This is another idea that sounds good in theory, but would get abused so fast it would make your head spin.
I mean, it's already near impossible for neutral players or small clans to get a crafting base going because most fiefs are jacked up to 100g/hr, with this they wouldn't even be able to enter a town and sell any goods they've created or stolen.
If it absolutely had to go in, I'd say that any whitelist only effect your placement on the map - i.e, whitelisted players get the protection provided by the fief, while everyone else still has access to the fief's functions but is still outside and vulnerable on the strat map.

Everyone trying to figure out the profit margin of my attack or the ratio of of gold spent to gold earned (reduced by the variable of usuable equipment salvaged) has literally put in more work than any KoA player for every single battle we've had.

We're overflowing with gear and I've been trying to kill off enough of my army that the upkeep isn't so high. And we're pretty much only playing the game to rob people, so there's no pressure about our success rate.

If you want an explanation beyond Goretooth's monosyllabic responses:
You negotiated a deal that would see you safely through our lands, you did not pay before attempting to go through, and the dire straights NA territory is in has lead to a paucity of battles in which Goretooth can slake his bloodlust. These all combined into a perfect storm that resulted in an attack on you, or as Goretooth so eloquently put it "Want Fight. Take Crates".
You tried to drive past the toll booth without paying and went over the Severe Tire Damage Spikes. I'm truly sorry it came to this, from the depth of my heart. Let it be a lesson to all that paying the completely voluntary Knights of Antioch Territory Transfer Tax is a good idea.

This is the majority of the "crusader" themed clans that play CRPG, excluding NA.So what you're saying is that it wasn't even just a small clan like the Mercs being rolled over - it was a minor power bloc being dismantled, and the rest of EU stood by and did absolutely nothing while the balance of power changed significantly.
Good job though, you totally don't look like some fool talking about stuff he doesn't actually know anything about
...not really seeing what point you thought you were trying to make here. Also not my fault the method for defending against mega-block alliances proposed by the OP is retarded.

Fun times to be had there. Doing nothing except crafting lordly mail mittens for 6 1/2 months is clearly the cornerstone of a successful strategy game that will last the test of time.
Good luck with finding European clan allies though. There's clearly a few here and there that aren't bootlicks, hopefully next Strat they can do more than be rolled over while everyone else over there does absolutely nothing about it.

Surely this will be the point when the other EU clans draw their carefully concealed knives and attack their brobdingnagian neighbours from behind! This will surely be a great war, as faction after faction say "NO MORE" to the UIF's control over...oh wait, no, the rest of EU are doing jack shit to stop them. Except for the guys who are helping them wipe out the underdogs, I guess.
WELPS, I guess it's up to NA to do what literally every other EU clan will not do. With 1/4 of the resources, as mandated by the ping wall. And facing the opposition of damn near every other EU clan trying to prove what stalwart UIF allies they are.
