Who remembers CRPG from 2010! I keep getting told the games only been out for 2 years and that im an idiot for thinking i played 3 years ago!
Now im only realising that is impossible! as I stopped playing 2 years ago and that I played a year before that, I dont know if im in the right section, I just want to find out if there are any old players from 2010 who started playing CRPG. I played for a year or so then quit in 2011 mid year.
Not sure exactly when I started - but it was when there was only a couple maps (one was a battle map with just 2 bridges) and multiplier was based on proximity so that was funny, and the website looked like random numbers and shitty images on a white background.Ill +1 that! Well I quit because I had to sell my PC! And now not many people rememeber me!
I only played then for a little while, then kinda fizzled out played other stuff...came back again a while later, played for a while, then fizzled out and played other stuff....then came back again :)
Now I think I'm stuck :(
That moment where you are talking about the pros of the old xp/gold system and no one in the teamspeak actually knows what you are talking about, damn newmy old friends. cRPG is in fact more than 3 years old now. To be honest it feels like I have been playing this mod for like 6 years now, but it's only been 2 years and 9 months.
I remember you joining Ninja, hehe, but that was way into 2011 already.
I miss those days...And here I was thinking I was an ass hole for using a German Greatsword with a Warbow. You sir, are a douchebag.
Sheatable flamberge + 6 trowing lances + transitional armor + no upkeep

Started in WB beta back in 2008, with next to no breaks I'm still enjoying it many times a week :)Whoa, Its been 5 years since the beta? :O
Still I think I'd prefer the old xp/gold system. Motivates people to stick together, which we really could use now. This,
I was starting to think the game was full of retarded kids with behavioural problems =D.#
bla bla bla
Fallen Brigade is older than just 2 years and before that I was in Knights of the Rose ( or something like that ), so crpg is definitely older lol. The days where you had full plate archers firing like machine guns with sniper accuracy then meleeing half the nme team to death because they could manual block
Whoa, Its been 5 years since the beta? :OAh, thought it was Nov 2008 (based on my TW forum register), five years did sound a bit much but four then
Time goes by quickly when playing M&B..
Edit: Turns out it was in 2009, not 2008! http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,70852.0.html

Kingdom of the Rose...until the disappearance of Lady_Rosewood? I think there was one Rose guy who took months to switch to something else after that.

If anyone remembers Saladin (Ninja_Saladin) that was me,
...*thinks* - AHHHH - ugliest face I shot. Ever. Even back then. :)
Ah so you were that spineless runner......it figures all just fine now when I recall, compared to you Olwen had a heart of a buffalo and a golden spine up his ass. You can change names & equipment but shitty playstyle will always reveal you.
Says the one who was the first real Crossbowmy old friend in cRPG,

Damn you keyboard heroes have a weird way of writing :x
Lies, I was a Huscarl, first true Nord before they even existed.
25 may, 2010I used to kill chadz a lot, he was just standing in the corner of the map, doing nothing. That was satisfying.
I killed chadz with stone and got level 2 8-)(click to show/hide)

If anyone remembers Saladin (Ninja_Saladin) that was me, i was actually the first black hood ninja :D
Same here. I had like several hundreds of pics from 2010 and 2011 together, but all are lost due to hard disk wipes and new computer :(It's funny, but I have the same situation :(
I remember that "Takeda smthg" guy, who had the first horse and just lanced everything he saw.Wasn't this Niten_Doraku? His another nickname is Takeda...
Peasant on a palfrey, old nightmares :(

If there was any roof in a map you would definitely find Gnjus sniping from it!
My clearest memory of 2010 cRPG was everybody talking and raging about The_Finn on teamspeak and me being like "who?" because I was on horse and this guy wasn't particularly good at lancing other cav.Surely the 40+ kills he usually got per map were quite hard to ignore regardless of his skill at lancing other cav.

There was one map I really would like to see in EU1 rotation cuz it was fun...
One tower in the middle, water with spikes around it, teams spawned on one side of the river each, rather small map and everyone was storming the tower to take control because there wasn't much more on the map. No delaying but short and intense rounds. That's what EU1 lacks quite a lot nowadays :?
Surely the 40+ kills he usually got per map were quite hard to ignore regardless of his skill at lancing other cav.Thats what I miss about it. The feeling when you bought a new piece of equipment was amazing. Knowing you had worked so hard for it and then finally getting it felt so great. Now everyone can afford basic equipment and it is all about looms instead.
I remember saving all through december and finally being able to get my precious destrier, I was a cav my old friend when I came from Native, only for the big patch to come which made 20k mere pocket money instead of a month's savings.

Such a blasphemy.....i despise roof huggers and ladders, I ended up on some roof only if there was no other way, other then that i prefer ruins and trees. You out of all people blasphemous Jabarkas....

Summer of 2010 iirc. Good times. Lots of heroes back then where upkeep was no problem. The game was new and fresh. It wasn't nerfed to hell and beyond.
And of course ladderpulting and full servers. When you grinded for your gear it took some time but you got to keep it with no strings attached and you saw your character progress with new hard earned gear the more and more you leveled up.
Yeah nowadays pheasants stand no chance

I started at around April 2010. My name was Burr1ck, I stacked strength, the weapons I used were the Mallet and Great Maul. I remember the amazing teamwork and the reset rushes.
Johnny have you ever played Nordic village and experience your team camping in the "XP" barn? Whether in crpg, or in native, it's lame as fuck. Now think about that game play being encouraged by the old XP system. You really think you're missing out?I miss it.

You really think you're missing out?I only do that when I play LAN with friends against bots, it's a nice place to fight 100 bots, when you're only 3-4.

Besides, xp barn didn't happen that often and if it happened the whole chat was full with "XP BARN TROLOLO!" and everyone knew about it. It was fun.
XP tower on Lochhaven ATS anyone? Hilarious map and very profitable. All the big boys were fighting on the top floor while the peasants on the bottom floor enjoyed all their xp safely.
A lot of the 2010 - 2011 maps were really good, now we got a lot of lame maps.
That might be my autism speaking, but i actually prefer 3-5 great, balanced maps, to 30+ random "because it's new" maps... :(This is mostly just you, even though we had 80 battle maps on the server for the past 5 months, people readily complained about always playing the same maps and it being so boring. In any case, feedback on which maps you find good and which you find very, very bad is in fact very appreciated. Just head on over to the scene editing board.
A lot of the 2010 - 2011 maps were really good, now we got a lot of lame maps.Well that is a load of bull with nostalgia glasses. I am fairly sure the rotation hasn't gotten any worse, seeing as rotation management simply consists of removing bad maps, adding new ones, removing the bad new ones, and so on. Which means that the 60 or so we have left are in no way worse than the maps that were on in 2010-2011. We might still have to weed out some of the bad new ones, but apart from that the rotation is fairly high quality.
Yeah old maps were better I agree.
The accessable roof is just a pain really.
Maps in 2010 were just as shit as some are now, the cycle we got now is actually pretty good compared to what we've had before. So much nostalgia blinding people.I had more than enough IF, a tincan armor and I was a Sniper with a 2h Sword of tears =P
I guess you forgot about ladders then, every roof back in the days was accessible with a ladder, so every map was delayed untill 1 minute because of archers standing on roofs shooting at infantry who could do nothing.
