Since the other thread got locked, I'll put it here.

For me, this is a pretty serious issue. I'm talking about discrimination. I'm not sure how can we successfully deal with it.

General rule against it won't work because it's hard to tell (for most admins) when it's trolling and when it's racism or hate speech. Also, I'm sure that we have admins who approve various forms of discimination.

We have a lot of younger people in this community, many of them aren't educated in a way to think with their own heads. As long as there are people who don't think on their own, there will be racism and discrimination. Only way to fight it is education but we're here to play a game and have fun, not to educate people.

Sorry Leshma, I hate locking a topic but it looked like it was devolving.
What I had hoped to get out of it was an awareness of the issue; I don't want someone to be banned for their speech. Hopefully the admins will be more diligent when this issue pops up in-game again.

FYI: Does anyone here buy a product that says "Made in China" at least sometime within the last week?

Do you believe prisoners in jail out to be made to work on local roads, etc. as part of their penance?
Slavery there, though you could argue against that. But it is unpaid/low paid labor, which is the basic definition of slavery.

Then your family, at some point in time, was a slave.

Random facts, I guess? More people where I live need to hear them since they are stupid white cloaks(not really) and hate others. Just wish people'd see facts straight.

Seriously, your analogies need to be better. Comparing the working conditions in China (no doubt really bad) to what he meant by slavery is completely different.

So, Now what makes you any different than the racist? If this was RL, you'd have been sent to prison for murder of the first degree.

I think there's a difference between hate speech/tking in game and hate speech/murder in real life. It's comparing apples and oranges.
Also it would most likely not be first degree homicide as it was not premeditated (at least in the US states).

All this fear of racists and chocolate chip cookie's are fucking up peoples brains, I recall once being on EU_1 with more than half the players denying that Seinstein and his crew were quite intelligent people, and then insulting the hell out of me for claiming it... I believe freedom of speech is important shit and unless you're scammin' 'n' shit or actually being a threat to other peoples lives then it's a lot more important not to fuck up freedom of speech than to ban speech you disagree with, I believe in the right to be a racist asshole. As long as the persons intentions are not to physically harm another human being I do believe he should be allowed to say whatever fucked up shit he pleases.

And if society wants to cut down on racism the first step (and probably the final one as well) would be to stop teaching nationalistic ideas to people, not mention how wrong what is caused by nationalism is while ignoring the cause, while waving your countries flag and talking about how you're a better person than anybody else due to being born in Sweden or something.

And BTW, an insult only maters if it comes from someone you respect, and I doubt you respect the racists, so why does their opinion mater and have to be dealt with as long as it's pretty clear they ain't gonna go out and massacre a bunch of children the next day?

Also, I recall once in NW a guy was banpolling some guy called 104th_Tony_the_Slave or something due to using black skin color along with his name, is Tony_the_Slave a horrible person? Do we want people banned for that shit here?

You weren't there when (Braun/BlindPew/whatever name the coward has now) was talking. He wasn't just saying things, he was trying to provoke us with his comments.
Obviously we both have different opinions on the issue. At least you're willing to come here and talk about it in a civil manner. Let's just leave it at that.

No abuse of in-game chat (racism, insulting, griefing...)

Braun wasn't just using derogatory terms, he was baiting and trying to incite with the things he said.

If I'm not mistaken, racism isn't tolerated on cRPG servers. Normally, it's not an issue but sometimes a player can go overboard. I'm not sure who to talk to about this so I'm posting it here. One player asked what's wrong with sleeping with black men earlier and the response was less than respectful.
