abusing QML'.  Lots of polls.

It is true that there seems to be less conversation in general, probably as has been mentioned because of far more prevalent language differences.  For that I am supremely grateful, because if the playstyle and endless polling is any indication, EU is full of assholes.

Now, I don't think there is any innate difference between EU players and NA players - it's simply that the NA servers are better policed.  EU servers need it just as badly; they just don't have it.  NA admins don't put up with intentional team-wounding, with revenge tks, and all that nonsense.  People who like to do that either know to stay away or have already been banned.

It's unfortunate that fallen for this NA 'badmin' myth, which I have never seen in all my time playing there.  What I do see are some cases when one clan-member is kicked/banned for whatever legitimate reason, and then the rest of his clanmates spam chat with heckling and threatening the admin, challenging the rules or the admin's right to enforce the rules or whatever else - often ignoring whatever explanation is given and continuing with the heckling, and often enough coming to complain about it on the forums.  (I'm not naming any names, but you can probably guess some of the clans I have in mind.)  And if the admin is brave enough to mute or even kick those who refuse to desist in this, as one would expect they make it all that much uglier on the forums.

Effective admining simply isn't feasible if an admin has to justify every ban with an extensive justification and the following arguments via the forum.  I'm glad that most NA admins are able, much of the time, to resist the temptation to try.  But.. don't be mislead by the trolling morons who claim admin abuse just because their friend got banned for being an ass and breaking the server rules.

Im an EU player and have been since around new year but i have been living in the US for the past 5 weeks and in that time ive noticed only a few real differences.

-EU tends to use more archery and ranged compared to NA
-More tincans in NA than EU but also more people playing naked or in peasant gear. Most EU tend to run around in medium-ish armour.

Aside from that there doesnt seem to bed too much difference in terms of playstyles or game experiecnce. In general, player skill is about the same and the number and skill of 'heroes' is also about the same. That said,  id love to see a duel tournament between the best NA players and the best EU players.

So far this has been quite enlightening.  I didn't realize that EU servers tend toward different weapons, for instance.

You guys should visit other servers, too.

In China servers, I've seen all those HAs headshotting each other, doing impossible maneuvers and precise assist bumps. Those HAs are truly under the hands of skilled players, you just never see them stop to take a shot. (And those headshots aren't jokes, for the first few times I thought they were just lucky, but later on it occured more frequent than I've seen on NA, mad skills)

In Russian servers, if you see a 1H cav (pre-patch) it's best to stay near a piker, lest you want to get bump slashed to death (I know some may have counterattacks against those, but they are good at countering those counterattacks, too)

In the larger servers there are millions of more ranged types(Mostly I would think due to the more targets they get to shoot) I once played a match in pecores on Port Assault and standout in the open with my Elite Cavalry Shield up, I would just get pelted and hailed by thousands of projectiles and I'd pussy out and run into cover. This is when I decided to make a macro ''cRPG Battlefield, Better drink my own piss''

I've been playing on NA servers with my boys down in LLJK for a few months now and I keep seeing threads on issues that never seem to pop up when you are a newblette such as myself.  It seems to me that Euros have to play differently or some such.

A few things I've been wondering that I'd love to have clarified:

1.  Is the Bec as big a 'thing' on Euro servers as it in in NA?  Becs are extremely common where I've been.  Polearms and 2h dominate NA- mostly poles these days.

2.  Why is the EU community so in love with the recent archery hellnerf?  I want my arrow speed back, shits slow, yo.

3.  Why do I see so much raeg against NA in various Strat-oriented threads?  We just wanna chill out with a bowl, a beer, and some mountain blade.

I'm sure other Murican types have their own questions for EU.  So tell me EU folks- what makes your crpg different from ours?
only if you tell me why USAers hate canadians and mexicans. :D

instead EU have plenty of capable admins. kurosch, punisher, randomdude just to name few... they all warn before kicking. and the bans are really reserved for recidive conduct.

instead, i got banned by ATS_Ecko for 2 unintentional tks without warning on a strategus fight (an important clan battle. september 2010.) then i got kicked by one another ATS guys for using the word "weaboo" on a NA battle. Then again, i joined a battle with 6 players. 1 of them was an admin. they was making sorta of dueling stuff. i didn't know, i just came and engaged enemies. i got warned by the admin that was enforcing "dueling" rules at his own will.

i don't say NA admins are bad and EU are good. i just say we had different experiences. And yes, NA are more friendly because they are less and thus they play together more often. EU have 4 or 5 full servers at peak time. so it's harder to know all the new players that join cRPG. and i bet it's harded to enforce rules with so much people playing. also we have a lot of rivality between hostile clans (often turning in trolling) and a lot of raging grinders that fortunally NA i hope lacks of.

about the builds, goretooth just opened the way to the STR polearms builds fashion. he's really skilled and people try that route to emulate him.

Very true now as well.
Also, crossbows there, a lot of them. And ones that don't tend to miss a lot. A lot of deadly horse xbowmen too. Very few 2h/polearmers, at least pure ones.

EU has even a clan dedicated to AGIL (Ninjas)
False. Most of us just tend to be agi based to be able to catch up to the enemy with our katanas. But we've had a few strength ninjas over the time.

About the thread. My experience with NA servers is that because you have(had? Dunno about the new servers) lower max population on the servers it's easier to flank with my ninja and because I run fairly quickly the archers never seem to expect me and I get a lot of easy kills that way. Then when I get in close combat the fights seem about the same as in EU, except maybe NA people are a little slower due to more str based build, which is nice because my ping on NA servers is 160.

And I believe the topic should be "So someone teach* me...." *insert stereotypical joke about the US educational system*(I apologize if it's not your native tongue  )
