It was my first game in 5 months, and they crash it on me. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking...

Actually the archery element to the game is the most realistic ive seen on a sim.
I guess it boils down to what you want. Realism or balance? A realistic model of medieval warfare or counterstrike?
Lol I love how all these melee players roll archers alts then make claims as to how easy archery is. First of all I never once seen any of these melee players who roll archer for a gen even come close to topping the boards, or anybodies archer alts for that matter either. It's always been the same handful of hardcore archers who are the only few who retain the ability to top score ingame. So I laugh everytime I see these fools state they have an archer alt and that they do so well, yet I never see any new names top the scoreboards as an archer
Also archers are extremely hard to play pre level 25. I know on my melee alt i'll be able to maintain a 2:1 kd as early as level 15 and i'm not even a strong melee player, good luck doing that with archery.
I am a very strong supporter of at least repatching the archer's shoot speed so they may once again assume their role as a support class instead of a team hitting threat to your back side.
I like this idea, or maybe even a combat log would be nice.
ie:
You did X dmg to Arkonor
Arkonor hits you for X
I would like to know how much dmg I am doing as well.
hah, made me lol. you have convinced me to want xbows nerfed
Less fun?
My freedom ends when the other people's freedom begins.
Same for fun.
Just because it was fun for a HA to circle a group of infantry, showering arrows on them, doesn't mean it was fun for the inf.
Same for lances.
There are different kind of games that give you a different type of fun. In cRPG, we're trying to give fun by challenge. This means that limitations are necessary to allow the better players to achieve a better performance. This was achieved, as far as I can see.
Its been said many times before, but a good archer is about more than damage and kills. On an open plains map, the archers can support their infantry with precise shots into the enemy's flank, disrupting their attacks and blocks and allowing the friendly infantry to take the kill.
