Rather than make it HP based make it a percentage of their HP. 1% of HP = 1 point.

There is some wierd misconception, "get a shield" doesn't really mean play as shielder
XyNox, recent proposals are to reduce amount od bolts/arrows to range players. Keep the decent accuracy, good missile speed but stop the arrows spam.
With longdbow you can have 2 quivers for bodkins and that gives over 30 arrows. Usuall round on battle server last for 2-3 minutes, and that is almost impossibru to run out of arrows wich gives you no real reason to stay any close to the rest of the team, and that is not different playstyle to what is prefered by "2h kuyak heroes" since they also suck in group fights, what makes them run around the map like retards. There is a reason for that, becouse if you stop for a second you will get shot... so yeah get a shield it sometimes stoppes arrows.
Both sides, melee and ranged players, are guilty of what we have now.
I'd prefer to have some faster rounds with intense fights, but that was only possible on siege server which due to low player base will never get populated again... sadly.
I know this sounds bad, but a little weight off of the cav nerf won't hurt anything IMO. I play cav a lot and my horse is often taken down in a single arrow/crossbow/thrown headshot + speed bonus, or one good slash from any melee weapon + speed bonus. Also polearms with shorter length (like the bec) can actually "out reach" a lance; if you release your stab early, the very end portion of the animation (the part of the swing that does NO damage) is still capable of rearing a horse when it dinks it, allowing polearms to use their full length against cav. I play bait cav a lot where i just roll up in groupfights and let my horse absorb hits while my teammates kill the enemies, and my horse goes down in 2 or 3 hits without speed bonus. Kinda crazy. I mean the most annoying cav players are the ones you never even get a chance to hit; the ones that lurk and wait until archers/infantry are fighting/shooting and then charge in.
But i'll wait until this thread has simmered down before I start another balance thread
I wonder how faster combat would affect people with 70-100 ping though. I feel like the low ping advantage only increases with faster combat speeds.
people who QQ about ranged and then can't kill them in melee as infantryman should not be listened to.
that's about the same feeling I had for For Honor.
My main gripe with show is they were almost authentic with all the hacking stuff, but not quite. Like those androids that looks so much alike humans but aren't quite. It actually bothers me more than CSI level of analyzing and zooming standard definition videos (zoom on that 15x15 license plate in the corner, yeah thats right I can now it see it clearly in all of its 1024x1024 glory ).
